The city was in the midst of a nice, calm, and sunny day. Nice, fluffy clouds drifted slowly in the blue sky, people went about their nice lives, and the attitudes were the type angles had.. But unfortunately for the humans, a figure of terror was approaching. In the distance, Cell looked over his shoulder, watching on as a group of helicopters trailed him. He let out a snarl at the pursers before alarms began to blare in the city.
The humans looked around, confused and not knowing what to do. A ball of fire drifted into the peace sky, covering the blue with a blanket of black. Cell's insect-like hand smashed through a building as its centipede-like tail began to spew silk everywhere.

Panic and chaos rapidly displaced the relative calm and peace of before, as the deformed mutant beast began its rampage. Sirens howled their alert as pedestrians and vehicles alike ran over, around, and through each other in their desperate bid to reach safety, and law enforcement had next to no hope of maintaining order in such calamity.
At that moment, another noise began to cut through the cacophony of terrified screams, sounding even above the guttural snarling of the genetic monstrosity...a low, throaty rumble that somehow caused everyone to stop in their tracks and wonder what it was, and where it was coming from. It was deep and resounding, but lacking the anger and ferocity of the hellbeast that now wrought havoc...more like the mournful howl of a wolf.
Law enforcement quickly took the opportunity of the moment of relative calm to begin herding everyone to safety, especially since the massive abomination itself seemed to be distracted...but as the citizenry evacuated, those who lingered behind or bothered to look back could see another towering shape approaching. It was tall, vaguely humanoid, covered from head to toe in weathered stone armor; and its right hand appeared to be a huge carved length of rock, that might have served as a primitive weapon.
It was cumbersome and ungainly in appearance, but it moved determinedly and with purpose. Earth trembled and shuddered under its heavy footsteps, and the people still in its path hastily made way for it as it strode through the city, apparently on a path for the ugly mutated beast. It came to a stop several hundred meters from the other creature, as the two sized each other up.
'Gaius...the duty of the divine now rests upon thy sword. Freest the soul of this tortured deformation...and let they who would birth a monster such as this know their folly.'
Gaius' eyes came alight, two hollow pentagons shining a pale blue. Slowly, its head twisted to the left, and then to the right, producing what sounded like a minor earthquake as the kinks were worked out of its joints. A low, keening growl issued from the throat of the ancient Colossus...and the residents of the city needed no further convincing that they should flee.
The time of divine judgment was nigh...

The mighty Gaius slowly tensed its left hand, cracking the joints of its stubby fingers, then lifted its head and gazed to the sky. An eerie dark haze began to settle all around them, and clouds of blackness swarmed into the skies. Droplets of water began to fall from heaven...light and intermittent at first, but steadily increasing in intensity, from a light shower, to a moderate rain, finally into a ceaseless torrential downpour. Now the only illumination that could come from the sky would be the lethal flash of thunderbolts.
Water dripped from its soaked fur and cascaded off its stone armor as the Earth Knight's gaze lowered down from the heavens, back to its foe: the abominable monster that threatened to wreak havoc on this city.
Dormin would not have it. So nor would Gaius.
Heedless of the water that must have added tons of weight to its already-enormous mass, the Colossus mustered its strength and began to stride forward again. As the distance closed between it and its enemy, the giant brought its great sword to bear and made ready to strike. But the monstrosity, who had clearly seen its foe's advance and would have to be a plain fool to allow such a telegraphed blow to land, instinctively raised its arms in defense...
...
...A minute passed. The blow never fell. Slowly the monster lowered its guard to see what had happened--
--and Gaius seized the moment. Its braced left arm swung down, then up, and slammed a powerful uppercut right into the hapless beast's jaw before it had time to realize that the sword attack was but a feint. The Earth Knight had existed for many centuries, and grown quite accustomed to the relative sluggishness of its stride, and the weight of the armor and weapon it was made to bear for all its time. It had wandered the world, bore witness to countless struggles between wild beasts and humans alike, and been a part of many struggles itself - some quite brutal. As its worn and weathered armor testified, it was a veteran of untold battles. And true to its name - 'Earth Knight' - it was born to be a warrior.
The deformed creature fell back, howling as it collapsed against one of the many sizable buildings - some of them larger than the greatest beasts ever to exist, Colossi or otherwise - and from there slumped painfully to the street, its skin grating painfully against the wall of the structure that caught it. As it squirmed and wallowed in pain, Gaius took notice of one of the beast's three tails: wriggling and writhing as though it had a will of its own, it looked more like a separate creature entirely than a mere extension of this...thing. And he'd seen the entangling silk that the appendage spewed from its orifice...perhaps it would behoove him to eliminate it first.
With that in mind, Gaius maneuvered backward a couple of steps, both to give himself room for a powerful strike and to place him beyond any immediate retaliation from the enemy, then reared his right arm back, carefully keeping his weapon at the proper angle, then with a rumble of exertion, swung his arm up and forward and then down in more of a hammerblow than a sword swing, to send all of his "blade" smashing down upon the worming, wiggling appendage. This time, it was no feint.

Cell's maw released a grunt before it fully opened. Saliva, mixed with the rain, fell from its yellow teeth as its forked tongue swirled in its maw. A bolt of lightning fell from the heavens below just as the tongue leaped from its gapping mouth. The long appendage spiraled around itself once before wrapping around the colossus' throat. His hand immediately came up, gripping the wet, saliva-covered attack between his fingers.
With surprising strength, Cell lifted its body off of the ruined building and stood up. It shifted its stance and turned around and bent over. The long, centipede like creature that acted as a tail released a clicking sound before strands of silk began to fly. The tongue of the abomination released Gaius and snapped around Cell's turned body and fell back into its maw.
The giant's arm, pinned against its own chest and neck, tried to move as the centipede continued its assault. More weight being added to the juggernaut, he fell back like a giant red wood. The ground quaked and surrounding buildings crumbled like a house of cards.
Cell turned around and let out a purring-like noise of softness as its eyes starred holes into the being's build. Its large bulk shook and cleared the dust from its fur before its two, octopus-like tentacles coiled around the giant's legs. He then began to drag him, to where, Cell had no idea, but his eyes were looking at one of the largest buildings in the city.

Gaius growled and rumbled as he continued to try to pull his arm free of the sticky silk that bound it to his neck where he had been throttled by the enemy a moment ago...but the webbing was thick and tough, not giving easily even under his great strength. And the beast itself continued to drag him along as captured prey...to do what, he could only guess: but he guessed that it would bode no good for him.
Seeing that he wasn't going to immediately free himself like this, and not willing to simply allow this monstrosity to have its way with him, Gaius raised his right arm as high as he could from his position on the ground, then aimed his sword downward and thrust the weapon into the asphalt, hoping to bring the beast to a halt. It was stalled for a brief instant, but merely grunted and pulled harder - and Gaius found himself being lifted up from the street as the tip of his sword was planted too firmly to simply slide across the ground.
It wasn't quite what he planned on, but he could still see an opportunity to free himself and exact revenge: he quickly braced himself and then pushed up from the ground with his sword-arm, lurching all the way upright and then stumbling forward into his foe's back. The monster grunted and turned halfway to face him, but he would give it no chance to put him back down: bringing his weapon to bear again, he thrust and smashed it in the face with the hilt of his blade. The mutant beast howled, but the Earth Knight did not relent, rearing back and smashing its face in again and again, a total of four more times.
Gaius sensed the grip of his foe's tentacles on his legs slacken, and wasted no time yanking his feet free. Dazed, the ugly beast began to fall over to the side - right against the side of a towering structure, easily as tall as both of them combined. Before it could have the chance to slump to the ground or regain its footing, Gaius maneuvered back a bit to give himself room, then raised his sword, braced, and swung with all his great strength in a terrific horizontal blow that would smash this deformation's abused head between the tip of his blade and the wall of the building...

A popping-sound echoed throughout the structure as a spurt of blood squirted from between the heavy weapon and the building. The blood spray painted a trail of gore on the walls before the building itself began to fall backward from the blow. Cell's head hurt like a bitch, but he wasn't down yet. In mid-fall he caught himself and swung his large, muscular arm up and gripped the center of the large weapon to hold himself up.
The mutant decided to show his enemy that he has his own form of deadly attacks..
Its spider leg-like spear lanced out from his side, aimed for the chest. What little armor covered that area was parted, allowing the weapon to stab into the flesh and spill blood. The impaling weapon pulled out, now dripping with fluid as the guardian stormed backward.
As he backed away, Cell snorted and roared. His larger hand beat his own chest in pride before he took chase. Maw wide and spear ready to repeat the previous process.

The stormy sky flashed with thunder.....rain mixed and mingled with the black blood spurting and oozing from the crack in the Colossus' armor.....and the great guardian's eyes changed from placid blue, to angry orange.
The first heavy blows had been traded. No doubt remained any more...this battle would end in death. The only question was, whose.
The abominable monster seemed to grin in spite of its own injuries as it came forward, its spindly stabbing appendage preparing to have another go at him...but now that at least his sword-arm was free, not being held for support by the enemy, he could do something about it. The Earth Knight quickly brought his weapon up and parried the vicious blow: his arm shuddered, and chips of stone flew out as the thin pointed limb ended up embedded in the hilt of his blade.
Before it could pull its limb free, Gaius jerked his sword down flat against the ground, and then lifted his leg high and stomped with all his strength upon the spindly appendage. A sickening crack resounded above the pitter-patter of the rain, followed close by the pained howl of the creature - which itself was matched by the booming rumble of thunder.
Still pinning the spear down with his foot, Gaius pulled his sword free from it, shifted his other leg around for better balance, then quickly assessed which portion of this abomination looked most vulnerable to a good hard jab from his weapon...deciding on the left leg - noting that the thin stabbing limb protruded from that side also - and thrusting his sword like a spear, right for the kneecap...

A unearthly howl erupted from Cell's feline-like maw as the blade stabbed in. Fortunately he managed to lower his leg somewhat so the blade entered above the knee, instead of directly into it. A stream of blood began to spray out, an even larger geyser coming fourth as the blade was torn out.
Raged beyond control, Cell's large hand clenched into a ball of might. The fingers gripping hard as his hand formed a large, muscular fist. The fist smashed into Gaius' head, sending a shower of armor flying in every direction.
The behemoth leaned himself upward and wrapped his insect-like hand around Gaius' neck and held the back of his head. The clenched fist came up again, smashing hard into the giant's face once more. The armor began to crack, and a third blow finally broke it, allowing a stream of gore to fall from the colossus' chin.
The fist came again, this time doing much more damage. Once more it came before the hand holding the giant up released him. The giant fell back, blood smeared across his broken face. Cell's head leaned back, his mighty call defeating that of the booming crashes that the thunder made.
Its large leg lifted up and carried him forward. With a cry of rage he lifted his muscular leg, ready to crush the hero's head with it.

Er, just to point this out...if you look at Gaius' picture and read his profile, his sword isn't actually a 'sword' per se; it's just basically a big long club. I guess it's just called a sword because Gaius himself is sort of designed after a knight; and even his Latin name, Terrestris Veritas, roughly means "Earth Knight". So, it may be called a sword, but it has no fine tip or real sharp edges, or otherwise anything to make it like an actual blade.
Anyway...
---
Blood and rain matted the fur of the Colossus' face, oozing and sliding unevenly from the wounds inflicted by this abominable creature's assault...any watching eyes might have wondered if they could also see tears of pain in the giant's glowing orbs. Littering the street around it, easily mistakable for just random pieces of debris from this destructive clash...pieces of the weathered stone armor, hewn and forged ages ago, having endured the tests of countless centuries.
Smashed and battered asunder by this brute's horrific power and single-minded ferocity. The living monument to a god's great power had been defiled and molested.
That did it.
Gaius' bright amber eyes changed once again...fading entirely into blank and soulless hollows. But this did not at all mean that the giant had been slain: as the grotesque monstrosity's foot came thrusting down to finish off its foe, it failed to pay heed to the Colossus' own leg thrusting up from behind, smashing its own foot square into the back of the beast's leg.
Its foot came down, but with not near the force that was intended; and on Gaius' battered torso armor instead of his exposed face as the leg cramped up in response to its sensitive joint taking a vicious blow. The monster roared in pain and frustration as it could not even remain standing upright, leaning far over and having to catch itself with a powerful arm. While it wobbled and struggled to keep its balance, the Earth Knight issued a low, throaty rumble, that built up to a growl, and then a howling cry, as the bulge beneath the sticky silk around its neck wormed and shuddered--
--and its arm tore free of the soggy, messy trappings.
The Colossus' eyes remained hollow and blank, but it moved with more energy and ferocity than ever before: its now-free arm reached up and grasped the back of the leg that still sat upon its chest - the weak link of the monster's support now - and gave a fierce push. The beast howled again as it fell over, flailing with its many limbs, fumbling for purchase that was not to be found as it crashed clumsily to the ground(note: no damage done here). With a moment of reprieve, Gaius set about tearing and discarding the remains of the sticky webbing from his body, and then climbing back to his feet.
He shook his head from side to side, slinging away bits of blood and useless armor that still clung to his face, and leered with soulless eyes upon his enemy on the ground. Turning to glance behind him for a second, he spied another tall structure a short distance away...and looking back to his foe, he knew what to do next. He didn't wish to destroy this great city, but he was going to do whatever it took to end this foul abomination before him. And the broken structures could be rebuilt...unlike his broken armor.
He crouched down and slid his long sword beneath the body of his foe, then stepped back and lifted the entire monster from the ground with a heave of effort. He began to whirl around in place a couple of times to build up speed, and then with a roar of great strength, hurled the massive beast far through the air, toward the great building. These structures were sturdy enough for him to smash its grotesque head between them and his strong sword; colliding with one of them at terrific speed was certain to do some damage.

The result was something like that one would expect to see in a cartoon. The arms and legs of Cell stretched to the sides of the building as the center of his body exploded into the towering structure. A 'crater' was formed on the pillar of steel and cement before the beast fell backward. The crater was painted with a grisly picture of red ooze, and a tail of the fluid followed the abomination to the ruined, but packed streets below. A plum of smoke and dust rose into the air, but if the guardian thought he had the beast taken, he was about to see that much, much more needed to be done.
The hero stood tall as the wind carried clouds of dust and streams of blood from his ruined armor. Minutes slowly passed with no movement from the genetic freak, but as the dust slowly began to dissipate, the towering monster walked forward. Its over-bite drooled waterfall-levels of drool. Blood dripped from dozens of open wounds and gashes on its front side. Its Chameleon eye was locked on the living statue.
The monster snarled, the snarl turning into a ferocious battle cry as he charged forward with surprising speed. The giant was un-prepared, not expecting this thing to move at such high speeds. The arms wrapped around the giant and pulled him onto his shoulder. His large, beetle-like pincers emerged from his neck and shoulder, holding the being in place as he continued to charge forward.
Boom! The first building the beast smashed the statue through shattered as if glass. The second soon followed, and then the third. Chunks of armor and flesh vanished from the giant's body before the huge mandibles released him and he was allowed to slump some. His larger, gorilla-like arm wrapped around his back and picked up back up, his head nearly touching the base of the tails.
He was then thrown downward. His entire body lifting upward into the air as Cell body-slammed him. The ground shuck violently, the surrounding stores collapsing in one themselves as the armor was put to the test. The hero slowly moved his side-to-side as blood began to fall from his mouth.
Cell stepped back and grunted. His own blood was drying at the wounds, and the battle was starting to grow old. He turned around, showing off his large centipede-of-a-tail. The creature shrieked before it began to spray its webbing at the giant.

The Colossus groaned, a low, mournful sound of pain...but its arms and legs shifted as it prepared to rise again. Its movements slowed, no thanks in part to the irritating silk the enemy unleashed upon it, but it got its feet back beneath it, and slowly stood straight and tall. This beast was strong and brutal, no doubt...but it was sadly mistaken if it thought brute strength and ferocity alone would win this battle.
The living mountain began to stride forward again, absolutely heedless of the webbing that pelted and plastered it; only pausing to tear the netting from its body when it became layered so thickly as to impede its dexterity. As it drew closer, the creature finally seemed to take the hint that this wasn't going to stop its enemy, and ceased spewing the material--
--too late. Gaius suddenly lurched forward and grasped the head of the wormlike appendage with his stubby fingers before it could withdraw. He closed his hand tight around its throat, and the living extension of the monster's body could not spit anything but strangled squeals and shrieks. The beast took obvious exception to this, as it issued an indignant roar and made ready to attack--
--when its battle cry was choked off, and its charge abruptly halted, as the Earth Knight thrust the tip of his weapon right into the monster's open maw, nearly gagging the creature. He pushed his right arm as far as it would reach, keeping the monstrosity at bay while his left hand grasped the head of the living tail tight. He then proceeded to smash it against the hilt of his weapon again and again and again.
When he finished, he released the tip of the tail...watched as it slumped lifelessly to the ground, oozing blood and loose teeth from its orifice. He then looked up at the creature before him, still struggling to pull his sword from its mouth. He abruptly jerked his weapon from side to side, jerking the monster's head with it, just to keep it off balance for his next maneuver: before it could recover and react, he crouched down, mustered all the strength he could gain in his legs, and leaped forth from the ground, toward his enemy. Still being gagged by his sword, the beast was pushed back and over, beginning to fall...and once its head hit the ground, it would suffer the painful impact of all the Colossus' weight coming down upon the tip of the weapon buried in its maw.

The freak continued to gag and choke, but he had one last thing he could use at his disposal that his foe wasn't expecting. A last-ditch, defensive attack that he had yet to unleash. In mid-fall, the beast managed to keep himself somewhat erect thanks to the large wings on its back that had, after years of uselessness, found their use of balance. To aid in this, Cell's arm shot downward, pressing against the ground and preventing the guardian from crushing his maw.. and his head.
Now is when the defensive move came into play. As bubble of saliva ran down his head, his large, chameleon-like eye looked up at the guardian's. They were yards away, but this next strike would keep the being at bay for several minutes. A popping sound came from the eye as he broke his own blood vessel. A stream of red blood shot upward, the fluid landing directly in the giant's eyes.
At once, the being threw itself backward. The weapon grinded against Cell's teeth, snapping a few of them as it pulled out. His hand clutched his face, his vision was now lessened. To make matters worse, Cell righted himself. He groaned and snarled again as another stream of blood sprayed out, landing on the giant's chest and stomach. Several other squirts came, but they didn't reach the target and splashed on the ruined streets.
Gaius turned around, still clutching his face as he tried to remove the blood that was now burning his eye. Blinded, he seemed helpless as Cell began to throw itself forward. Limping on the ground, he lifted the large spear and pointed it forward. When the two collide, the weapon should be impaled into his chest.
