Resources
Resources are the main focus of the RPG and why Earth is so desired. Resources are gained in three ways: Battle, Mercenary Work , and Capturing Moons. Below is a list of the game’s battlegrounds and how much resources a race will gain after winning a battle. If a race loses a battle, they will get no resources and use what they have to fix their kaiju. Once enough resources are gained, races can use them for other stuff. More on that later.
Story Battlegrounds:
- Space: An open area above planets and moons. Only kaiju with space flight capabilities will be able to be here. (No Resources)
- Mars: A red desert devoid of any settlements, but the resources here are plentiful! (300 Resources)
- Pluto: A frozen world that’s in eternal Winter. A good source of water once the ice is melted. (200 Resources)
- Mercury: A fiery, volcanic world. Not many resources here, but you’d be surprised on how much energy can be generated by the heat. (100 Resources)
- Earth: A lush world filled with various types of lands. Vast oceans and large deserts, this is what everybody wants, but nobody shall get it until only one race stands in victory. (600 Resources)
- Venus: A poisonous world that would kill any normal creature. The gas here, however, makes for great weapons and can be used as resources. (50 Resources)
- Coglioto: A world outside the Milky way, Coglioto was once a giant city. Now all the lights are dead and the buildings hollow, but the structures themselves make great resources. (500 Resources)
Other battlegrounds will be in the game, such as race home worlds. The awarded resources will be given before the start of the fight.
Mercenary Kaiju
If players find themselves running low on resources, they can offer their aid to another. By allowing yourself to wage war alongside another race, the race that hired you must pay an agreed price (No more than 800 resources). Players will be given half of the agreed price before the fight, and if victorious, the rest after the battle plus the final resource gaining will be divided between each race.
Capturing Moons
Capturing moons is a fine way of gaining resources by the bundle. While many planets are just too hostile to harvest, or just drained entirely, there are dozens of moons out there. Capturing moons can be very hard, for once one race finds out your wanting it, many more will follow. However, as long as you control a moon, you can gain up to 100 free resources a week!
Damaged Kaiju
In every battle your kaiju will get hurt. In order to fix your warriors, you need resources! Kaiju will have 3 main stages of damage:
o Minimal (Costs 200 To Fix)
o Moderate (Costs 400 To Fix)
o Heavy (Costs 600 to Fix)
If a monster gets any further damage past Heavy without being healed after a fight, they will be killed and out of the RPG. After a basic battle, it will cost you about 50-100 resources to fix your fighter, depending on the amount of damage taken. This will not always be true if your own in a group battle with more enemies than allies where you could go from no damage to Moderate after a battle, so keep your monsters healthy!
Resource Usage
If the player feels he or she has enough resources, they can use them to do a few more things than a basic player. These include:
o Creating/Finding a New Kaiju (1200 Resources)
o Creating another Starship (2000 Resources)
o Colonizing Another World (1500 Resources)
The importance of starships and home worlds can be found below.
Homeworlds
Every race needs a home world, a leader, and a capitol. The capitol has its own set of defenses while the planet itself should have its own terrain (rocky, mixed, water, etc). Home worlds offer an amount of resources that can keep your species alive if you run dry, but this will only act for a while. If a player gets enough resources saved up, they can create another home world by colonizing another planet, this will help your race stay alive longer if your capitol is destroyed or you run dry on resources.
Starships
Starships are your way of getting from one planet to another, or in this case, one battleground to another. They should be at least the size of a city so they can carry plenty of kaiju and beings. If your home world gets destroyed, then your starship acts as your savior, but beware, these can be attacked to if you attack another race with it. A player can create another starship if they have an extra amount of resources. The more starships you have, the more battles you can be in at once.
Races
A world’s race is what you are. Every race needs its own type of being, however. Human, reptile, bug… You name it, you can be it. Every race needs its leaders, however, and its own starship and home world, and kaiju. Comical races are fine, but don’t be stupid races just for the sake of the story.
Misc:
- Fighting will have the Enhanced Rules of the Arena, but the story doesn’t allow regeneration, at all.
- Mercenary kaiju can turn on their hirers if the player decides on it, however, this could come to bite them on the ass: a battle afterward will be assured, and it will, more than likely, be an unfair fight with the odds against you. Also, if you turn on your hirer, you will only get the first half of the pay.
- Players can create alliances with other players by aiding them in battles when in one together. The players can state, within the game, if they wish to be allies. The spoils of war will then be divided between the two and the two will often be put in battle together until one turns on the other.
- Players will start with 500 Resources. A thread has been set up to keep everyone's resources in check. You need to post your doings with your resources there, and also make the announcement you are joining this RPG there.
- Chapters will be created by myself in the game board while non-battle parts (such as character interaction) can be done in a seperate thread created by players.
