Tortonne coughs and gasps, finally able to breathe again. Upon catching his breath, he gets back to his feet and turns to face Rosie once again. With a grunt, he holds both arms forward and to the sides, hands open and palms facing forward. Rosie understands the gesture and does the same. The two lock hands and begin trying to push the other back. For over a minute the battle of strength goes on with neither side gaining any ground or showing any signs of weakening.
Then Tortonne makes his move. He suddenly pulls back with his arms, causing both himself and Rosie to fall toward each other. The huge tortoise's powerful, serrated beak opens wide before clamping down on the walrus' shoulder, instigating a grunt of pain from the beast. Time seems to stand still as the two rival kaiju glare at each other momentarily out of the corners of their eyes. With a grunt of his own, Tortonne yanks his head back, taking a chunk of Rosie's shoulder with it.
The walrus monster shouts and buckles from the pain, allowing Tortonne to shove him back. Rosie falls over backwards, gripping his wounded shoulder. Meanwhile, Tortonne spits out the bloody chunk of flesh before kneeling down and taking each of Rosie's legs under his arms. He stands up and begins to spin, swinging the walrus around several times before releasing him and sending him flying in the direction of Davy.
