Angrily working his jaws, blood and globs of glue falling from his mouth, Gorgon looked up to see the oncoming tail jab and slithered out of the way, though just barely. The tail spike struck the ground where his neck had once been, missing by mere inches. Gorgon spat out a glob of greenish goo on the ground and glared up at Mucus, angry and disgusted. So, the brainless slimeball couldn't even think up an attack of it's own? How irritating...
Gorgon snorted, shook his head, and charged. Leaping into the air, Gorgon spread his wings and glided, lengthening his pounce and sending him right on top of his foe. Gorgon slammed into the worm with a loud thud, his horn piercing the worm's so-called armor. Gravity and brute force did the rest. Gorgon came down to the ground, pulled by his weight and by the strength of his coiling body. As he came down to the ground, his bladed horn sliced down the length of the worm's stomach. Blood sprayed everywhere as Gorgon's horn cut the worm like a sword. Gorgon pulled back, retrieving blade from victim. The worm fell backwards, a long, bloody gash running down nearly a fourth of the creature's body. Gorgon made a disgusting noise, like the one you might hear a person make as they're hawking a loogie. Then, with visible effort, Gorgon threw up a foul ball of slime and goo, exhaling the liquids that had been keeping his jaws shut. His jaws were free again, but he'd have to wait to use them.

Mucus let out a whale-like sound as it backed away, the loogie splashed at its front side. Various greens and yellows oozed from its cut, but Dr. Rudolph's prize worm was far from dead. Like a fish into water, Mucus quickly dove into the ground. The dragon hissed loudly and looked around, but his enemy was gone completely.
It then felt it. A sharp, lightning bolt of pain raced up to its mind. It opened its maw to cry aloud, but only a gurgle came out. Stabbed into its flesh, just below the jaw, Mucus' tail spear was embedded, the rest of the worm was safely beneath the ground. As blood dropped into the hole, another whale-like call came from the hole..
Like a fisherman rolling in its cash, Mucus began to drag Gorgon down. The squirming dragon hissed as the worm threatened to break its neck by pulling it into the hole.

Gorgon's wings shuddered, his clawed fingers digging into the ground as his tail coiled around the remains of a small building and tried to anchor. Gorgon snorted loudly, a faint spray of blood leaving his nostrils. The worm was strong... but so was Gorgon. Driving through the pain as adrenaline pumped wildly through his veins, Gorgon fought back in a grotesque game of tug-of-war. Gorgon's neck muscles flexed and his veins bulged, his claws tore sank into the soil and his tightening coils began to crush the building he was holding onto. Gorgon lifted himself up from the looming danger of the hole and, somewhat reluctantly, tilted back his head. Mucus' tail slid out and raced back to the darkness as the worm pulled, thinking he had his prey for sure. Blood ran down Gorgon's neck, trickling over the dried blood of his other wounds. Opening his jaws wide, blood and saliva pouring off his bottom jaw like water from a cup, Gorgon shot an explosive blast of energy down the hole. The paralysis blast descended into the earth, briefly illuminating the tunnel around it before colliding with the subterannean monster's recoiling tail. The bright flash of light was forced up the whole and faded in the sunlight as the blast struck, freezing the muscles in Mucus' tail, temporarily making the harpoon-like apendage lame and useless. Gorgon staggered back from the hole and roared maniacally, flexing the muscles in his arms and licking the blood from his teeth. The worm was a powerful foe, but Gorgon refused to back down. So long as the winged serpent drew in breath, he would make the worm's life a stinging, blood-stained hell.

Time seemed to stop for Gorgon as he continued to look around. The worm seemed to be gone.. But that was just wishful thinking for Gorgon and the surviving humans.
Without warning, without mercy.. Mucus' body erupted from the ground as if a he was some sort of deranged, desert-dwelling fish related to the dolphin. Gorgon cried aloud as the worm's jaws clamped on the back of his skull, smashing him into the hole. Ion Alcohol began to pour into its eyes, making the dragon cry in pain as the stinging increased.
But Mucus didn't stop. The much longer of the two, Mucus continued to drag Gorgon into the darkness beneath the ruins.

Gorgon howled and writhed, and as he did, stabbed at the worm's coiling body with his spines. Soon the giant invertebrate was regretting it's decision to wrap around him. Gorgon's spikes, poison coated daggers forged for sole cause of bringing pain and suffering, dug into Mucus' body all over, cutting through hide and sending searing waves of concentrated pain through the worm's skin. Gorgon slipped from the worm's clutches, hissing furiously as he pulled himself out and away from the hole. He could see the skin around the many puncture wounds on Mucus' body welt up and turn red. For a split second, Gorgon reveled in his foes agony, but then went back on guard and braced himself for the next attack.

Mucus remained under the dirt, keeping himself from his enemy's view. This dragon was strong. Stronger than both Slag and Razor, but it would not win. Its body was reeked with pain, streams of fluid, some his own and some of Gorgon's, fell from the sides of his tri-jawed maw. It moved around, shaking its body to regain feeling and rid itself of the stinging sensation. He had forgotten about Gorgon's toxins.. he would not make that mistake again.
A minute passed. Then a second, and then a third. Gorgon hissed as he looked side-to-side, expecting Mucus to burst from the ground at any time, but then he felt it. The worm's tail had regained its feeling, and now exploded from the ground beneath Gorgon's slithering body. The dragon cried in pain and fell to the side as Mucus pulled its spear out, the hole quickly filling with the dragon's blood.
As he fell, Mucus' front side exploded from the first hole, its jaws opened wide and ready to latch on Gorgon's throat.

Gorgon roared and lashed out with his tail, a lightning bolt with scales and spines. His tail wrapped around the trunk of the worm's upper body, near the head, and constricted, digging in his stinging spines as he held the worm's snapping jaws away from his neck. With a strong, painful grip secured, Gorgon heaved the worm away and towards the ground below. Gorgon slammed Mucus' face hard into the ground and, before the lost teeth flying from his mouth could fall to the earth, heaved him the opposite direction and slammed him into the ground again. His combo complete and his enemy's face battered, bruised, and bloody, Gorgon whipped his tail back, relinquishing his hold on the monster worm. Mucus fell to the ground, a pool of it's own blood welling up around it's motionless head. Gorgon lowered his head and snorted, watching his enemy closely...

Mucus remained still for some time. Minutes passed before it finally moved again, and Gorgon had been foolish enough to let it relieve itself of the poisons. Without warning, Mucus' tail threw itself upward and stabbed into Gorgon's already wounded throat. The monster cried in pain as the tail twisted itself, enhancing the pain before the worm dove into the ground again.. It then began to move.. circling the dragon, awaiting for a safe point to launch itself out and attack.

Gorgon hissed, blood dripping from it's neck. The worm was circling below him, he could feel the vibrations, hear it tunneling under the soil. It knew he could not harm it while it was burried... but the worm seemed to forgot that Gorgon could play that game too. Spreading his massive, leathery wings, Gorgon lifted off the ground and into the sky. He flapped and soared, rising in the sky, gaining altitude. He ascended far beyond the worm's reach- even if the giant invertebrate were to burst out of the ground and extend it's long body, it's lunge would fall short. Gorgon breathed slowly and calmly, inhaling the cool air of the higher elevation as he watched the earth below him. If the worm decided to show itself again, he'd fire off a paralysis blast and snipe the beast, immobilizing it from a distance...

Mucus body rose up from the dirt and looked around. Its enemy was now playing hardball, but the worm, for being a worm, was a rather smart worm.. especially for being a worm. Its other side emerged from the ground too, its tail stabbed into a large, very big, very round rock.
It was a long shot, but what-the-hell. Its tail flung the rock at Gorgon, and there was the hit! Not very good, but a hit at least. The dragon fell from the sky, and as it did so, Mucus' tail pointed upward, aiming to impale the dragon when it landed.

Gorgon's wings suddenly spread out, glistening green razor blades slicing through the air. He turned sharply, guiding his course from dead-on-collision to flying parallel to the ground. As he turned, his tail, heavy and at the end of his body, came last and lowest. The big spiky club slammed into the side of Mucus' outstretched tail-tip, driven furiously by gravity. Blood splattered and flesh was pummeled as the terrible blow connected, throwing the massive worm's eager tail back down to the earth. Gorgon soared overhead, turned around in the air to face his foe again, and fired off a paralysis blast towards him...

Like a clever fish avoiding a shark, Mucus dove into the ground, his body vanishing beneath the rock and dirt as the beam exploded on the ground. As the dragon flew forward, ready to pull up, the worm's body burst from the ground. It's tri-jaws clamped onto the serpent's midsection, drinking on its blood while alcohol made the wound bleed and sting even more. The worm pulled down, letting Gorgon fall to the ground and moan as a pool of fluid formed beneath its body. Beneath it, Mucus readied himself, slowly moving about, ready to strike again..

Gorgon growled, digging his claws into the dirt and pulling himself up. He backed up, cringing. He had lost a lot of blood. No matter- if he got out of this alive, his wounds would heal in a few days, and he'd be in top fighting shape again in no time. Unless the worm could regrow lost teeth, it's tri-jawed smile would never be the same again. A wicked grin spread across Gorgon's face as he thought of that and pushed through the pain, back into the fight. Gorgon plunged his head down into the worm's hole, piercing it's sanctuary with open jaws and insatiable rage. His foe, lurking just below the surface, was now discovered. Gorgon felt the monster's head bump against his and, with a blood-curdling hiss, bit down hard on the closed jaws of his enemy. Above the surface, Gorgon dug his claws deeper and deeper into the ground, arm and neck muscles flexing. Gorgon pulled with all his might, heaving the worm from it's cavernous hideout. Like a bird plucking a worm from the soil, Gorgon pulled Mucus' head and upper body up from the earth as it's other half struggled to remain underground. Gorgon flexed his mighty body, all muscle and spike, and swung forward with his tail. His bone club thrust into Mucus' chest-region as his jaws let go, allowing the invertebrate kaiju to let out a gutural "graooooophhhh" as the blow struck, throwing it's unsubmerged half down to the ground. Gorgon stumbled back, breathing hard, and let out a powerful, triumphant roar. He shook his head, raising all his bristly spines and readying himself for the next attack.

Mucus' black eyes remained still, its tri-jaws barely open, and its long body twitched from time to time. The mighty serpent cackled in glee, thinking it had won. The beast had made the same mistake though.. the top half was visible, but the 500-some meters that weren't had snaked their way under the ground. Gorgon's roars were cut short as Mucus' tail spear stabbed into the base of the skull. Blood and saliva exploded from its maw as its throat was breached. The tail was removed and pulled back into the ground as its body slumped forward, more blood pouring from its body. Mucus' head reared up, hissing loudly as it fell forward, maw prepared to bite Gorgon's throat.

Gorgon howled and instinctively assumed his defensive position- wings folded, head lowered... horn pointing outwards. Mucus' oncoming mouth found no flesh, but plenty of hard, sharp bone. The giant worm gagged as Gorgon's cranial blade rammed into his throat, jabbing tender, unprotected flesh and spilling blood. Gorgon grunted, noticing the wound his foe had accidentally set on himself, and then thrusted forward, pushing the horn in deeper and throwing Mucus backwards. The big worm landed on it's back, blood welling up in it's throat. Gorgon hissed and spread his wings, lifting off the ground and hovering in the air, out of the worm's barbed reach.
