F*ckin' A. The reason Riptide beat Glorve in KOTA1 goes for Darktide in this: vaporization. Glorve might stand a chance if he could get close and invade the insides of Darkky, but I don't see that happening.

Yeah, this is why Riptide won the last one. Darktide may not have quite as mean heat-based projectiles at his disposal,. but the impact Cannons could easily splatter Glorve and make mopping him up much simpler. The Harmonics Disruptor could do some damage, although I'm not sure how much, given Glorve's already jelly-like composition.
Still, all Darktide really has to do is sit back and liquify the blob until this over. Glorve will get some hits in, but hardly enough to disable my mech.

Wouldn't blowing Glorve into pieces do more harm then good? I mean, sure each piece will be easier to destroy, but can Darktide destroy them all before they close in on him and reform right on top of him?

It's the same prinicple as to why sugar melts faster when it's in grains as opposed to large cubes. More surface area = faster vaporization. By blowing Glorve apart, Darktide can make a lot more surface area readily available to vaporize with his Hyper NOVA. Also, Darktide's cloaking comes in handy, since Glorve homes in on light sources, and being invisible helps against that. Flight also has a tendency to keep my mech out of reach.

Imma vote for Darktide MK II. There's not a whole lot Glorve can do to Darktide. Darktide can easily devastate Glorve with his heat based weaponry. But there is one thing that kinda puzzles me though. If Darktide blows Glorve to bits and some of Glorve gets on Darktide, what would stop Glorve from sinking into Darktide's body and destroy him from the inside? Cuz I don't remember seeing Darktide ever using his force field in the demo battle so I don't know if he will use it in this match.
