Could be interesting. For those that actually put a bit of thought into kaiju, you may base their 'persona' on specific people or characters from shows or in real life... So.. Who.. how.. and why?
Saberon Tchove - Darth Vader, Freddy Krueger, Evil Ash, some Hitler, and Stone Cold - Saberon was envisioned to be THE perfect villain. A villain should be just as likable, but a polar opposite, to the rest of the cast he is facing. I know I wanted something inhumane, but something we have seen before, so he was made reptile. Attitude wise, I used the ever-great Darth Vader as a basis. Having him rule his kind with an iron fist, but that wasn't enough. He had to have the tenacity to spit in Satan's face and then laugh. He needed one-liners. He needed to be a true badass that could eventually make the leap from villain to anti-hero, and retain everything that made him great as a villain.
Rosie - The Big Show - From WWE. He wasn't suppose to be, at first, but when Show returned, I immediately saw he was the human equal to Rosie. Big and powerful, and one that doesn't like to be f*cked with. Can talk the talk and do the walk, both at the same time.
Taninim - Super Man - This one really shouldn't need explained. I'm no Super fan, and Taninim was originally made to be just a 'peaceful' kaiju, but the boom that came about after he spoiled a terrorist act made me mold him after the man of steel.

Not to many of my guys are based off of existing characters, but here are the ones that are:
Bigor: His behavior was directly inspired by Godzilla. Though in recent years he's been tweaked to include more distinguished characteristics (The fact that he won't fight unless heat or cold is around, etc.)
Aiya: Lobo. Aiya practically IS Lobo, just kaiju-sized.
No one else is really directly based off another character that I can think of, or even heavily influenced.
