The ground beneath the Mexican capital seemed to be alive as it pulsated like a heart. A wall of dirt and concrete rose into the air as the scorpion-like beast stood up on trunk-like legs. Streams of drool fell from its gapping maw as it looked around. As the humans ran before its might, the insect began to sense something else..

Riptide shrieked in overhead, as his retro-boosters kicked in, allowing him to land upright and face the enemy. A giant insect/reptile amalgm. This would be fun...

Scorpadon needed no such command from the blue saurian. His beetle-like shell exploded to life, revealing his wings that quickly carried him forward. His long, stinger-ending tail hoisted above his body and past his shoulders as he charged the red, white, and blue mech.
A true clash of the titans as the scorpion smashed full speed into him, the tail thrusting downward. The mech let out a shriek-like cackle as the tail stabbed into the chest, just above the green orb. The venom was quickly injected, but something was wrong.. It simply flowed back out.
Scorpadon's wings flapped a few more times as he carried himself back. His head cocked to the side, throwing strands of drool to the ground below. It's maw opened to roar and pincers snapped close and then re-opened. Its head circled in the air before redirecting itself at Riptide. The mandibles parted and jaws opened as he fired the Ion Beam.

But Riptide deftly blocked the projectile weapon with his right arm Barrier Shield and quickly attacked back with his Plasma Cutters, slicing two deep wounds into Scorpadon's chest. The insectoid mutation howled and staggered backwards as Riptide pressed the assault. He stabbed forward with the left arm Plasma Cutter and stabbed upward with the right arm Plasma Cutter, the former aiming for the gut, and the latter aiming for the head...

The monster snarled as he backed away. The first blade found its target, slicing and digging into the monster's exoskeleton. The second blade missed, going clean passed his head. The mammoth scorpion let out another hiss before its wings quickly unfolded from its back. The machine had no reaction time, a point blank hit unavoidable.
With a single flap, Riptide's body was thrown backward, explosions covering every inch of its form by the Ion Swarm. The robot's back bounced off the ground, sparks and smoke spewing from its maw and eyes as another wave was sent..

The Ion rounds were once again deflected by the Barrier Fields, as Riptide rapidly countered with a Triple Strike, firing both the Hyper NOVA and ANECs at the same time. The beams lanced into Scorpodon's face, and the explosion blasted free a chunk of armor, as well as sent the insectoid terror reeling backwards. Riptide pulled himself off the ground and charged forward, charging for yet another Triple Strike...

A low-pitched hiss came from the beast's maw as his wings came apart and began to vibrate. A buzzing came from the translucent wings and the huge war-weapon seemed to stop dead in its tracks. Its systems began to stop, pause, and reset themselves. The charging weapons died down and the machine stood still as Scorpadon stood up. The monster cried aloud again and lashed out with his tail stinger once more.

Riptide could do nothing to avoid the stinger, as it slammed into his shoulder. Fortunately, the toxins they pumped pooled out of his body like waste, and had no effect on his mechanical structure. But as Scorpadon tried to extricate his stinger, Riptide's systems rebooted, and the machine sucker punched Scorpadon in the gut repeatedly with hsi Delta Blades, leaving numerous puncture wouds in the armored hide of the insect hybrid.
Riptide then pushed Scorpadon away and opened fire with a volley of missiles...

Scorpadon hissed as the missiles detonated on his armored hide, spouting off balls of fire that floated gracefully passed his skull. His mandibles opened and closed repeatedly before the assault was over, while powerful, by human standards, the missiles were less then effective against the beast that is Scorpadon. With a shriek-like cry, Scorpadon's body exploded forward with a surprising burst of speed.
Its left pincer reached up, gripping the machine by the throat. The second reached down, gripping the leg. With a show of strength, Scorpadon pulled Riptide, horizontally, onto his shoulders. His right side pushed upward and left pulled downward, the two pieces of the move together, Riptide's body was smashed, like a hammer onto an anvil, into the ground. Sparks and smoke spewed forth from its robotic jaws from the kaiju-sized modified FU.
Still not convinced his stinger was useless in the battle, Scorpadon brought it up again, and it lashed downward, aiming for the eye of the machine.

The venom may not have been entirely effective, but the stinger still posed a threat. Riptide twisted his head to the side, and fired his shoulder cannons from his prone position, causing the stinger to miss, and Scorpadon to be blasted back, a pair of smoking wounds on his chest armor.
Riptide pulled himself out of the dust and prepared to fight the Electroshock Anchors at Scorpadon...

The anchors lanced through the air, searing the oxygen as Scorpadon shrieked. The scorpion lifted a single claw, the first anchor stabbed into the exoskeleton where the claws met. The beast side-stepped the second, making it bounce on the ground before being retracted. The one that made contact quickly began to send bolts of electricity flowing through the Ion-spawned monster.
The beast snarled and foamed at the mouth as his arm began to curl the cord around itself. Riptide looked from side-to-side, confused at what was happening. He was being reeled in! His legs began to try and back away, but Scorpadon continued to pull and wrap the cables around his claws. Even has millions of volts surged, the long, stinger-tipped tail hoisted itself up.
The robot let out a battle cry and raised its arm, hoping to block the coming sting, but instead, Scorpadon simply showed his cunning. His wings exploded outward, the translucent appendages growing a white in color. A single flap then sent the energy..
Explosions covered Riptide's entire body. Pieces of armor and circuity flew from various parts as Scorpadon released the cable. It bounced on the ground several times as Riptide fell backward. His front side was burning with dents and holes in the armor now. The monster lifted his head, roaring in victory before looking down, an Ion Beam heading for the robot's head.

Riptide countered with hsi own Hyper NOVA Cannon, and quickly proved to be the superior of the two. The blasts collided briefly, before the energies swirled and gathered, then forced their way back into Scorpadon's mouth, where they engulfed his head in a massive explosion. Scorpadon was thrown bodily backwards, pieces of blood and meat dripping from his blasted jaws, as Riptide got to his feet and charged, before gripping the ion spawned monstrosity by the tail and prepareing to swing him into some nearby buildings...
