Name: Yggdrasil (eeg-DRA-sil)
Height: 250 meters
Weight: 300,000 tons
Description: Yggdrasil resembles little more than a massive tree growing from the back of a skeletal turtle. The turtle body, of which all the flesh has long since been stripped away, revealing bleached white bones, has vines, roots, and leafy tendrils acting as muscle fibers and tendons, giving the tree some degree of locomotion. The insides of the turtle are replaed with more root and vine systems, and a reservoir of nutrients and fertilizers.
The tree itself is very stout and thick, with a system of green vines covering it and disappearing into the canopy. The canopy itself is a vibrant forest of greens, with strange, car sized fruits emerging along the branches periodically, with flying animals going from branch to branch. There are also a pair of branches that extend from the sides of the trunk, similar to arms, but without the same mobility.
Yggdrasil is not one creature, but two. The tree, which comprises the bulk of the monster, is sentient but lacking in locomotive abilities, while the vines that cover it are a symbiotic organism, designed to grapple with foes, while the host provides nourishment. Additionally, small, bat-like creatures live within the branches. These creatures are furry, with bright orange bodies and dusty brown underbellies, and prehensile tails.
Offensive Powers-
1. Vine Whips- Yggdrasil's vines can strangle, whip or otherwise attack a foe within their range. They have a 100 meter reach, and are quite strong. Multiple vines can combine to make stronger appendages.
2. Fruit- Yggdrasil has a number of fruits that grow on it, each one with a unique function as a projectile weapon. They are as follows...
- Pineapple Grenade- These spikey fruits, resembling pineapples, are filled with a volatile liquid and can be thrown at a foe. They will explode on impact, dealing about as much damage as 1/3 of a Spiral Grenade Missile, as well as spraying burning, spikey shrapnel over the area.
-Citrus Acid- These lemon-lik fruits will burst on impact and spread a highly corrosive acid onto the area. This is strong enough to melt through extremely dense and stable compounds in a few seconds, although the limited quantities in which they produce this acid make their overall effectiveness short-lived.
-Fluffpuff- These fruits resembles oranges after a fashion, but explode into massive clouds of fluff, which disrupts electronic guidance systems and clouds enemy vision, as well as irritates their senes of smell, often causing them to sneeze violently.
3. Arms- Yggdrasil also has a pair of powerful arms extending from the trunk, although their range and mobility is limited, they can still be quite damaging.
4. Muta-bats- The bat-like organisms living within the branches of Yggdrasil will often attack anything that threatens them or their home. They have sharp fangs and can easily penetrate thick hides, before burrowing in, tearing apart blood vessels and the like in organic creatures, or wires and circuitry in machines.
5. Turtle Jaws- The turtle corpse on which Yggdrasil lives has it's own set of jaws that it can bring into play via the vines that act as muscles. The have a potent bite, and can be used to hold a foe in place, while the arms pound them to dust.
Defensive Powers-
1. Armor Bark- Yggdrasil's trunk is covered in thick layers of bark, that not only repulses low caliber attacks with ease, but is surprisingly resistant to penetrating blows and fire as well. The canopy lacks this protection though.
2. Sap- Unlike many plant kaiju, Yggdrasil, both the tree and vines, secretes a sticky sap, rather than an acidic one. This sap is like kaiju strength super glue, holding fast any slashing appendage that breaks through the armor, even going so far as to gum up a chainsaw. It will quickly harden, preventing the use of that appendage, without ripping free skin to remove the sap, although a mild acid will do the trick nicely as well.
3. Yggdrasil is largely resistant to mental based attacks, and is immune to all poisons and diseases designed to affect animals. Also, due to the lack of animalistic sensory organs, attacks relying on suffocation, smell, sight, or other such factors do not effect it.
4. Regeneration- Yggdrasil can quickly regenerate damage to the outer layers of bark and the canopy, although deeper wounds take more time. -FMs and Enhanced mode only-
Weaknesses- Yggdrasil is slow, there's no other way around it. It cannot move at more than a lumbering pace, although keeping at a range does not guarentee a victory against it. Also, Yggdrasil is largely a pacifist, prefering to avoid conflict, thus an opponent will likely get the first move in.
