A cloud of smoke rose into the air as a fleeing truck was crushed beneath the taloned foot of a monstrous insect. The colossal, lime green mantis chittered loudly, drool leaking from its mandibles as it sought food.
Three more massive mantids roamed the city, one of them clinging to the side of a skyscraper, its grotesque head imbedded in the side, gulping down screaming morsels.
The lone mantid, however, was unaware he himself was being stalked.
The air seemed to leap out at the insect, an even more terrifyingly massive arhtropod form leaping out, closing its obscenely large claws around the mantid's body, splintering it completely. The colossal queen Kamacuras gnawed at the oozing carcass, gulping down huge mouthfulls of shredded flesh, crunching through chitin. The queen has shown herself, and the remaining three mantids all backed away in their respective directions, unwilling to risk themselves until their matriarch's hunger was sated.
Kamacuras greedily chewed away at her meal, unmindful of her lessers around her. She had her meal, and that was all that mattered right now.

In the sky, watching down, a grand hero was prepared to make an even grander come back. The temperatures of the city began to drop at an alarming rate, the water molecules in the air began to freeze and a slight snow began to fall from the clouds. The skies parted and the sun's light bathed the huge warrior in an aura as his feet touched down.

Oh, and just to avoid any potential confusion, 'cause I know it'll happen if I don't say anything, you can't use those 3 extra Kamacuras to attack your opponent, Bio.

Kamacuras paid the new arrival no mind. While her brain was more advanced that most insects, instinct overwhelmed her. She was stuffing her face and besides that, nothing mattered. She chittered in irritance, shuddering slightly at the sudden drop in temperature, but continued her feast.

The might hero simply shrugged, he had no wish to be attacked first anyway. The Giant's hand stretched out and opened, a spear of flames quickly forming inside it. The giant stood the spear of heat energy upward before pointing it at the insect. The super powered alien then stepped back a bit, and brought his other hand up, and the being took aim.
Freezerburn's body took positioned and it lifted the spear up over his head. With one step, the arm holding the spear flew forward and his hand open, the spear was then released.
The insect queen cackled in pain as the flaming temperatures ignited her exoskeleton. The insect fell to its side, screeching in terror as flames danced on its form. Her meal didn't survive at all, the spear itself had missed the queen, just by a margin, and stabbed into it. The intense temperatures utterly turned the dead mantis into a charred crisp that flakes and twitched.
The hero's hand then rose, the ground itself shook for a second before dozens of ice-like spires rose from the ground, several beneath the fallen Kamacuras.

Kamacuras shrieked and chittered in rage as she was shoved aside by the icy spires. She scuttled to her feet and glared at the newcommer, her emotionless face doing little to keep her fury from being evident. With ash and soot clinging to her pincers, the insect leaped aggreesively at the hero, swinging one of her heavy spiked forelimbs into Freezerburn's right arm, ripping into it and knocking the hero to the ground.
Kamacuras raised her other front limb and brought it down, attempting to smash it into Freezerburn's face.

The hero's form remained still as the insect's claw rose up, but as the blade-like limb swiped down, Freezerburn's shoulder spikes flashed with life. From one, a bolt of blue lighting. From the other, a bolt of red lightning. The queen of the Kamacuras cried in pain as one side of her body was coated in a thick layer of ice, while the other was caught a flame. Not able to finish its strike, Kamacuras' body fell to the side, allowing the giant to stand.
A thick steam rose up from the burned side, and a cold mist came off the other side. The creature was already starting to get the gist of the guardian's name. As the insect lay twitching, the hero stretched out both hands, a wave of blistering fire released on his form.

Kamacuras, however, would not be had. Her legs pounded against the ground rapidly, jerking the monstrous arthropod away just as the fiery wave licked at her abdomen. The mantis' wingcase flew open and her fings fired to life, yanking her straight up and into the air, out of reach of the firey burst.
Her mandibles chattered rapidly, vile ichor dripping from them as Kamacuras switched course and swooped low, charging at mad speed right into Freezerburn. Her armored head slammed into the hero's chest before he could even react to her takeoff. The humanoid toppled to the ground, allowing Kamacuras' hooked feet to anchor her landing. The insect now loomed over Freezerburn, her bladelike lower arms lashing outwards, attempting to skewer the prone hero.

The first claw came down, a shower of sparks erupting from Freezerburn's chest. The second then came down, but the giant was more than prepared. All it took was a second for the hero to alter the temperature on his arm and spread the ice out into a round shield. The claw smashed down on it, the ice cracking, but the slash doing nothing to harm the alien being.
With a 'hyah!' type sound, Freezerburn pushed the shield away, meaning he pushed the insect away just enough for him to role back before standing up. The insect queen let out a shriek as the being stood, his left arm holding his right at above elbow length.
With a quick thrust, the left arm slid across the right, an ice chunk of a 'v'-like shape flying off the right hand. Kamacuras cried aloud again as the ice, boomerang-like weapon flew strait at her. The attack smashed into her mid-section, throwing her several meters to the right, but behind her, the attack came back and smashed against her back. The creature fell to the ground, crying aloud as pieces of ice embedded her exoskeleton and more of her body froze, especially her back and mid-section.
As the twitching insect laid still once again, the hero snapped his fingers, a lone spark fell to the ground. The other hand shot upward, and likewise, so did the flames. In a strait line, a path of deadly fire approached Kamacuras.

Kamacuras chittered angrily as the flames ewashed towards her, before snapping to reaction. The insect vanished into the air, becoming little more than a physical distortion in the air, likewise causing the flames to wash over her form. She screeched at the shock of the attack but didn't try to avoid the blast as the flames washed over her transparent armor, bending around it and expending most of its force behind her, melting the ice that dared attempt to confine her.
The insect jumped to life the moment she was free and charged Freezerburn, slamming her armored her into his chest, toppling him once more. This time, however, she aimed a kick from one of her heavy, hooked legs into the hero's crotch, attempting to pin him while her mandibles prepared to do the finishing work.

Freezerburn let out another weird 'yah!' sound as Kamacuras' leg smashed on his manhood, holding him down as the other claw came upward. The giant's hand lifted up, a flurry of ice and snow forming in his hand as a sword was formed.
"HIYAH!"
The blade was brought down and slashed down the back of Kamacuras' form. The insect screeched in pain, a flood of quick-freezing green goo flowing from her back. As the insect fell to the side, Freezerburn stood up and placed a foot on the abdomen of Kamacuras' thorax and prepared to bring the ice sword down on her head.

Kamacuras' yellow eyes displayed no emotion however, matching the impulsive action that followed. She jerked back, allowing the blade to thrust down in front of her face, about to expend its force into the Earth. In an instant, the arthropod's chittering mandibles lunged forward, seizing the icy blade between them and crushing it, raining glassy shards of ice and frost.
Kamacuras' arms lashed outwards, closing over Freezerburn's body, driving their obscenely massive spikes deep into the hero's torso, pinning him in place, leaving one arm forcibly draped over her shoulder. The mutated mantid's head lunged forward, mandibles eagerly awaiting the invitable flesh that would soon be between them.

The mandible maw snapped close around Freezerburn's shoulder and began to squeeze. The armor-like skin of the hero began to crack, but his free arm reached up, and began to press the bug's mouth even harder against his body. The air around Freezerburn began to warp.
The insect let out a shriek as her head and mouth began to darken before catching on fire. A cloud of smoke began to rise up as the exoskeleton was burned and her insides boiled. At last, Freezerburn moved his arm, letting Kamacuras fall to his side, her head lifting off the ground repeatedly as smoke spewed from her mouth.
The hero stood up and looked at his cracked shoulder, a pasty blue goo slowly seeped out. Now angered, Freezerburn rose his arms before pointing them at Kamacuras, a wave of freezing energy firing out.
