As a suggestion to the main admins here...could we put in a fantasy match section, akin to TohoKingdom’s and the one we had near the end of Kaiju Wars: New Dawn? For one, half our kaiju creations are already in a format where they’re ready to go into a fight, and it might be interesting for some matches, at least pitting our own kaiju against each other...
I know there are some possible drawbacks, including some people being offended if their kaiju are thrust into a match and most people deign them the loser, but...thoughts? Anybody?

I thought about it. The only problem I see is that these kaiju have never appeared in a movie or anything, so how they would fight when not controlled by their "master" isn't known, so making a decision on the the victor would be difficult. Then again, that doesn't stop people from making judgements on matches at TK...
I'll gladly make the section if other people would like to see it.

I think it would be a good idea to have a Fantasy Matches section on The Arena. As long as people don’t slam the matches. And it be would be better to put the stats of the characters and/or the monsters in the matches. If someone wants someone’s fan made monster in their match, it’s better to ask them for their permission.
Anyway that’s what I think.

You know, I really wouldn't mind seeing something like this, but IR raises the major issue: We have NO way of being able to analyze the combatants' statistics.
Now, fighting style paragraphs are a good way to go, as are stat ratings, but I think the most fun and productive thing to go with would be the sample battle formula that we're doing at Kaijugalaxy for this year's FanFiction Kaiju Tournament. In order for a monster to be elligable for a match in the FBs here, we would need a sample battle scene.
Now, whether this would be required for all players to submit for their monsters, or if we could simply go by the battle threads they've already participated in, it doesn't matter to me.
Any way you go about it, I'd greatly enjoy seeing this done.

^ Yes, I'd thought about that as well. But I figured having to put the extra effort into it would turn people off to participating. But hey, if people are willing to do it, that's great. I'll set up the forum later tonight. I'm busy watching Zoids: Genesis right now. |

Just wondering. Eh, I'd prefer you stick to whomping the "real" kaiju from the movies for the sample battles, since that gives people a basis to judge the strength of your kaiju on. And you know how I said I'd make the forum tonight? Yeah, scratch that. It's after 1:00, and I've gotta get up at 8:00 to go to class. |

Alright, the Fantasy Match boards are up. The rule regarding demonstration battles won't be enforced for a couple weeks, to allow people time to actually write up the battles for their kaiju while still letting them make matches if they wish.
