Mecha Megaguirus vs. Inferno Rodan

[Soundwave]

Mecha Megs' body spasms from the impact of the heat beam. Despite the damage she has sustained, the mechanical bug had to keep going. She'd need more energy, though. So with that, the bug hovers up and makes her way to Inferno Rodan. The bird squawks as the metallic stinger enters his backside and absorbs energy from the beast; phase one of her combo attack. Next the bug sends off a wave of missiles from her tail, which connect with Rodan's nearby backside and dislodge the kaiju from the stinger, sending IR crashing into a building, collapsing it under his mass.

Mecha Megaguirus screeches in rejuvination (her energy, that is). MM continues her onslaught with some more missiles. The projectiles home in on their downed target...

[Inferno Rodan]

No special attacks in combos.

The missiles hit their mark, blanketing the area in smoke and fire. After several moments, Inferno Rodan explodes from the smoke and streaks toward MM. He fires his beam, striking the mechanical bug in the thorax. MM screeches as the beam melts away at its armor and circuits.

Inferno Rodan ceases firing his beam, but continues on his collision course with MM, accelerating as he does.

[Soundwave]

Mecha Megaguirus darts to the side to try to escape IR's charge but to no avail; Inferno Rodan still manages to connect with Mecha Megaguirus. Mecha Megaguirus floats back before regaining control of her flight and flies forward at her flying opponent. As Mecha Megs flies above her opponent, she rotates so as she flies by, her razor sharp right wing rakes along IR's backside, which instigates a squawk from the dino. Mecha Megs then releases a blast of her Mega Buster Ray, hoping to shoot the bird down...

[Inferno Rodan]

The beam strikes Inferno Rodan's back, causing him to "stumble" a bit before regaining his aerial composure. He then turns around and unleashes his Inferno Beam on MM, melting away more armor.

With a roar, Inferno Rodan flies over MM and grips her head in his talons before diving toward the ground. A hundred meters above the ground, IR does a flip and releases MM, hurling her toward the shattered pavement below.

[Soundwave]

Mecha Megaguirus skids through the pavement, leaving behind a deep ravine in the concrete. The robot releases an emotionless growl as it hovers. She turns her gaze towards her opponent.

Hatches opened around various regions of Mecha Megaguirus' thorax. From the hangars exited a mass army of Mecha Meganula. The drones swarm to their queen's enemy. Some of the robot bugs swarm around IR while others land on him, leaving him no room to move. Suddenly, they glow a shade of gold before detonating. Inferno Rodan howls as the countless number of pesky insects cause damage to his hide; heaps of bloody flesh at various points rocketed from his body and to the ground. The dinosaur fell to the ground, but barely felt the impact because he was too focused on the pain of the previous assault.

Mecha Megaguirus screeches as more of her drones expel from her body. The Mecha Meganula land on various points of Inferno Rodan's body. After a few moments, Inferno Rodan was completely covered. Inferno Rodan gulped as the metallic insects start detonating...

[Inferno Rodan]

Inferno Rodan flails wildly in an attempt to dislodge the small attackers before they can detonate. He's successful to an extent, managing to knock something like half of them off. But the rest of them succeed in their assault, causing Inferno Rodan to howl in pain.

When the smoke clears, Inferno Rodan hovers in place, blood dripping from his new wounds. He glares at MM, fire burning in his eyes. Enough of this.

He launches himself at the mechanized insect, almost instantly accelerating to his top speed of mach 5. However, instead of slamming directly into his foe, he passes underneath her. A moment later, the massive sonic boom he generated impacts MM with incredible force, blasting her higher into the air. Before her upward inertia runs out, Inferno Rodan slams into her from above at nearly top speed. The resulting impact sends out a shockwave which crumbles nearby buildings and leaves MM with a crater in the middle of her back. The force of the blow sends the mecha-bug crashing to the ground, forming a crater on impact.

With that, Inferno Rodan fires an Inferno Beam at his downed foe.

[Soundwave]

MM forces herself to roll, narrowly avoiding the beam. She flies up and bites down on Inferno Rodan's lengthy neck; her metallic pincers close shut on his shoulders while the sharp legs of the mechanical insect penetrate into his side. Mecha Megaguirus ascends to the skies before looping down, going into a speedy descent at Mach 3. She releases her opponent at the perfect time so that she could fly to safety, while IR was left to crash into a few towering buildings. A cloud of dust was kicked up while the structures collapsed on Inferno Rodan. IR groans from the attack. Mecha Megaguirus screeches as she fires off her Mega Buster Ray at IR's exposed back...

[Inferno Rodan]

Whoops...

The beam finds its mark, but its effect is lessened by Inferno Rodan's heat resistance. With that, IR slowly stands up and turns to face his opponent. He flaps his wings and takes off, his body starting to glow. He flies directly toward MM, accelerating to mach 3 as the glow increases in intensity. Before MM can react, Inferno Rodan slams beak-first into her thorax. No sooner does his beak sink into her chest than the energy detonates, ripping away more armor and blasting the mechanical bug away. Before the battered mech even hits the ground, Inferno Rodan fires an Inferno beam at it.

[Soundwave]

Sigh, I'm screwed



Mecha Megaguirus rolls to avoid a full blast of the beam. Instead, a portion of it strikes her side, which was better than a full-on blast I 'spose. The bug returns fire with a pair of maser beams from her optics. The beams splash over IR's eyes, irritating the hell out of them. With IR's sight hindered, he was unaware of the wave of missiles streaming towards him...

[Inferno Rodan]

MM's plan worked, and the missiles strike their target. IR tumbles out of the cloud of smoke a short distance before regaining his aerial stability. He shakes his head to clear the cobwebs before returning his attention to MM.

With a roar, IR launches himself at MM, quickly accelerating to top speed before passing below her in a blurr. A second later, he passes above her, still going mach 5. At the same time, the sonic boom from his first pass catches up to MM, blasting her with its power. The sonic boom from his second pass follows a moment later, rocking her once again and sending her tumbling to the ground below.

IR then goes for a third pass over the downed mech.

[Soundwave]

As IR approached, MM knocks him out of the sky with a concentrated shot of the Mega Buster Ray to his face. The bird lost control and spiraled through building after building before coming to a stop. The bird rested in a pile of broken glass and concrete, feeling sore from the high-speed crashing through buildings. The bug grabs hold of IR and jabs her stinger out, intending to sting IR's back...

[Inferno Rodan]

Apparently the mechanical insect didn't learn from her previous attempt at this. Oh well. The stinger penetrates his back, causing him to squawk in pain, but it's nothing compared to what MM is about to feel. His body begins to glow orange, the intensity of the heat turning the surrounding rubble to molten slag. After a couple moments, the energy reaches critical mass and detonates in a gigantic fireball. MM is send flying backwards, several new holes ripped and melted into her frame.

As MM smacks into the pavement a kilometer or so away, IR slowly rises off the ground and fires his Inferno Beam at the downed mech.
