Ah yes, a nice sunny day in the city of New York. The mechanical behemoth known as Mecha Megaguirus made its way into the proud city; the creation's scientists were running a test today in the fine city. The sentient being released a shrill mechanical screech, alerting the fair citizens of this city of her presence. MM perches atop a skyscraper, waiting for an opponent to test out on...

[Inferno Rodan]

With a flash of light, a huge, purple dinosaur appears on top of a skyscraper. Gwangi glares at the metallic insect for a moment before another flash goes off next to him. This time, Inferno Rodan appears and perches on the building next to Gwangi. With that, Gwangi teleports away, leaving the two flyers to their business.

[Monster Master]

Opteryx casually flies into the clouds and looks at both of them, especially IR. Fight.

[Soundwave]

With a screech, the sentient dragonfly advances towards her opponent. To start this match, the robot clamps her iron jaws around Inferno Rodan's right shoulder. The bird yelps in pain as the jagged iron fangs penetrate flesh, the cold steel feeling strange against IR's skin. Spurts of blood erupt from the penetration wounds, and a lingering stinging sensation radiates in unison to the blood leakage.

After a few moments of Mecha Megs clamping her jaws, jerking her head to the sides violently to amplify IR's pain, the bloody-mouthed robot releases her clamp but grabs hold of Inferno Rodan. MM ascends a considerable distance with her foe before descending; with each passing moment the two gain speed. At the last second, Mecha Megs' releases her opponent and pulls up, leaving Inferno Rodan to crash into the pavement at Mach 4...

[Inferno Rodan]

As MM releases him, Inferno Rodan spreads his wings out to their full length. There's no way he can avoid the impact, but at least this would slow him and reduce the impact slightly. With a deafening crash, the pterosaur slams into the ground. The resulting shockwave shatters the surrounding buildings and kicks up a cloud of dust and debris.

When the dust settles, MM is shocked by what she sees. Inferno Rodan stands tall in the center of a hundred-meter-wide impact crater. The Samurai of the Skies would not be so easily put down. Lifting his wings and throwing his head back, Inferno Rodan releases a thunderous cry. With a flap of his mighty wings, he launches himself into the sky.

Shocked by her opponent's quick recovery and attack, MM is unable to react. Inferno Rodan strikes her head-on, burying his beak in the underside of her thorax. Before MM can counter, Inferno Rodan rips his beak from her body, taking a mouthful of wires with it.

With that, he zips away from MM, turns, and fires his Inferno Beam at her.

[Soundwave]

MM rolls away in the sky, avoiding the beam. In a moment's notice, compartments open around the tail. Smoke envelops the appendage as a multitude of missiles exit from the compartment. The wave of missiles streams towards Inferno Rodan before crashing into the wounded right shoulder in addition to the wing membrane and head. Inferno Rodan howls as the shoulder wound's stinging sensation magnifies. There were visible areas of scorched membrane scattered around Rodan's wings.

Mecha Megaguirus zips to behind Inferno Rodan. Before the dinosaur could turn, Mecha Megs grabs IR by the shoulders to keep him in place. Suddenly, the tail lunges forward, attempting to stab IR right in the back to assimilate energy...

[Inferno Rodan]

But Inferno Rodan has other plans. He suddenly takes off the the side, the jerk causing the stinger to miss its mark. It is not enough to dislodge MM, but that's just as well. He'll gladly take his opponent for a ride.

Inferno Rodan flies in low and fast over the harbor area of the city before rolling over and scraping MM against the pavement and smashing her through multiple buildings. The robotic insect's grip understandably begins to loosen as she is used as a proverbial plow at supersonic speeds, and it isn't long before she lets go altogether.

After flipping back over and gaining some altitude, Inferno Rodan banks to the side and comes back around to his fallen opponent. He swoops down and grips MM's tail in his talons then ascends again, accelerating as he heads toward a cluster of skyscrapers with MM in tow. Once getting within a couple hundred meters of the buildings, he makes a sudden turn, swinging MM around and releasing her, sending her hurtling toward them at immense speed.

Mecha Megaguirus braces herself before impact. She crashes right through the structures, sending them tumbling into the street. Dust filled the air when the towers collapsed.

The machine gains control and slows her flight. The bug turns her attention towards her organic opponent. Inferno Rodan cackled in glee from the success of his attack, but he was in for punishment.

MM's optics slowly glisten a golden aura before glowing a pulsating mass of brilliance. Her jaws separated in addition; after a few seconds, a stream of energy streamed out of MM's optics, accompanied by the beam of multi-colored energy. The pair of hyper maser beams impacted with the side of Rodan's cranium while the Mega Buster Ray from the maw collided with Inferno Rodan's left shoulder. The force of the beams pushed Rodan back into a rather large office building.

The beams left Rodan with a sore head and shoulder with areas of blood soaking the points of impact. The beast grunted in annoyance as sharp, large pieces of debris stabbed into his leathery hide.

Mecha Megs screeches in delight before charging at her maximum speed of Mach 4, attempting to use her razor-edged right wing while implementing her blinding speed to give Rodan a nasty, nasty gash...

[Inferno Rodan]

Not in the mood to be sliced open, Inferno Rodan quickly ascends, leaving MM to cleave only air as she passes under him. He then turns around an blasts MM in the back with his Inferno Beam. The mecha-bug is sent crashing to the pavement below, a large portion of her back scorched black by the tremendous heat.

Inferno Rodan then fires a second beam at his downed opponent.

MM uses her speed to dodge the beam. She returns fire with a trio of napalm grenades; one hits Rodan's back, one his face, and one his left shoulder. A wave of flames splashes over the areas of flesh, causing IR to growl from the discomfort. As IR was clearing his vision from the fire, MM hoped that the Mega Buster Ray she sent at IR would go unnoticed and hit his left shoulder...

[Inferno Rodan]

MM's plan works, and the beam hits its mark. The heat from the beam is of of little consequence to Inferno Rodan, but the explosion is still most unpleasant. Roaring in fury, IR launches himself at his mechanical foe.

MM braces for the impact, but at the last moment IR seems to disappear. Before she even knows what is happening, MM is thrown to the side by an incredible impact. A moment later, she is struck by a similar blow, this time from below, sending her upward. Yet another blow comes from the opposite side of the initial strike, sending her back in the direction she came. A final blow comes from above, sending MM crashing to the ground below. The mechanical insect hits the pavement hard, forming an impact crater and sending out a shockwave which obliterates the nearby buildings.

Above, Inferno Rodan circles silently, like a vulture above a carcass, keeping an eye on the ever-growing cloud of concrete dust. He'd used his incredible speed and agility to ram MM from four different directions in a matter of about three seconds.

Now, borrowing a tactic that his opponent had used on him not even a minute ago, Inferno Rodan fires his beam into the center of the dust cloud, hoping to strike MM while she couldn't see it coming.

[Soundwave]

Inferno Rodan was successful; the beam struck Mecha Megaguirus' back. As the dust begins to clear, Inferno Rodan stared eagerly for his opponent. However when it completely cleared, the bug was gone!

Using her exceptional speed, Mecha Megs had zipped out of there unnoticed. MM makes her presence known now, and appears behind IR. She releases a screech to let IR know she was there, before lunging forward. Her metallic pincers clamp shut around IR's shoulders (the previously-wounded right one was especially hurt by this move) while the legs on the thorax stabbed into Inferno Rodan's back.

IR cackled at the penetration of the legs into the skin, which caused pain to pulsate throughout his back. The metallic pincers used the robot's robotic augmented strength to clamp quite hard. The flow of blood started to occur after a few seconds.

IR tried to shake free of the bug's painful assault, but to no avail. While Mecha Megaguirus had her enemy in her metallic grasps, she raises her right claw up before slamming it down hard, intending to slam it down on the right shoulder's bite wound from early on in the match...

[Inferno Rodan]

The chop connects, eliciting a squawk of pain from Inferno Rodan. A moment later, though, his body begins heating up and glowing orange. By the time her sensors register the dangerous levels of heat, it's too late. The surrounding air ignites, resulting in a huge explosion that sends MM flying a kilometer or so away before she crashes to the ground in a smoldering heap. Much of her armor is burnt black, and a few sections on her underside have literally been peeled away by the explosion.

When the light fades, Inferno Rodan hovers in the same place he was prior to the explosion. MM has just learned why Inferno Rodan earned his name. With that, he turns toward his fallen opponent and decides to scorch her some more. So he fires his Inferno Beam at her blackened form.
