Chimeragon aimlessly drifts in the waters of his island home. He thinks about how great it would be to kick some ass. Now if only there was another monster nearby...

Rygama's lidless eyes lit up with life. She had dozed off during a swim and allowed the current to carry her wherever they would. She rolled over onto her stomach and poked her head above the water's surface. wherever she was now, it was quite nice. She dove back beneath to admire the flora and fauna of her own element. She began to wonder if this territory belonged to anybody. If it did, she absolutely had to challenge them for it.

Chimeragon detected the giant insectile monster approaching his turf, and he fully intended to defend it from intruders. This place was his and he would not allow anyone else to have it.
With his arms held tight to his sides and his wins folded back, the chimeric beast motored forward, swishing his powerful tail as he proppeled himself towards Rygama. He unleashed a sonic blast from his maw, stunning the insect temporarily as his bladed tail carved a nice wound into the armored flesh of the intruder as he swam past.
Before Rygama could recover, Chimeragon trned about and sped forward again, this time intent on goring Rygama with his might horn...

((I'm gonna nip this one in the tail. Rygama is NOT and insect. I'm sorry, I've had to say that lord knows how many times before.))
Speak of the Devil and the Devil shal appear... Rygama spun around, the sonic blast far less effective than Chimeragon would hope. Her violet eyes fixed on the charging attacker. As the horned monster charged, she spread her wings, fixing a nice hold on the current and waited until at last the monster was within reach. A split second before the bladed horn made contact, she lashed out with her left arm, swatting Chimeragon acrross the temple with all her might. The impact was devastating. Chimeragon's head crumpled against his shoulder momentarily as his body was ripped off its course and sent flying out of the surf before slamming back down onto the water's surface. Rygama snorted smugly. Her strength saves again. As Chimeragon's form sank back into the bubbling blue, she relaxed and pointed straight for him. With a swish of her tail and a beat of her wings, she darted for him, mimicking his own strategy, jaws agape, aimed right for his throat.

((Out of curiosity, what exactly is Rygama? I'm still not clear on that.))
Chimeragon was a little startled by his stunning attack's lack of effectiveness on Rygama, and his neck was quite sore from the counter-attack she had made. Thankfully, it wasn't enough to stop him. His arms came up in front of him and Rygama slammed into them at high speeds, the blade-like spears driving into her thick armor. The long blades kept the strange intruder at bay, her jaws snapping as she howled in agony, blood (or something like it) oozing from the wounds.
chimeragon pumped with his legs and tail and jetted upwards, carrying his quarry with him. He broke the surface of the water, still carrying Rygama, as his wings spread wide and carried them higher, before he slung Rygama away and attempted to nail her with a pair of lightning blasts from his horns as she fell...

((A full analysis is posted at Kaijugalaxy, but essentially, she's a prehistoric fish\mosasaur thing revived by a floating entity native to our upper atmosphere. The exoskeleton and the wings are there because they're beneficial, not because of any actual insect influence.))
Rygama snarled wildly as she was painfully dislodged from the blades. Even as the lightning bolts tore into her sides, one grazing one of her wounds, she lashed up, her claw closing around one of Chimeragon's ankles, dragging him down with her. However, before either came close to hitting the surface, she yanked her adversarry down closer to her and grabbed ahold of his neck, then caught air, hovering in place for a moment. Then, with a rush of adrenaline, she held Chimeragon over her head and slammed him downwards onto her spiked knee with extreme force, attempting to break the menace in half!

((Ah. I see now.))
Unfortunately for Rygama, Chimeragon was made of much tougher stuff than that. True, having a knee thrust into his backside hurt, but Rygama was about to get a whooping all her own. Chimeragon's long and bladed tail came into action, lashing out against Rygama's chest and legs. The strange mutant shrieked in pain as more blood oozed from the lacerations, giving Chimeragon a chance to break her grip on him. He forced himself apart from Rygama as the two of them hovered over the waters.
Chimeragon utilized his echolocation abilities to pinpoint the weakened segments of Rygama's armor, and amde his move. The air around his horn shimmered with psychic energy as Chimeragon pumped his wings and rushed Rygama, intent on driving his psychic blade into her gut...

Rygama snarled loudly as the attacks tore through her, not in pain but in frustration. It was to her, more akin to losing one's lifebar in a videogame, but was none the less highly irritating. With another cry, she defiantly raised her arm as the psionic plane of energy hacked at her, her arm absorbing most of the trauma. Her eyes burned with an ever growing internal flame into her adversarry. If this thing thought it was tough, it was going to be seriously let down in a moment. Blazing green flames collected in her maw, glowing liquid oozing down through her teeth. With a final cry, she expelled the geyser of burning fluid, the fiery cone enveloping Chimeragon, entirely obscuring his body for a brief moment. The corrosives washed over him, seeping into his pores, between the gaps in his armored hide, falling into his orifices, burning and searing all the way through. The pain was indescribeable for the victim as every inch of his body felt at least some of the attack. As the flames cleared, leaving a green mist in its wake, Rygama was gone. Chimeragon may have noticed a vague distortion in the air, heading for one of the islands.

Chimeragon's prey was fleeing from him, but he intended to pursue and elimanate it. The battle thusfar had taught him a thing or two about Rygama, and he aimed to capitalize on it as such. He burst from the water and winged his way towards shore. As he flew over the islands, he saw no sign of the beast, but he could hear her, and feel her presense.
Suddenly, Chimeragon whipped around in midair, lashing out at Rygama as she came in behind him with his tail as well as burying one of his arm spears into her belly. He heard the creature's approach as well as sensed her with his limited telepathy. As such, he was well prepared for this attack.
He knew that giving Rygama breathing room could be hazardous, but so could keeping her in close quarters. As a compromise, he held her at arms length and launched more lightning bolts from his tusks. He would fry this creature from the inside out...

Rygama was surprised at being so easily caught, but as soon as Chimeragon's bladed appendage touched her, she knew all she needed to know about him. Chimeragon might've been shocked by what happened next. Seemingly ignoring the wound in her abdomen, Rygama opened her maw and released a loud, repetetive snarl of a cackle. She was laughing, no doubt about it. Even as the lightning bolts tore through her body, the damage would not overwhelm her. Rygama glared at Chimeragon's face, her mocking gaze burning through his mind, rather than his eyes as she lashed forward, grabbing Chimeragon's throat in one claw and firmly fixing the other around his right arm, then she brought her spiked knee up and bashed the immense barb into his abdomen, once, twice, thrice and a fourth and final time, releasing her grip on him and knocking the creature back several hundred yards flat onto his back. Snarling in delight, she charged at his prone form and with a leap, heaved her immense weight onto his body in a sumo tackle, attempting to pin him in this position where she could REALLY begin her onslaught.

Rygama was obviously made of much tougher stuff than Chimeragon had anticipated. However, in her current position atop him, he still had one strategy that would help ensure that she didn't stay there. He quickly thrust his head forward and forced his tusks into Rygama's eyes. The mutant recoiled before they do anything more serious than being poked in the eye, but Chimeragon had another trick up his sleeve. As she recoiled, he unleashed another barrage of lightning at point blank range, blasting her back and scorching the armor on her face.
Chimeragon took advantage of his foes temporary confusion and pain and threw her aside as he rolled in the opposite direction. Before Rygama could get back to her feet, Chimeragon was upon her, ready to strike in a frenzy of blow with his spear arms...

Rygama, however tough she was, did not expect, nor enjoy having her eye lenses punctured. While the lightning bolts did little more than scorch the outer layer of her skull plate, the intense heat now leaked into the soft eyes beneath the glaring lenses. It was because of this that she was unprepared for the flurry of blows that peppered her. Old wounds stung and new ones formed. However, each blow dealt hurt less than the last one. Rygama was beginning to grow furious. Chimeragon quickly felt a sharp pain in his side as Rygama's barbed tail pierced his skin, the spines along the side securing enough of an anchor for Rygama to yank her tail back, pulling Chimeragon off with it. As Rygama climbed to her feet, she did little to pull the creature off, instead slamming him face forward into the dirt, knocking the blades loose and releasing him. Rygama spun around facing her prone adversarry and with nary a pause, aimed a kick at his face.
