Not any sort of actual project mind you, but just a thought. If Arena kaiju were featured in a brawler/destruction game in the vein of the Pipeworks Godzilla titles, what monsters would you like to see in there? Or storylines, factions, and all that jazz? Me, I see a faction setup similar to GU, with EDF forces (mechs), Alien Invaders (probably several of MM's Klenthurian kaiju), Mutants, and Earth Defenders. EDFRiptide (Omegarex24) Berserk Fuhrer (Inferno Rodan) Heavy Claws (Inferno Rodan) Thor (Pyrokaiju) Artemis (Omegarex24) Cerberus (Omegarex24) Alien InvadersThunder (Monster Master) Rosie (Monster Master) Gigan (Monster Master) Scorpadon (Monster Master) MutantsCarcharius (Omegarex24) Magmire (Omegarex24) Nuvi (yaburu) Dentata (Pyrokaiju) Neo-Spacegodzilla (Inferno Rodan) Glorve (Monster Master) Earth DefendersTanimin (Monster Master) Wu Long (DinoHunter2) Cerulean (Omegarex24) Swamp (Monster Master) Musashi (yaburu) Panzer (Inferno Rodan) BossesSauropede (Inferno Rodan) Jericho (Omegarex24) Argus (Monster Master) Blaradon (Monster Master) Apocalypse Dragon (Omegarex24) Gojulas Giga (Inferno Rodan) Of course, there's room for plenty more monsters per faction. So what would you guys and gals like to see if Arena kaiju were featured in a video game?

10 Kaiju per the 5 Factions
GDF - Riptide (OR) - Darktide (OR) - Berserk Fuhrer (IR) - Gojulas Giga (IR) - The Hessian (MM) - Heavy Claws (IR) - Devastator MK.II (DH) - Thor (Pyro) - Suchodon (IR) - Swamp (MM)
Guardians - Taninim (MM) - King Claw (MM) - Wu Long (DH) - GODzilla (Yaburu) - Panzer (IR) - Gustras (DH) - Musashi (Yaburu) - Cerulean (OR) - Solranous (Azure) - Gaius (PCZ)
Aliens - Thunder (MM) - Rosie (MM) - Thresher (MM) - Blaradon (MM) - Brumak (Pyro) - Veron (DH) - Keizer Claws (OR) - Slith (DH) - Biohazard (DH) - Gigan (MM)
Mutants - Scorpadon (MM) - The Entity (DH) - Dentata (Pyro) - Neo-SpaceGodzilla (IR) - Magmire (OR) - Skullizar (MM) - Myrmek (IR) - Space Claws (TG) - Jantwan (MM) - Sage (MM)
Hell's Forces - The Great Milenko (MM) - Demortis (MM) - Tirran (MM) - Syzir (Kaosu) - Slappy (DH) - Big Rick (IR) - Aiya (Yaburu) - Davy Stoned (Hyper) - Thaussian (TG) - Lord Malice (Yaburu)
I tried to make things even between myself and others, and put kaiju in that could actually be made into a good fighting game. There's plenty of kaiju I'd love to have seen make the cut in my roster (Glorve, Carcharious, many of DHs), but I didn't want just one member hogging entire sections. Kind of became a problem in the aliens section. Speaking of, I know Biohazard isn't an alien himself, but it seems like the only place such a being would fit in. The same goes with many of Hell's Forces, which some are aliens, but it seems they'd get along much better with the likes of Milenko than the alien crew.

EDIT: Yeah, screw this. Sorry, but... Arena monsters just aren't diverse enough for factions. I've spent like three hours trying to get a logical, balanced roster, and it just doesn't work. There are too few natural kaiju and guardians, and too many mutations. And a lot of the more memorable monsters would belong in categories that'd just be completely random. I mean, if bought this game and checked the manual for the factions and monsters, and saw that the giant walrus was under the alien faction, I'd prolly be sayin "WTF? How is that an alien?". BTW, The Entity is an alien, not a mutant, and Wu Long would be completely worthless on land.

DH kind of has a point. The roster of the arena is so damned varied in terms of origins and such that lumping them into "standard" factions would leave out a lot of kaiju simply because they wouldn't fit. Some of my guys are good examples. Some, like Bigor, Musashi, and Nuvi, would fit well with standard factions (Mutant, Earth Defender, and Invader, respectively). But others, Like Aiya, and Myston, don't really fit well. Aiya could be a mercenary character, but Myston just seeks challenges, where does that put him?
And those are just examples from my relatively small roster.
A good idea might be to just have a huge roster and have it as a free-for-all in the vein of older games like Street Fighter 2 and MK.
It could use a similar engine as the Godzilla series, just more brutal to keep in tune with Arena fights.

First: Wow... MM mentioned one of my monsters... I'm shocked and honored.
Second: I can see ways to adapt the faction system to the arena to compensate for the major diversity. Here's how I would make it happen. All the factions have the same number of open slots as there are monsters that make the cut. As an example... say... thirty monsters.
EDF:
Earth Defenders:
Alien Invaders (And those who side with them):
Mutants:
Neutral:
Kaiju whose origins make it impossible to sort them into a specific category would start in neutral, such as Aiya. The likes of Riptide and Darktide, however, can be sorted perfectly into the category EDF. My Solranous can be sorted into either Earth Defenders or EDF, do to his origins, but we'll keep EDF reserved for mechs initially in this example.
EDF:
Riptide Darktide
Earth Defenders:
Solranous
Alien Invaders:
Mutants:
Neutral:
Aiya
Anyways, after all the Kaiju and mechs have been sorted into their initial categories, their actions can change said category. I.E. Solranous, for whatever reason, betraying Earth and siding with the Aliens. In a sense, its like G:U, but much more refined, with the changes in allegiance resulting in physical changes, I.E. Solranous getting a dark, more fear-enducing image. Also, the health bars that would be in the game would change depending on said allegiance, though only when the change is complete.
For the example Solranous, it would be the green Earth Defenders bar to the purple Aliens bar.
While I would love to choose a roster of monsters that I would like to see in it... I simply do not have the paitience to sort through all of the monsters to pick out a particular number.

I have issues with the "RAWR! ME SMASH EVERYTHING JUST BECAUSE I CAN!" faction being called Mutants. A lot of monsters here are mutants, but aren't neccesarily out to wreck stuff. Take MM's Ankylotherium and my Panzer for example. They're mutants, but they behave pretty much just like oversized animals and have no desire to trash a city. I think "Rogue" would be a more fitting name for the faction of monsters that gets a kick out of wrecking cities.

I think it'd be best to just ditch factions entirely, as Yaburu suggested. Besides, that concept reeks of G:U, anyway.

*shrugs*
In the end, it doesn't really matter to me. Ditch the factions, keep 'em, either way, it could still be a good game if it were ever made, which is highly unlikely, but oh well.

Well, I feel the only way to make a roster then... Would be to take every kaiju's name here, throw it in a hat, and then draw like 65 out.

Lawl. That's what would be fair, yes... but I think the best thing to do would be to pick out the more original, memorable kaiju, and try not to get any repeats- like, if you pick somebody who does a shitload of fire attacks, you prolly won't want three or four more characters who use similar attacks. Keep things nice and diverse.

To me, it would be more fair if everyone got a decent amount of monsters tossed in, not just a few and a lot for some. Course, the numbers would have to be kept down lower for that to work.

Really, to be honest... if you made a game using monsters created by the fandom, I wouldn't limit it to The Arena. There are a lot of brilliant fan-made kaiju out there that belong to people who aren't members of this site, and I wouldn't leave them out of something like this if it were to happen in real life.

Yeah, I know there are, but since I'm too lazy to go hunting for other people's...
Although seeing some of Scatha's, Godzilla-Kaiju's and even sone of GREGOLE's creations would be nice. Lol, we'd have to keep releasing expansions with new monsters and battlefields.
