The Clash has begun. 39 kaiju. 1 Winner. 1 Championship.
All monsters will be randomly drawn. This is your chance, outlast all others. You have three chances...
The Committee - Monster Master - Inferno Rodan - Bio - DinoHunter2 - THE GODZILLA
Arena: New York City Rules: New Years Clash. This match has Enhanced rules but without regeneration. You can attack up to three times in one post, like normal Enhanced rules. All attacks do not have to be on a single kaiju (IE: You can attack Godzilla, then Rodan, then Anguirus, and have a last un-determined attack going against Baragon).
And the starting kaiju are...
Avion (PCZ) Valcanus (DH)
PCZ, since he was drawn first, attacks first. No intros needed. After the 10th fight post, the 3rd kaiju will be brought in.
Good Luck.

*cracks knuckles*
Here we go.
---
Pedestrians...vehicles...structures both completed and still under construction. For most other great creatures, these obstacles would be quite a bother to maneuver around, if it were even possible...not helped by the fact that humans were never welcoming of the sight of a creature over twenty times their own size, and their settlements nearly always degenerated into chaos and panic when such a creature made an appearance, which only made getting around them more troublesome.
But she was unconcerned by any of this. She had the gift of wing, and could fly above even the tallest buildings with ease. In spite of the heavy stone armor that encumbered her lithe frame, she was swift and graceful in the sky, and her presence was at once both majestic and terrifying.
Her name, roughly translated from the tongue of her long-dead worshippers, was Avion. To her fellow Colossi, she was known as the Bird of Prey...and as the eagle whose likeness she bore, she was cunning and fierce and without mercy in battle.
And it was to battle that she soared this day, as she spotted who would be the first of many foes to face. In an instant her focus shifted to the other giant beast that now occupied the city, having sent its former inhabitants fleeing for their lives already...it was quite fortuitous, she thought, that she was the first to arrive here to urge the humans on their way. Dirge would not be able to keep out of their way without tunneling in from below ground, which would only further disorient and panick them with the quaking of the ground...and Argus would scarcely be able to make any headway against the enemy, having to constantly watch his massive step.
She would have allowed herself a grin at the thought, had her beak been more than solid, inflexible stone. As it was, she could only return her focus to her inevitable enemy...its stance reminded her of the reptilian Kuromori, who was currently engaged in another war elsewhere; and it almost appeared as though it could be another Colossus itself. But she knew better; she could tell without even seeing who her fellow guardians were...such was the bond they all shared.
And this beast was no guardian.
The great eagle clacked her beak ruefully and then angled her body to the left, then gradually to the right as she began to fly overhead in a circle around the fiery-looking beast, judging the best way to begin and then continue her attack. Encased in all that rocky armor, her claws and beak probably wouldn't work to great effect...and she had to keep in mind that the human presence, though dwindling, was still notable. For now, she had to keep the creature contained within this relatively small area...and how to do some serious damage given her restrictions?
!
An idea came to her. With a powerful thrust of wings, Avion leveled out and accelerated away from the volcanic monster, then went into as sharp of a turn as she could manage without losing much speed, and angled down right toward the beast, swooping for it as it continued to turn in place trying to regain sight of her. Its eyes made contact with hers - then went wide in surprise as her talons came up and opened wide--
--and snatched it by the face and neck, roughly yanking it over backward, and then slowly upward as Avion pumped her wings and regained the sky, with her enemy now in tow. She could feel the intense heat it gave off through her armored talons, but the wind whipping against it as they soared through the air at speed lessened it somewhat...and she wouldn't be holding on much longer in any case. She could sense the monster below her roaring angrily, flailing with paws and tail, trying to convince her to let it go. Oh, she would let it go...but only when she saw fit to do so. Which would be right about...
...Now that she had ascended to nearly a kilometer in the air, well out over the water of the harbor that was the beginning of the Atlantic Ocean. With one more powerful beat of her wings, the Bird of Prey swung her legs up, performing a seemingly-improbable backward flip in mid-sky, sending her hapless foe hurling up and over - and then down toward the water as she let him go at speed.
'Perhaps this will douse the hothead's temper...' she thought wryly as she witnessed the monster shrieking and flailing hopelessly, grabbing for nothing and getting just that...until...
P-LASH!!
Tidal waves of water flew in every direction, with massive ripples radiating outward from the point of impact...and huge, billowing clouds of steam began to exude from where the creature must have lain; as she had suspected, the cool waters of the ocean must be playing havoc with its molten-hot body.
Still, she needed to see precisely where and in what position the enemy lay, and the huge veil of fog now being generated was not agreeing with her...so she maneuvered back a bit in midair, and focused. Her eyes went dim for a few seconds...then flashed brightly as a focused beam of sunlight shone down from heaven, piercing through the steam and illuminating the shadow of the beast laying within.
Its position confirmed, Avion's eyes returned to normal and the beam of brilliance faded. She maneuvered forward, hoping that the creature wouldn't suddenly shift position as she made her move...then let herself drop down from the sky, folding in her wings to defeat the resistance of the air itself as she plummeted downward, tucking her legs and bracing herself...
She fell down through the mist, finally spotted her foe just a split-second before impact when it was much too late to alter her course or otherwise avoid what could be a painful landing...but as her feet came down squarely on the beast's head, driving all of her accelerated weight into it through her miniscule feet, her plan was a success. Its head snapped painfully back down into the water, smashing against the bottom, and she sensed the rest of its body jolt upward a bit in time with the impact to its face.
She could feel the great heat still exuding from its body, particularly in her talons which still held its head down in the shallows; but the water and mist dampened the temperature to bearable levels. So much the better, as she recovered from the landing herself and then hopped shortly backward, landing on its gut and forcing its head to lurch back up out of the shallows, spewing steam and burning hot breath. Avion shook her head as the heat irritated her eyes, then brought her right wing to bear and promptly struck a powerful blow to the side of the beast's face. Fissures cracked and tiny chips of rock flew from the blow, as evidently the armor was weakened from exposure to the water...Avion could feel the powerful heat making itself known through her armored talons, but she wasn't going to remain in contact with this monster much longer as she continued her assault, swiftly pounding a series of blows with both wings into the creature's head, cracking and damaging the armor and undoubtedly knocking it senseless.
Finally giving in to the stinging, burning sensation in her feet, the eagle spread her wings and leaped away from the wallowing beast. Turning in midair, she flew off a ways over the water, and then turned back toward the cloud of mist. As much heat as the monster gave off, no doubt it was already beginning to warm the water it lay in to temperatures more of its liking. Not wanting to see it adapt to one of its weaknesses, the avian Colossus began to beat her wings with great force, sending ripples and eventually tidal waves of fresh, cool water flowing toward the enemy...
---
Whoo...how's that for an opening shot, eh?

Hehehehe.... time for the fun to begin.
---
Valcanus reeled back, pummeled by the mighty gusts. Glowing embers flew off his rocky hide as the wind caught then, carrying them out to sea to die. The bird-like golem seemed to know what it was doing... then again, it was fanning a fire monster. The corner's of Valcanus' rocky maw cracked and split as he forced a villainous smile, flames lapping out from the fissures that covered his body.
Bracing the invigorating wind and lashing out with one of his clawed hands, Valcanus siezed the behemoth avian by the end of it's wing and pulled down with mountainous strength. He tore the colossal beast from the sky, pulling it down into the boiling waters around him. Steam rolled off it's cool, rocky exterior as it hit the sea and plunged beneath it, pulled down by Valcanus' grip.
He bellowed a spray of molten sparks as he dug his claws into the bird's wings and held it under the water, submerged in the searing sea. Valcanus raised his body temperature to it's limits, his claws glowing fiery orange as they dug under the Colossus' earthy plates. The guardian struggled violently, but Valcanus held it fervently under water, like a bully dunking a victim at the pool.
Suddenly letting go, Valcanus tore his claws out and let the colossus free. It had been struggling so hard that it literally flew out of the water, launching itself up and into the sky. As it soared into the air, Valcanus took note of the glowing red puncture marks in it's rocky hide. Valcanus glowed- further confirmation that his foe was not fireproofed! Opening his mouth wide, Valcanus wasted no time in unleashing his oral heat beam. The stream of red and orange thermal energy blazed through the sky and hit the colossus' chest with an explosion of rock and flame.
The winged golem plummeted, trailing smoke and steam as it descended towards the stinging, boiling sea beneath. Valcanus watched, waiting patiently for the right moment... As the flying rock came within a few meters of the waves, the surface broke in an explosion of steam and fiery light. Valcanus boomed, his laughter like a volcanic eruption, as he raised his fist high and watched as the pillar of pressurized magma tore through the water and struck the falling monster, scorching it's body and throwing it back once more into the sky.
Quelling his laughter, Valcanus watched the limp guardian as it fell again, this time to it's inevitable destination. With a titanic splash, the beast sank beneath the frothy waves and disapeared from sight.

Coughing out a cloud of bubbles, the guardian cursed silently as she realized her mistake: any wind not strong enough to blow a fire out of existence will merely feed it. And evidently, even the gusts produced by her wings beating were not up to the task of extinguishing this hellbeast's life. She would have to rely on a more direct approach.
...Which itself begged the question, how to make her approach now? The enemy now held the high ground over her: even if it had lost direct sight of her, a creature of her size could not move about beneath the water without creating distinct disturbances in the pattern of the waves...and if the beast was anything but a blind fool, it would see what was happening and react appropriately. Avion was intelligent and crafty, and she knew it; but she had also learned never to assume that other creatures out there weren't just as quick-witted as she, if not more so.
And she had no reason yet to not extend that respect to the enemy she faced now.
Left with little choice but to come straight at her foe, the Bird of Prey allowed herself to sink to the bed of the harbor, but brought herself upright so to land on her feet...then spread her powerful wings and thrust hard, shooting up toward the surface and bursting into the open air in a roaring, spraying splash, like a crocodile lunging up from the riverbed to seize its hapless meal. The monster before her reared back a bit, though it didn't appear so much in surprise as it was merely readying itself for its adversary's next move...but it would have no way of preparing itself for this, as Avion at once threw all her limbs wide to sling most of the unwanted water loose from her body--
--and her blue pentagonal irises flashed in unison.
If the enemy can see your every move...then take away his sight.
So went a proverb of one of her ancient people's war chiefs, as the heavens parted to allow a beam of immortal brilliance to shine down once again - this time right into the volcanic demon's eyes. A vicious roar of agony resounded as the creature stumbled back, shaking its head and futilely raising a claw to its face to try to shield its eyes from the blinding glare...then, a loud splash and the thud of a heavy impact was felt right in front of it as the Light of Heaven withdrew beyond the clouds; but the beast's sight didn't have time to recover before a hard and sharp-edged impact drilled into one of the fissures at the joint of its wrist. He tore the hand away sharply, but still he could just barely begin to make out a huge armored shape standing before him...looked like it was spreading its wings wide--
--And causing pain to rattle and vibrate through his skull as Avion forcefully slapped the armored ends of her wings together, with his head right between them. With the enemy momentarily stunned, she swiftly jumped up and latched on to his damaged head with her talons, then pumped her wings and lifted back into the air with it in tow. With one more thrust of wings to keep them both airborne for a critical few seconds, she began to whirl around in place, swinging her foe in circles to build momentum, then letting it go at speed - sending it hurtling and crashing into an abandoned human building, promptly reduced to rubble in an explosive conflagration.
After taking a second to catch her breath, the Colossus stepped across the edge of the harbor toward its fallen adversary...observing the area of destruction it rested in and taking note of a couple of particularly sharp-looking pieces of debris, that might hold up for more than a moment to its intense heat. Walking up to her rival and clutching the bits of rubble firmly in her claws, Avion leaped up with a flap of her wings, deftly shifted her impromptu weapons around in her feet, and thrust them both down toward a pair of fissures identified in the monster's exposed underbelly...

Valcanus lifted his head and roared defiantly as the jagged pieces of rubble struck his chest, digging into one of his larger fissures. The sharp edges sank pointlessly into burning magma, sticking in the molten rock and slowly catching fire. Unphased, Valcanus reached out and grabbed the bird-like monster by it's shoulders, forcing his red-hot claws in through the beast's rock-plated body. He lifted the beast off his chest and threw it aside, letting it roll as it hit the ground. Valcanus pulled himself up, shaking the debris from his hide and snorting smoke. He turned his head and let loose his breath weapon, blasting the fallen monster's back with blazing heat. The grass or fur that covered part of it's body blackened and burned, consumed by the fiery energies. Valcanus watched the flaming guardian struggle to it's feet, but his volcanic heart knew nothing of pity or mercy. He raised his fist and snarled, ushering a pillar of magma up from beneath the ground. Thrown by the blast of lava, the stone guardian fell to the ground with a titanic thud, crashing onto it's back and shattering the concrete beneath it. Valcanus lifted his head high and roared, eyes glowing with intense flame. Behind him, in the city, more geysers broke the surface. They exploded from undeneath the streets and buildings, rising high into the sky and raining molten rock on everything below. The towering pillars blew huge structures apart, throwing dust and debris into the air and wreaking havoc on everything around them. As Valcanus lowered his head, eyes alight with flame, the geysers slowly died off. The point was made: He would not only destroy the guardian, but also that which it protected.

(Dammit...must stay focused...)
---
Curls of smoke drifted from Avion's limp body as she lay, almost motionless, in the broken street. The demon she battled stood on all fours, snarling puffs of fire as it leered at her scorched, smoldering frame. All around them, hell itself was breaking loose of its confines deep within the earth...black choking smoke and ash were beginning to smother the sky...molten magma oozed over the ground, melting and burning everything it touched...and fires spread rampantly, threatening to consume anything that remained yet untouched.
...Avion's body fell completely motionless at that moment. Her eyes dimmed, and it looked for all the world like she was dying, mortally wounded by the enemy's last destructive attack. In truth...she was mourning. Sorrow churned in her gut as she lamented the fate of those poor souls she had been unable to protect, and had little choice but to face the fact that she probably wouldn't be able to save any more. It was too clear now what this beast intended to bring upon her, this city, and all others who dared stand against it.
Ruination.
'Dirge...Argus...please arrive soon. I am not certain that I alone can stop this demon...'
Her eyes came alight once again, as she resigned herself to her fate. Slowly, her wings lifted themselves from their splayed positions at her sides, then came down and slammed against the ground, thrusting her body upward and allowing her to land on her feet. She turned to face the volcanic beast, who hissed as it leered at her, in anger or anticipation or both. She let a soft hiss of her own escape from her armored beak, as she slowly began to hobble along the ruined road toward her enemy, stumbling once or twice over the broken and charred asphalt. The demon itself appeared to be amused by this display of foolish bravado, and patiently waited for her to drag herself within the fatal striking distance...
...When she unexpectedly hopped into the air and performed a quick about-face, bringing her long, armored--and tucked-in tail into view. The tail then promptly thrust itself straight and smacked the stone tip right into one of the monster's eyes. Predictably, the thing howled in rage and lashed out with a burning claw, but Avion had already dodged forward and out of its reach before turning back to face it. The beast shook its head furiously, screaming its ire at such a sneaky and underhanded tactic as well as being arrogant enough to fall for it...but even before it could regain itself enough to launch a counter-attack, the Bird of Prey seized and retained the offensive: this time curling her tail sideways before hopping around and whipping the appendage out to smash its thin armored edge into the side of the monster's head.
Molten armor cracked under the blow and glowing pieces of rock flew from the side of the beast's face as its head whipped to the side...and Avion promptly pressed her attack on the area of immediate vulnerability as she jumped up one more time, this time kicking and slashing with her sharp talons at the fresh wound in Valcanus' face. Bits of molten-hot magma began to bleed from the wound...and, if nothing else, the guardian saw that this hellspawn could bleed and die like any other mortal creature.
...Including herself. A fact she would do well not to forget.
She landed on the ground and swiftly kicked her feet to the sides to sling loose the molten-hot blood before it alone could harm her, then took a step forward and braced herself to deliver a series of hammering pecks into the eye she had struck with her tail a moment ago...

Valcanus howled with rage, lifting his arm and intercepting the incoming attack. He seized the guardian's beak, wrapping his fingers around it and holding tight. Swinging the creature with it's own foreward momentum, Valcanus lifted the bird off it's feet and tossed it aside, letting it crash into one of a large building nearby. Valcanus hissed and watched as the building collapsed, it's inhabitants crushed by the very being who came to protect them. As the debris settled, Valcanus stepped forward. Mental pain was well and good, but he still had some physical abuse to give. Reaching into the rubble and grabbing hold, Valcanus heaved the bird's head and shoulders out of the wreckage. He snorted, pulling back his right leg and then brining it forward fast, kicking the guardian in the face and toppling it over backwards. As the avian laid prone, Valcanus snarled advanced. He lifted his foot above the bird's chest and slammed it down, stomping the creature's rocky breast and pushing with all his weight. The beast's rock hide began to crack and split from the pressure, but Valcanus let up- not for mercy, but to prolong the suffering. Valcanus stepped back, watching the protector's chest heave, black liquid oozing from it's new wounds. Extending his club's spikes, Valcanus snorted and prepared to beat down the creature's inevitable counterattack.

Avion coughed, hissed in pain as the burning sensation subsided, and now saw the demon bringing its great spiked tail to bear. She fought down an involuntary shudder as she sensed those wicked-hot spurs would strike with enough force to pierce right through her battered armor...she needed to ward off the blow somehow. As she quickly observed the contours of the thing's tail and where its spikes jutted out, she took a breath to steel herself...
Valcanus roared a savage war cry and thrust its deadly appendage down, anticipating the welcome feeling of its spikes shish-kabobbing its erstwhile foe...but at that instant, her armored wing tips came up and caught its tail by the bases of its lethal spurs. Holding it off and using it to gain some leverage, Avion worked to get her feet back beneath her. The beast snarled and shook its tail back and forth, trying to disrupt her feeble grip; it should have been easy, as the bird didn't even have fingers to hold on with...but its jagged spikes were numerous, and she could readily shift her grip to maintain her hold - and she was determined not to let go.
The demon snorted a puff of fire and jerked its tail hard down and to the side with a good deal of force, but the winged guardian stubbornly kept her grip - and then, with a shrill cawing cry of pain and sorrow and righteous fury, she jerked it further along. The beast's paws shifted and slid, and it grunted in surprise as it realized, too little too late: its enemy was beginning to turn its own force back against it.
Planting her talons hard in the ground, the Bird of Prey gave a mighty heave and lifted the fiery monster's feet clear of the ground, and started to swing the great beast around in circles. Having been made in the likeness of a great eagle, she wasn't an expert in claw-to-claw wrestling...but she was fellow guardian with several Colossi who were. And as she watched them tussle with one another and other great creatures, she observed more than one trick and tactic that she could possibly put to use herself, should the need arise.
Valcanus bellowed and flailed futilely with its legs, but they could do nothing to help it now as Avion swung it faster and faster and then finally let it go, sending it hurtling and crashing through several abandoned structures in a row. Dust and smoke and rubble exploded in every direction as the beast plowed through the masses of stone and glass and metal like they were mere piles of leaves.
She waited for a moment, to catch her breath and let the dust settle, then advanced in her foe's direction once more. It lay on its side in the massive pile of debris, its body heat already beginning to burn and melt through the comparatively fragile building materials beneath it. It may have been down, but she could see it was far from finished; she needed to press her attack.....as she considered how to do so, her eyes wandered to the beast's long, bony tail, lethal spikes still protruding from orifices she could not readily identify.
...Her head cocked briefly in consideration, as she tentatively reached out a wing tip and took up the tail again, finding a spot to gain good purchase without risk of harming herself on the numerous spurs. The creature groaned and began to stir in response...Avion's eyes mutated from placid blue to angry orange as she quickly gathered the tail up in her wing, then braced and hurled the limb down upon its owner, slamming the spikes into its side.
That woke the demon up right quick; it snarled and howled in sudden pain and fury, and she hastily backed away from any immediate retribution. As the monster got back on its feet and quickly identified her as the cause of its new wounds, any retort it might have had for her was cut short as she leaped into the air whilst crossing her wings' tips, then fell and thrust the armored bits down in a devastating hammerblow that not only cracked yet more of its weakened armor, but drove and smashed its head down into the ground.
With the enemy stunned again, Avion now went to its side where its spiked tail was still embedded. Carefully lifting a claw and gripping one of the sharp protrustions, she yanked the limb loose from its master's body, watching with some satisfaction as burning blood started to ooze from the new fissures in its skin. Seeing this as a viable weapon to use against the creature, she again took the tail up in her wing, brought it to bear and attempted to slam the spikes into its side again...

Valcanus shook his head, trying to come back to his senses- he felt a jerk at his tail and suddenly realized what was going on. His eyes lit up, fixed on the guardian. So, she wanted his tail? She could have it. Turning around, Valcanus thrust out with his tail, shoving the spike-tipped club into the colossi's eager talons. Her beak opened up, releasing a cry of anguish as one of the burning spurs dug into her foot, drawing and boiling blood. As the bird released it's grip, Valcanus pulled back his tail and spun around, facing the hovering golem. She was smart, but her wits could only protect her for so long. Valcanus let out a titanic roar, his flaming maw exuding blinding heat. The spires on his back unleashed a barrage of molten rock that rocketed into the sky, trailing fire and black smoke. The volcanic projectiles arced above the two combatants and shot down, striking their target's back and exploding. The six simultaneous explosions threw Avion from the air, dropping her in the wrecked streets below. For a moment she was still, eyes dim. Then something caught her attention. A lone human. A child. She ran across the street, leaping out from behind a pile of burning rubble, sprinting across the once-crowded avenue. Avion's eyes glimmered with light as she beheld the creature- pure, innocent, and defenseless. The child ran frantically, but as she glanced over her shoulder and spotted Avion's open eyes, she halted- perhaps out of fear, or surprise, or hope. But she stopped all the same, consumed by what she saw. High above, Valcanus was ready to strike- but he saw the look in his opponents eyes. He he no longer held Avion's attention... sweeping the area with his fiery gaze, Valcanus spotted the girl. His face contorted into a wicked grin... As the girl turned to Avion, Valcanus' foot came crashing down. Right before her eyes the child perished, crushed into oblivion. The guardian watched, stunned and aghast, as the fragile young life was so suddenly extinguished before her. Valcanus' foot shot forward, striking the fallen guardian in the face. She reeled back, falling over with a crash as Valcanus advanced. He lowered his head, still grinning like a devil, and summoned another onslaught. Lava burst from the ground, blowing apart more and more buildings, claiming hundreds more. Flaming debris fell from the heavens like rain as Valcanus brought the city to it's knees... As the city burned, Valcanus pondered: What would Avion do now? With the city in shambles and thousands dead, what did she have to protect? What did she have to fight for? His grin spread further, cracking his face. Never before had he so enjoyed destroying one creature...

'Such a fell demon even existing...'
Avion grit her beak tightly, her eyes appearing to burn with the anger that pulsed through her being. This wretch, this abomination had the gall to so ruthlessly end a young and fragile soul before her very eyes...and then continued to visit wanton destruction and chaos on the already-devastated settlement, just to punctuate its point...
...A mistake.
In laying waste to their surroundings, and murdering which helpless people didn't manage to flee for safety, the demon was permitting the Colossus to fight with all she had...not just permitting, but practically asking her to fight with all her strength and cunning and fury. She no longer needed to restrain herself.
And she no longer would.....no longer could.
Seething, righteous anger, her own inner flames, writhed and burned in sympathy with the heat thickening the choked air and the fires dancing hither and yon. She no longer felt sweltering in her thick fur and heavy stone armor...the flame of her spirit burned brighter and hotter than any heat this infernal demon could muster. She faced down the devil in his own fiery domain...
And she would fight him to the death.
A low, guttural growl started deep in her throat, as her wings curled and tensed at her sides, and her talons flexed tightly, cracking the joints of her feet in their armor...all of a sudden, her head lurched forward and belted a shrill, vicious scream, resounding with the pain and grief and guilt and rage of herself, her fellow Colossi, and every innocent soul made victim by this monster.
Her wings slammed against the ground, and she lunged as if borne by a magical wind, her armored limbs immediately spreading wide and then slamming together with the beast's head right between them, before it had any chance to dodge or counter. Holding it there in her wings, now completely ignoring the searing heat it exuded, she came close and violently thrust her head back and forth again and again, relishing the feeling of her beak pounding and cracking into the monster's eyes and forehead. Only when the molten blood began oozing and splashing dangerously close to her eyes did she cease her attack.
Pulling back and shaking her head vigorously, she growled in hatred of this devil as she spread her wings and leaped back to the air. She quickly hovered behind the monster and firmly grasped its deadly tail in her claws, then beat her wings with great effort, and began to ascend into the dark and hazy sky with her enemy in tow. The beast sluggishly growled and thrashed as it recovered from her prior assault, tried to stop her from doing whatever she intended to do...but Dormin itself would be hard pressed to stop her now as she soared higher and higher into the thick fog of smoke and ash, until at last she could not bear to go any further.
Then, she arced over backward, and let gravity pull her back down toward earth...faster...faster. Once they reached a speed that Avion doubted even she would survive, she let her enemy go and pulled up as sharply as possible, away from the furious bellowing behind her - which was lost in the thunderous crash of impact several heartbeats later. Even in the air, and at her speed and distance, the guardian could feel her armor vibrate ever so slightly as the subsonic shockwave passed.
She allowed the tremors to subside before turning and heading back toward the great plume of smoke and debris where she knew the fiend rested. Her anger rose again as she came within sight of the demon, but her brief flight was a reprieve that helped to calm her from her fit of fury, and she thought more clearly of what to do in order to end this abomination. As she slowed to a halt in midair, observing the creature laying on its side, her eyes were drawn again to its studded tail...and a particularly cruel idea came to her. Ordinarily, she would firmly chastise herself for ever thinking such a vengeful and barbaric thought; but at this point it was abundantly clear that her enemy had no moral inhibition, and so she would have no choice but to set her own aside.
She set down on the ground beside the fallen devil, and once again took its tail in her wing; lifting the appendage high and then slamming it forcefully down, embedding roughly half its spikes in the ground while the rest jutted up and out. Now for the painful part...she hobbled over to the beast's main body, carefully and with some effort slid the tip of her wing beneath its shoulder - taking care not to bring her fur too close to the extreme heat of its body, lest she burn or ignite herself - and pushed upward with all the strength she could muster. It was difficult; her wings were made for carrying air beneath them as she flew, not lifting the mass of another creature her size...but pushing up with her wing and down with her legs, she lifted the demon's bulk free of the ground, and then with the mightiest heave she could give, thrust it up and over and down toward the bed of its own spikes...

*whew*...Bloody bugger, this is getting tough.....I really need to come up with a couple characters who're more suited for kaijuu-to-kaijuu combat.

Valcanus let loose a scream of volcanic fury, molten lava spewing from his hellish maw as he shook the entire city. He burst up from the ground, immediately homing in on Avion and charging. Valcanus slammed into the guardian, ramming his shoulder into it's chest and thrusting forward with such force that his tail ripped out of the ground, throwing huge chunks of earth away behind him. Valcanus slammed his foot down and halted, allowing Avion to fly forward, crashing through a skyscraper and landing on the beach. Valcanus raised his head high and bellowed, magma spires bursting from the ground all around. A walking inferno, Valcanus knew all about flames, spiritual or otherwise- and he knew that a flame burns most violently just before it dies. Valcanus kept that in mind and grinned, black smoke rolling from his spires. Lurching forward, Valcanus stepped over the rubble and onto the beach, patches of sand glazing over under his fiery presence. He reached down and grabbed the protector by it's head and lifted it off the ground, bringing it's eyes to level with his. He stared at the flickering orange lights for a moment, then grunted. Valcanu's jaws swung open and unleashed a torrent of searing heat that blasted Avion out of his hand and threw her down into the sand, smoldering. Valcanus raised both his fists high and bellowed, twin geysers erupting beneath Avion and throwing her off the ground. She flipped, fur smoking, and landed at Valcanus' feet with a thud, face buried in the sand. Valcanus grinned, planting his foot on the bird's head. Releasing a devilish sound like laughter, Valcanus prepared to squash the colossi's skull beneath his foot- but something caught his attention. Valcanus lifted his foot off, backed up a step and snorted. He sensed something... another combatant was arriving. Valcanus raised his head and bellowed furiously, challenging whatever dared to interrupt his battle.

Thaussian loud roar bellowed across the arena as he stepped into combat. The ground as he advanced forward. Thaussian turned to face Valcanus, who seemed prime to fight. On the ground was the downed beast Avion. Thaussian looked at both, then let out a roar. He advanced forward.
He came upon Valcanus first, who roared at the charging zombie cyborg. Thaussian's grabbed out with his hand, taking hold of Valcanus by the throat. Thaussian bellowed as he used his ongoing charge to his advantage, slamming Valcanus down hard into the ground. Valcanus snorted in a dazed state. Thaussian let go of the lava monster and stood straight up, turning to the downed Avion.
Thaussian roared and stomped over to the downed bird-like creature. His chainsaw began rotating and Thaussian moaned. He jammed his chainsaw into Avion's chest, tearing into it. As he did, he grabbed Avion's wing with his other arm and lifted upwards. He roared and tossed the bird-like beast into Valcanus, who was beginning to rise up from the ground from the previous attack. The bird slammed into Valcanus, both crashing to the ground in a pile.
Thaussian let out a roar and fired his acidic bolt at the pile of monsters. If nothing was done, the acid would splash all over the kaiju...
