After our own DinoHunter did his awsome pic one DevArt, it occured to me that this would be fun to write.
One alternate world, dozens of monsters, one victor.
Anyone can enter up to three of their monsters, which will be randomly placed against other monsters, sometimes in one-on-one fights, sometimes as tag-team matches, and other time against seemingly impossible odds. The matches will be written out like a story, but the ending will be left unfinished. This is where you come in. In addition to submitting monsters, you can chose the fate of combatants in each match, as to whether or not they advance or fail.
Sign ups will be open until I decide I've got enough, or it seems like no one else will enter.
Also, a few rules to keep in mind...
All kaiju will have access to all of their respective abilities, with heavy restrictions placed on finisher and ultra powerful attacks. Sizes will also be scaled to more reasonable set-ups, so Megarelia doesn't automatically win by being able to swallow the competiton whole.
Also, you need to include a brief description of your monsters' fighting styles. Include how they typically approach various situations and the like.
Finaly, no joke kaiju. That means no Frosty, Superion, Slappy, Big Rick, etc.
Just make a post with your monsters and fighting styles so we can get this underway.
1. Rygama 2. Die Spinne 3. Benzin 4. Darktide Mk. II 5. Carcharius 6. Magmire 7. Scorpadon 8. Thunder 9. Tanimin 10. Tyrant Godzilla 11. Perfect Chaos 12. Berserk Fuhrer 13. Gojulas Giga 14. Scorpius 15. Gorgon 16. Scython 17. Valcanus 18. Thor 19. Cronos 20. Dentata 21. Bigor 22. Nova Ghidorah 23. Lord Malice 24. Avion 25. Dirge 26. Argus 27. The Hybrid 28. Typhoon 29. Kresh 30. Before I enter, does Milenko count as joke?

Unfortunately, yes. His powers are just outright absurb for the most part, although I would have probably had fun writing with him.

Hmm... could be fun.
1. Rygama - I'm pretty sure we're all familiar with her brutal, straightforward, relentless fighting style.
2. Die Spinne - More absurd than some of my monsters, but he's canon, so he's not actually a joke monster. Prettymuch exactly how you wouldn't expect a giant spider to fight. Mainly relies on inflicting trauma with his legs and mauling with his teeth, his venom is more to soften up victims than as an actual disabler. He'll frequently execute flips, leaps and webslings to get around and stay out of harm's way, but will just as quickly enter melee and resume beating on an enemy. His energy blasts are mainly a tactical weapon, used in the midst of acrobatics.
3. Benzin - The Venom to Ry's Spiderman, more or less. Pretty straightforward, brutal and unrelenting, with particular focus on his railgun, drill and chainsaw mechanisms.

Hmm, ok then.
Scorpadon - A beast at melee and range, as you all should know, Scorpadon will change his tactics any time he sees fit. If a monster is to good at T&C, he'll switch to spamming his Ion Beams and Ion Swarm. If the monster shows they're not all that great at hand to hand combat, and can match him in beams, he'll go with melee and begin tearing his foes apart. If they're equal on all grounds, its simply a beaming and stinging fest.
Thunder - He takes a lickin' and keeps on ticken'. He definitely prefers close range combat over beam wars, but if it is necessary, he will whip out those thunder beams and balls. He's also very intelligent, so if he's fighting a mech or heavily armored foe, he will bring out the mantis spurs to begin carving the turkey.
Taninim - The hero! He is the world's Stone Cold Steve Austin and always stands up for the little guys (IE: humanity). Unlike his brothers, Opteryx and Scorpadon, Taninim shows heavy intelligence, enough to switch from projectile wars to hand to hand combat even faster than his brethren, and also use traps and tricks to confuse enemies. Fighting in a city, or in a ruined city, only aids this creature for it adds to his hatred for the foe that attacked the smaller creatures for absolutely no reason.

Tyrant Godzilla: He's my main powerhouse, but he's not all serious buisness. Tends to toy with an opponent's sense of direction by twirling and throwing them in any and all directions randomly, sometimes spraying his acid mist. After about five or so minutes, he'll get serious and close the distance by rolling or levitating and always enhances his own melee power with telekinetis. If pushed away so the enemy can go into long range, he'll simply extend his punching and kicking reach with telekinesis and continue to bombard him/her. If two or more opponents are against the one of him, he wastes no time and single-mindedly destroys the weaker of the two/weakest of them all and work up until only he and the strongest foe is left. Tends to scan the foe's/s' mind/s before the battle to estimate danger level.
Perfect Chaos: A mindless charge and pummelment of the enemy is all he does. If the foe is out of reach for a good distance, he'll spam long range attacks while closing the distance. His motto is 'If it gets smashed and is still moving, it needs to be smashed harder.' If water is present in the area, Perfect Chaos goes for a power boost before anything else.
...Don't feel like adding a third one.

-rubs chin-
Berserk Fuhrer - His fighting style will vary depending on the opponent. In the first couple minutes of a battle, he will tend to be more defensive as he works out his opponent. This isn't to say he won't attack during this period, but his attacks are as much to gauge his opponent's reaction as they are to inflict damage. Once he feels he has sufficient data, he will go on the offensive, attacking in a way that best exploits his opponent's weaknesses. The same trick will never work on him twice In melee, he dodges and parries then strikes while his opponent is off balance. In ranged combat, he keeps moving while wearing the enemy down with his Beam cannons and LPCs. The SCPC is most often a weapon of last resort against opponents that refuse to go down via other means.
Gojulas Giga - Similar to the Berserk Fuhrer. However, he focuses less on avoiding his opponent's attacks, allowing his ungodly tough armor to protect him. He usually uses his Giga Cannons to soften his opponent up and allow him to get in close to finish them off with his jaws and tail blades. However, in the unlikely even that his opponent proves to be more than a match for him in melee, he will not hesitate to sit back and pummel them with his ranged weapons.
It should be noted that BF and Giga work very well together, being that they are "brothers".
Scorpius - Scorpius is a vicious, relentless fighter. He rarely, if ever, backs down once he's entered combat. While not tremendously intelligent, he's no imbecile either, being capable of simple problem-solving and possessing a bit of a learning curve. He favors melee combat, where he can bring his powerful claws and deadly stinger to bear. He generally uses his acid while approaching an opponent, or to hit an opponent who is otherwise out of reach. Food is his primary motivation for fighting, and as such he will often not make the first attack against non-biological opponents, though he will no hesitate to attack once he feels threatened.
Yeah, no NSG. Shocker, eh?

Glad you liked it, and even gladder (<--?) that it inspired you like this!
I think I'll stick with my classic trio:
1. Gorgon. Gorgon's a very acrobatic fighter, and will stay airborn throughout an entire fight if he can. His favored method of attack is blunt trauma from his club, which he often swings or drags behind him wrecking-ball-style while swooping. He's known to toy around with poisoned victims before constricting them.
2. Scython. Big, badass, and beastly. Scython excels at both long and close range, but favors hand-to-hand. He uses his arms a lot, and loves to punch, slash, and backhand his enemies black and blue. He'll also sap mana from them as much as possible, usually building up a big energy storage and using it later to finish off his foe.
3. Valcanus. Valcanus relies largely on intimidation. He always puts on a big display, glowing, flaming, smoking, roaring, etc. He's a ruthless fighter, and a surprisingly intelligent one to boot- he'll exploit the weaknesses of his foes whenever possible. Though he's totally capable of lasting in an open fight, he would much rather scare his enemy into a panic and break them down through repeated ambush.

Thor-Drivan by a powerful A.I., Thor gets right in your face...with his hammer that is. Thor is very prone to staying on the move and attacking relentlessly with all of his weapons and abilities.
Cronos-Since most of his attacks are based on beams, psychic attacks, and earthbased maneuvers, Cronos is a deadly ranged fighter. But since he is a giant T. Rex, he is not pussy when it comes to hand-to. His specialty is use the Earth against his enemies.
Dentata-Basically a giant, rubbery stomach with a huge ass mouth, Dentata just wants to eat you! With a body that is rubber like and can take a huge beating, Denatata will just do her (yes, her!) best to devour you. Also can spit acid.

This sounds like a really cool idea, I’ll join up.
Bigor: You know I gotta put my flagship kaiju in this thing. The fight I posted in the FM forum gives a good idea as to his fighting style. He clearly prefers melee, though he’s also comfortable engaging in beam wars if the situation calls for it. One piece of info that’s called to attention during his FM posting that’s rather important. As shown throughout his example fight, Bigor tends not to initiate fights. He’s interested in finding sources of heat and cold to feed on, and will ignore other monsters if there’s no source nearby (as shown with his encounter with the Mothra clan). However, when a source is found, he tends to get territorial, and will attempt to intimidate other kaiju away, forcing them out when that doesn’t work (as shown with the Rodans).
Aiya: He loves using his weapons and other toys, but in his eyes, nothing beats a good slugfest. And he’s really good at duking it out to. Then of course, there’s the talking. The fact that the other kaiju probably can’t understand what he’s saying is irrelevant, he’ll talk more smack then The Rock during his heyday. And he’ll lace it with more profanities to…lot’s more.
Nova Ghidorah: One of his favorite tactics is to strafe an enemy on the ground, diving down firing his nova beams at the enemy. He also enjoys ending these attacks by crashing into the enemy and them using his three heads to bite them and inject toxins. One thing to note: He’s a noble creature, and protecting innocent civilians is important to him. He’ll often put himself in harm’s way to protect the life of another.
If Aiya is considered to “Comedic” then substitute him with…
Lord Malice: He’s as cruel and ruthless as they come. Normally, he enjoys using his immense size to bully other kaiju, but because this is scaled, he’ll just have to settle for inflicting pain. He doesn’t really have a particular preference to ranged or melee attacks, just whatever inflicts the most pain.

Well, alright, I'll see what I can come up with...(Note: I'm pretty sure that the Colossi are all genderless, but I just tend to think of some of them as male or female - spiritually, if not physically - so make of that what you want.)
-
Avion: More or less, the Rodan of the Colossi. Intelligent and crafty, she knows how to use her gift of flight to every possible advantage, and doesn't hesitate to do so in battle. Maintaining healthy distance at first, using her keen sight to search for any weaknesses or blind spots, she then attacks swiftly and without remorse. Her claws and beak are deadly weapons used to deadly effect, and even her armored wings can bludgeon foes in a pinch...and when all else fails, like her fellow Colossi, she isn't above using the Light of Heaven to blind her enemies or summon storm clouds for aerial cover.
...However, when fighting in cities or other populated areas, she(and the other Colossi) will generally exercise some caution in her tactics. Per the doctrine of the ancient god Dormin to whom the Colossi are bound, they will minimize collateral damage and casualties in human dwellings as much as possible, unless necessity or sheer anger overtakes their restraint. Of course, this can prove to be a disadvantage when facing a foe that has no concern whatsoever for human life...and it isn't helped by the fact that the Colossi are typically sent to face such creatures when they are rampaging.
-
Dirge: Some might say that if you spend all day digging in dirt, you don't have to be smarter than it.
'Some' have obviously never met Dirge; and though he can't quite match wits with Avion, he is still no Colossi's fool. While she is the queen of the skies, he is master of the earth and everything beneath it: he can tunnel his way through the ground almost as fast as Avion can fly above it, and is an expert at navigating his way around hazards such as concealed rock formations or building sublevels(basements). He can easily sense vibrations from the surface, and detect from their size and frequency just what kind of unsuspecting creature roams above.
As for actual battle tactics, Dirge initially prefers to soften his foe up with quick hit-and-run attacks; lunging up and striking out of the ground, then diving back in just as quickly before the enemy can retaliate. Once he feels that they are weakened enough, or if there is a momentary lull in the action, he'll surface long enough to take a good observation of his foe, like Avion, to assess the best way(s) of attacking and finishing it off. Depending on the situation, he may even take to surface combat; and while he is in his element below the ground, he can fight above it as well. Much like Larval Mothra from Save the Earth, he can slither, curl up and leap, or even roll along the ground; and he can bite, headbutt, and even tail-slap just as well.
His only glaring weakness is that his senses are honed towards traveling below ground: he can probe and feel his way around beneath the dirt just fine, but in the air above ground his senses become nigh-worthless, and he must rely on his large and sensitive eyes to see where he is going. "Large" as in "viable targets", and "sensitive" as in "sensitive to being attacked and momentarily blinded". Worse, he's given to mildly panicking and immediately diving away from whatever has blinded him - even if there's an obstruction in the way that he doesn't immediately remember.
-
Argus: Nothing particularly noteworthy about this one...he doesn't have the sky-savvy of Avion, nor is he smarter than dirt to the same degree as Dirge. He's just another carbon-copy of Valus and Barba who carries some meat-cleaver kind of weapon...
...And knows how to use it. He'll throw his blade at a flying foe with great strength and remarkable accuracy...he'll stab it down into the ground to nail a digging enemy right beneath him...and he'll strike, parry, and pummel you with it in ways even Gaius can't hope to emulate. It's a simple weapon that doesn't even have an actual cutting edge, but Argus has been carrying it with him ever since he was made; it's virtually as much a part of him as the armor he wears.
Being not the swiftest or strongest of the Colossi, and lacking any significant ranged ability beyond throwing his weapon or using the Light of Heaven, Argus tends to favor a defensive style of combat; letting his enemies approach him so he may put his considerable skill in melee combat to use. He is deft at blocking projectiles with his weapon, and won't hesitate to close ground himself to get up close and personal if necessary; but a sufficiently mobile long-range fighter can keep their distance and wear him down with firepower.

Would have added an oldie but goodie, but he won't be up till tomorrow, sadly. The Hybrid- The Hybrid is as an intelligent fighter as he is ruthless. He knows when and how to use his abilities and is extremely aggressive. He will undoubtly use his Lance of Longinus for quite the amount of the fights he is in and wields it with incredible skill. He is extremely powerful in melee and ranged combat as well, and will do which ever benefits him (and in some cases partner) more. Typhoon- Typhoon uses his elemental powers to great advantage. He will change his combat style to suit whatever his foe is doing as well as excute combos such as Ice Lance and Freeze. Kresh- Kresh is a fricken tank. He will take unbelievable amounts of damage and still keep going. He is absolute hell for aquatic monsters when in water. He is fond of melee combat, but will often times blast a foe with his Electrical Bolt. His most devastating attack is charging himself and then preforming Electrical Storm to do massive damage. He is also team friendly, using himself as a lightning rod to take electrical damage from his foes.

Bah, humbug. Don't have anyone left open...
Divinity - Ugh, I'd think this out more, but I don't have time right now. You've seen him in action during KWET, and that's pretty much the basis of it, without all that extra backstory-past crap that I threw in and forgot to cut short. His fighting style is pretty much equivalent to Gamera at the end of the Heisei trilogy : basically, "I don't give two shits who the hell I kill or what gets in my way, if I have you targeted, you're dead." That being said, he does have some degree of cunning mixed into his attacks, but otherwise he's pretty much a straightforwards, charge and kill-or-be killed kinda guy.
His energy blade is his el numero uno for fighting, as he'll just slash up and poor dolt who gets in his way with that. Still, he knows his shield is big and fat and nasty, and he'll put it to get use by bashing with it as a melee weapon and blocking. Flight isn't often used for him, but he will pump out fire beams and arm gun shots at faraway foes. Using souls to paralyze is a common technique if the foe is at close range and he wants an easy hit to something vital, and the mist orbs are thrown in on anything that resists his normal weapons.
Jehovah's Wrath or whatever I had called it is honestly used only on an immobilized foe, or to catch someone not paying much attention to him.
If he isn't a joke kaiju...I mean, his backstory is ridiculous, but his powers are within reason:
Evangelion Unit-007 -
The rest is mixed into his abilities section, but basically Unit-007 goes free rein, berserker Eva style until Gendo either takes control or interferes. If this guy is considered joke, just drop him...
