Rygama climbed to her feet, now visibly annoyed. She wasn't about to let this thing get the better of her. Pointing at the elemental, she leaped right at it, catching ionized air with her wings. Valcanus was once again unable to react as Rygama barreled into him, closing her bulky arms around his waist and lifting him off the ground. Rygama continued to advance, rapidly heading out to the bay. Rygama ignored Valcanus' struggles. Heat meant nothing to her, and the beast had little leverage with which to throw her off. As such, nothing stood in her way as she dove into the water several hundred meters from shore, forcing the volcano monster below the surface.
Rygama finally loosened her grip, letting Valcanus sink to the bottom. Before she allowed anymore of him, however, she quickly spun around, coiling her serpentine tail around the beast's neck and squeezing, attempting to crush his sturdy armor.

Valcanus shut his mouth, ash seeping from the cracks in his body. It would seem she was clever enough to exploit his major weakness. So, she was strong and smart. She might be attractive if she weren't a filthy, combustable heap of carbon, hydroden and oxygen. The ground beneath the two monsters ruptured and split, orange light shining from the fiery depths. Forcing the magma upwards, Valcanus spawned a makeshift underwater volcano, sending an explosive surge of lava up through the water, engulfing both combatants. When the lava dispersed and cooled, Valcanus was gone. Rygama, though unharmed by the short-lived flames, had lost track of her foe. Heat hiding within heat, Valcanus slipped away through the magma, seemingly invisible to even Rygama's keen vision.

With an irritated roar, Rygama shot back upwards towards the surface. She couldn't track the beast underground, that much she knew. However, there was every chance that it would soon go on the offense, and Rygama wasn't about to put herself in the middle of it. Exhaling a cloud of bubbles through her gills, Rygama waited for the elemental's next move.

Valcanus lurked beneath the sea bed, pulling his jagged form through the lava. Now came the waiting game. Valcanus could not accurately determine her location within the bubbles, and she could not see him within the lava. It was a standoff... or so it seemed. A powerful geyser of lava burst from the sea floor, striking the cloud of bubbles and firing it's occupent out of the water and into the air with a huge splash. Valcanus remained hidden, but Rygama's cover had been blown. Surging through the ground, Valcanus burrowed beneath the bay, heading towards the land.

Hissling loudly, more in invigoration than anything, Rygama turned her head in the path of Valcanus. Through some bizarre means, she had managed to pinpoint the monster. It was very clear what it had on its mind, and Rygama refused to let it have its way. As quickly as she could, she paddled against the water, darting for the mobile target. To his credit, Valcanus was an extremely skilled burrower. Unfortunately, one could only burrow as quickly as they would walk, if not less. And it just so happened that Rygama was in her element. She closed the distance in seconds, pinpointing Valcanus's underground form. Her claws quickly extended and she thrust her arm into the ground, digging it in as deeply as she could. Her claws did indeed strike Valcanus' spine, drawing a scream of surprise. Her claws tightened their grip, pulling upwards. She felt the bulky mass slip, and consequently thrust her other arm into the sand, seizing a firmer grip on the underground elemental. Rygama bellowed a loud cry as she heaved her mass upright, pulling on Valcanus. For a moment, it seemed as though he would slip.... and then the ground burst, Valcanus' neck and spine caught between Rygama's claws. The mosasaurid heaved the rocky mass over her head and darted for the surface. Ignoring his struggles, Rygama thrust Valcanus and her upper torso above the surface. She drew back and hurled her quarry off, further away from shore. Valcanus went sailing, his body crashing into the surf several hundred meters away. If he wanted out, he would have to work for it. Rygama ducked back beneath the surface and sped after the waterlogged beast.

Valcanus sank for a moment, the glowering cracks in his hide now somewhat dimmed. Rygama was no hulking moron, he'd give her that. Valcanus had never met a foe so hell-bent on exploiting his weakness. However, Valcanus was no moron either. He could burrow, and as far as he could tell, Rygama could not. Her arm could only extend so far. Turning his head to face the sea bed, Valcanus swam towards the bottom as fast as he could manage. The vents on his back shot jets of hot sulphur, further propelling him at the price of some of his body heat. It was a bit of a gamble, but it was worth it. Valcanus reached the sea floor and tore into it, ripping through the waterlogged soil with his searing claws and muscular forearms. In a cloud of dust and smoke, Valcanus disappeared. The ground rumbled as he dug deeper, setting himself out of Rygama's reach. This far beneath the surface, the ground was no longer raised by his movements. Valcanus burrowed towards the shore, giving his foe no hints. A few moments later, the shore erupted. Valcanus burst up from the ground with a revitalizing shower of magma and bellowed to the sea, smoke pouring from his back. More of a taunt than a serious attack, he launched a pack of fireballs into the sky, which trailed over the bay for a moment before striking the waves above Rygama's head and exploding.

Rygama was silent as the flaming spheres erupted into massive fireballs above her head. For a moment, her form was completely obscured by the blasts. And then, the smoke cleared, leaving no trace of the deformed squamatoid. Rygama had dove beneath the surface and quickly headed for the bottom. She was about to give the elemental a VERY nasty surprise. Valcanus was hardly surprised to find Rygama had submerged. The elemental waited for a moment, unsure of when he would next be given a clue as to her location. Nothing happened. Valcanus waited on... nothing. Rygama was completely gone from his detection. While he was sure she hadn't fled, he could hardly gather what she was up to. Suddenly, the ground beneath Valcanus began to shake violently. He stumbled forward as the ground where he had been standing on suddenly cracked. In an instant, a monstrous geyser of earth was launched violently into the air, spraying dust and concrete all round. Rygama's massive form rose from the ground, a decidedly smug glow illuminating her purple eyes. The volcanic gestalt had made an error. Rygama could burrow. So shocked was Valcanus, he had little time to react as Rygama's body swung around, delivering an uppercut of unfathomable proporton to Valcanus' jaw. The fiery recipient of the blow was hardly the heaviest thing Rygama had sent flying before. As such, it was of little surprise when he was lifted off the ground and sent flying right back into the bay. A splash eclipsed his form, before the monstrous gestalt regained his footing and stood furiously in waist-deep water. Rygama unleashed a loud, repeating cackle. She was very clearly laughing at her victim. She ducked low and let her wings take care of the next step, shooting off like a bullet. Her arms stretched forward and her head lowered in a massive attempt to tackle Valcanus back into the deep. Suffice to say, this was getting fun for her.

Cursing Rygama with an irritated roar, Valcanus dropped to a crouching position, allowing Rygama to pass over him. He spun around and opened his mouth, visible heat emanating from his cavernous maw. Flames lapped at his stalagtite fangs, his jaws looking like the gates to hell. Like an erupting volcano, Valcanus spewed searing heat into the sky. The beam struck Rygama in the left wing, detonating in a fireball. The concussive blast forced her wing supports out of their stiffened state, collapsing the wing. It was temporary, but nonetheless, Rygama's massive bulk was now being carried by only one working wing. She was a 200,000 ton brick. Valcanus threw back his head and bellowed, greatly amused, as smoke trailed from Rygama's wing as she dropped from the sky and hit the ocean hard. Then, knowing better than to make the same mistake twice, Valcanus slank back into the hole he had made, crawling down into the darkness and burrowing deep into the ground.

Rygama hissed in annoyance. In her moment of clumsiness, Valcanus has escaped. However, her senses were far keener than the elemental gave her credit for. She had a clear view of Valcanus' means of escape. She sped down to the bayfloor and began tearing into the sand. In a moment, she too was underground, speeding right after the fiery golem.

Burrowed beneath the surface, Valcanus paused, sensing something. His body surrounded by earth, he could feel the vibrations of another burrower- Rygama, no doubt, coming from beneath the bay to intercept him. He puffed smoke form his nostrils, which clouded around him in the cramped quarters of his underground chamber. Lashing out at the soil with his fiery claws, Valcanus ripped through the ground, digging towards the intruding monster. He burrowed towards her at top speed, superheating his body and allowing his sweltering aura of heat to burn and soften the earth around him. A ravenous fireball with claws, Valcanus sped through the soil, heading straight for Rygama.

Simultaniously, Rygama was alerted to Valcanus' shift in direction. As a close kin to snakes, and a burrower no less, it had been child's play for her to figure out where the volcanic monster was headed. And it appeared that he had gotten bold. Rygama hissed, more in amusement than anything. Within the watery tunnel she now rested in, her own flesh began to glow, rapidly converting the water around her to steam, then into plasma, and finally back into a glowing, white-hot liquid. The walls of her cavern collapsed into molten sand, kicking up more steam and forming shards of glass here and there. She knew where her target was, and she was ready.
Like a landmine, Valcanus' form burst from the rock, almost on cue. His fiery mass was greeted by Rygama's own pulsing bulk. Claw met claw, fire met fire, and for a moment, as Rygama latched onto Valcanus' neck with her teeth, the two became a single ball of fire. The walls quickly melted, bathing the two in a sea of magma as Rygama bit into Valcanus' throat, wrenching the stony flesh. She yanked her head back, tearing a chunk free, before swinging a heavy claw into his chest.

Valcanus roared, a shower of flame bursting from his mouth and throat as Rygama's claws stuck into his thick, rocky chest. He swung back with his own clawed hand, grabbing Rygama's throat with his burning fist. With a truly monstrous thrust, Valcanus shoved his arm upwards, slamming Rygama's head into, and through, the ceiling of the already collapsing tunnel. Her head burst up to the surface world, great hunks of earth flying up into the air. As Rygama endeavored to pull herself back into a fighting position, Valcanus lunged at her exposed belly, lava trailing from his eager fangs as they sped towards her (momentarily) helpless torso.

Rygama swung her head back down, ripping through the ceiling in time to see Valcanus' jaws close into her belly, creating a cloud of violet fluid. She hissed, bringing her claw up. Without extending them, Rygama swung her arm down, smashing the mace-like forearm into Valcanus' skull, forcing the elemental to release her. Rygama dropped down into a more comfortable position, braced herself, and swung her other arm around, attempting to - for lack of a better term - 'punch' the beast in the jaw. If cutting attacks wouldn't deter him, then maybe a cracked skull would.

Valcanus bellowed and swung his head into the blow, horn and "fist" colliding in an explosion of force. The earth shook, and the opposing masses repelled one another in a burst of flame. The monsters recoiled, but only for a moment- Valcanus had no intentions of letting his guard down, and the same clearly applied to Rygama. As Valcanus' head reeled back, fiery energies seethed in his jaws. Valcanus charged his heat beam, aimed towards the bite wound on Rygama's stomach, and released...

The screaming stream of pyre struck Rygama's wounded abdomen dead-on, addinf more fuel to the fire. Yet the scream that shot from Rygama's maw was not one of pain, rather one of amusement. The beast was laughing. Wounded or not, the heat was Rygama's friend.
Rygama swung her other arm around, extending her claws dramatically, as they buried into Valcanus' chest, ripping through the rocky shell and immersing themselves in his molten core. Rygama swung her arm to the right, ripping her claws further through the armor and out the side of Valcanus' chest.
The malformed mosasaurid lunged her head forward, her rigid forehead pounding towards Valcanus' face.
