Standard Rules
How to start
1. Post a challenge in the “Looking for Matches and Refs” thread.
2. Once you have an opponent and a ref, post a thread for the battle, giving links to stats for who you and your opponent will be using, where you will be fighting, who the ref is, as well as any additional rules if there are any.
3. Wait for the ref to start you off.
How to fight
Your post should consist of two attacks. The first attack automatically connects, while the second is left up to your opponent to decide if it hits.
Example:
Godzilla runs up to Anguirus and gives a firm uppercut to his jaw. Anguirus is knocked onto his back, and Godzilla tries to stomp on Anguirus’ stomach.
When responding to an attack, you have 3 options:
1. Allow the attack to connect.
Anguirus is stomped on by Godzilla. He slowly recovers, and swings his tail at Godzilla's back. As Godzila falls, Anguirus brings his tail down towards Godzilla's head.
2. Dodge the attack.
Anguirus sees Godzilla's incoming foot, and rolls out of the way. Anguirus runs up to Godzilla and swings his tail at Godzilla's back. As Godzila falls, Anguirus brings his tail down towards Godzilla's head.
Do not dodge every attack. If you do, the referee will punish you.
3. Counter the attack.
Anguirus sees the incoming foot and catches it with is hands. Anguirus pulls on the foot, sending Godzilla to the ground and causing him to hit his head. Anguirus rushes the fallen giant, hoping to headbutt him in the chest.
*Note that countering an attack counts as your first attack as well.
Now, these examples are extremely basic. Your posts should be considerably more detailed.
Combo Attacks:
Performing simple combo attacks is allowed. A combo attack consists of no more than 5, continuous, melee-only, non-special attacks. That basically means standard punches, kicks, tail whips, etc. For example, you could hit your opponent with a punch, then knee them in the gut, followed by an uppercut, followed by a kick, and finish off by throwing them into a building. You could then make your second attack, the result of which is up to your opponent. Keep in mind you may ONLY use non-special melee attacks in combos, meaning if your kaiju has a special melee attack they may not use it as part of a combo. Also, try to keep these fairly uncommon; don’t go doing one in every other post.
Ending a fight
The referee decides when the match is over. This is usually somewhere on the third page, but it can vary slightly depending on how close the match is. The ref usually lets the fighters know that he/she will be ending the match in a certain number of posts (usually 2 or 4).
However, if a fighter fails to post within a certain amount of time, they are counted out. The usual time for a count out is four days. If a fighter knows they will be away for a few days, they need to inform the ref, either via PM or posting in the match, so the ref knows not to count them out.
Rules
1. No impaling. An exception to this is for the more “gooey” kaiju that have very little in the way of body structure.
2. No breaking bones or otherwise damaging body parts to the point of them becoming useless.
3. No removing limbs. An exception to this is for kaiju that have dozens of tentacles, or have tentacles that can simply be reformed.
4. No kamikaze attacks.
5. No one-hit kill attacks.
6. You may not control your opponent’s fighter. Saying they get up from your attack is fine, but don’t go much beyond that.
7. Transformations that involve changing a kaiju’s body, such a Rainbow Mothra transforming into Aqua Mothra, are not allowed. However, if a transformation simply involves rearranging the parts of a kaiju’s body, like what a Transformer does, it is allowed.
8. If a monster has the ability to spawn other monsters, such as Legion with her Soldiers, the attacks made by the spawned monsters count as your attacks.
9. Only the referee and the participating fighters are allowed to post in matches (this does not apply to the Admin/mods).
10. You may only use monsters that you have created. You must use whatever fighter you start with for the duration of the match.
Referees will punish those who do not follow the rules. The severity of the punishment will depend on the amount and severity of the offenses (note that the above rules do not apply to refs giving out punishments). If the offender continues to break the rules, they will be disqualified.
