Draenyx Stats: tkarena.proboards81.com/index.cgi?board=stats&action=display&thread=1169221161
Summary: Draenyx, in fighting style, usually matches his foe. If they go in with melee, he matches them with that. If they go for projectiles, he retaliates in kind, meaning he’s more of a defensive, rather than offensive, battler. The Flame Breath comes into play most often, usually as fireballs and then beams if the former proves ineffective. The Mist Orbs are usually, but not necessarily, utilized in dogfights, and the Horn Conductor and Bladed Feathers come into play mostly in melee combat. The Guardian Strike is mainly a finisher, and Telekinesis is used to gain advantages in combat. The shield usually arrives after a severe barrage of projectiles, or against a beam-happy foe.
Battle Example:
Kyoto city. Japan. Nighttime. Heavy rain from a typhoon. There is a shimmering of light, rainbow colored.
Then Draenyx touches down, the massive guardian dragon-phoenix hybrid swooping out of the sky to let his talons smash into the tarmac and send it flying. Fortunately, his landing misses most of the buildings nearby, though the kinetic force of his touchdown causes a window to shatter in a house down near his feet. He throws his head back, the feathers around his neck shimmering and fluttering in the night air; a mighty roar emanates out into the sky, causing rain to dissipate before the sound waves like hippies before a group of police officers. That being down, his eyes narrow, and he scans the city for some stuff to pummel.
He is rewarded by a low moan behind him, long and loud. With a hiss, the hybrid spins, to spot the mutant Gyaos, Iris, standing there, yellow eyes glowering at him. With a feral grin, the guardian starts towards the demon, ready to let loose some serious ass-kicking.
On a nearby rooftop, a balding scientist guy, in a complete and utter parody of what most other people have been doing, screams, “MONSTERS...FIGHT!” Nobody hears. The guy grabs a megaphone and repeats himself, then realizes the two kaiju are already taking his unheard directions to heart.
Draenyx watches Iris closely, strafing the kaiju the best he can through the city’s crowded streets. He walks between the buildings, navigating around electrical wires. As he steps, tremors shatter store windows, sending powdered glass over manikins; cars are tossed into the air, alarms going off in the night. For some strange reason (Like a really pathetic plot hole) the entire city is devoid of human life.
All is quiet for a bit, save for the steps of the twin combatants, like dancers in a deadly duet. Then Iris makes the first move. With a low howl, it throws twin tendrils forwards, sending them spiraling through the air. One of them comes up, clips Draenyx’s shoulder spines. Another whips up, almost like an inquisitive animal, and slashes at his neck with its tip. The guardian pulls back, and gives an annoyed hiss.
Yet another two tentacles come in, and this time the guardian lashes out with wings, bladed feathers rattling at the ready. The first tendril pulls back, narrowly avoiding being hacked off. The second weaves in and spears Draenyx in the arm. Red blood sprays over the silvery blade, nearly quenching the yellow light within.
From behind, the two tendrils who had previously come in with an assault whoosh back, and smack Draenyx upside the horn. Then Iris throws another three back at the hybrid, ready to spear and stab. However, Draenyx is prepared, and his eyes flash and glow, the illuminating force expanding to light up the area.
Telekinetic force smites the first two tendrils, sending them into a wild spin around their third comrade and causing them to spiral out of control, crashing into a building. The eyes flash again, and the tendril in his arm is ripped bodily out and thrown back to its owner.
With a roar, Draenyx throws his head back and inhales air and water in equal quantities, before facing forwards and discharging an orb of flame at the mutant Gyaos. In response, the demon squid whips its tendrils back in to itself, protecting itself from the blast. In annoyance, Draenyx spits out another two in quick succession, both of which are batted aside by the silvery tips.
Now annoyed by the fact that his foe appeared impervious to his assaults, Draenyx bends his legs and suddenly rockets into the sky, beating his wings strongly once or twice to gain altitude. In response, Iris raises its tentacles and spawns membranes between them, taking off.
The two kaiju soar higher and higher now, passing through the rain and into the darkness above the clouds, a la mode Gamera 3’s aerial battle. However, the breathtaking arena is bloodied much faster. With a shaking of his wings, Draenyx sends five or six feathers, of all different colors – red, green, and blue, all paper thing and semi translucent, whooshing down, leaving trails of their respective hues behind them as they pass.
Iris jerks to the side, and its membranes moves it to the right. A bit too late. One feather, greenish and light, hacks through the tendril’s tip, slashing through yellowish and reddish material, sinew and flesh, to send blood and a sharp point spiraling away, pinkish ichor dropping through the night.
An agonized howl, a wail of anguish, splits the air. Draenyx roars his approval, and rising higher into the clear sky, he suddenly swivels, tail flying behind him, and glides, his wings out, hovering backwards and away. Incensed, Iris shoots up to its foe’s level, and moans again, a pulsating noise that resonates around, and raises its tendrils to smite.
Draenyx is out of the way in a flash. He folds his wings, plummets a good forty meters or so; then they snap back open again, jerking the hybrid to a stop. With intent to evade an assault, he flicks his newly unfurled wings and swoops directly over the flooring of clouds keeping the combatants from earth, skimming the mists with his talons.
Behind him, spearing tendrils rocket past his tail, narrowly missing their target and passing through the clouds as if nothing were ever there.
Draenyx now swerves, and this time his left wing becomes a blade that cuts through the butter of cloud cover, tacking hard to the left. But Iris still has a trick up its sleeve, and its tendrils raise up, up, up, and point at their target. Yellow orbs form and flash at their tips, then Iris begins to fire its sonic cutters at the guardian.
First, they come in small, short, half-second bursts, yellow blasts illuminating the sky. Draenyx turns sideways; many miss. One blasts into his leg, and drills in, sending chunks of flesh skyward. The guardian howls; with pleasure, the demon moans, and lets loose with longer bursts, that of a second or two.
Draenyx is now swooping, belly over the clouds, and Iris has a large target to aim at, sonic cutters slashing into flesh, hacking sinew and muscle alike. Blood sprays, the glowing gold ichor of a beast meant to defend the earth, and a gleeful Iris aims more cutters at the base of Draenyx’s neck. They, like their name, hew through scales with ease, and send more of the guardian’s lifeblood away.
Incensed, Draenyx pulls himself together and soars back up to Iris’s level, heading into a charge. But, not willing to abandon its advantage, Iris flicks its tendrils and glides back, firing all the while. With a snarl, Draenyx’s eyes flash again. This time, small bolts of white lightning crackle outwards and congeal into a semi-translucent bubble that surrounds the guardian.
Moments later, the next barrage of sonic cutters smash into the shield, pushing in on the bubble and splaying amber sparks over the sky. More white lightning crackles to the points of contact as the hybrid focuses his mind, and the shield pushes back to its original shape, restored.
With a flip of his wings, Draenyx now smirks as greenish orbs leave his wings’ hooked claws, eight in total, four from each. These spread out, curving through the night, leaving jade trails in their wake, along with a smattering of brilliant sparks.
But these pass to the side, and Iris, ignoring them, fires erratically at Draenyx, who continues coming on, on, on, shield in place. So, when the eight orbs converge on Iris’s back, the demon is unaware, and plows straight into them. Instantly, they burst into emerald flares, which in turn explode into sprays of celestial mist that settles over the mutant Gyaos’s back, eating through the metal plating like acid. Iris moans in agony, and the consecutive orbs disintegrate the shoulder spines, back of the legs, some tendril parts, and pretty much all of the back.
Before the demon can recover, Draenyx is in its face, and he rams horn first into this atrocity. Blood starts to spray, and Draenyx grins as he send force crackling through this channel. Iris starts to twitch and jerk, tendrils convulsing and jerking its arms. However, it gets over the pain, and it sends some tentacles back, ready to fire sonic cutters at the hybrid from behind.
But the guardian is already moving, and he flips in mid-air, his mighty tail smashing into the pointed face of his enemy and sending the groaning Iris away. The two spiral upwards to face each other, Iris still stunned. Prepared to finish this, Draenyx unleashes another octet of misty spheres, these ones swerving forwards like missiles to target Iris directly.
The demon starts upon noticing this, but it’s too late. Flame pouring from the sides of his maw, liquid fire gushing, energy crackling from his horn and back spikes, Draenyx sends a beam of pure flame right into Iris’s torso. For a second, the point of contact glows orange. Then a flurry of explosions occur, the black smoke and flame engulfing the demon’s face. When it ends, a gaping, cauterized hole looms in Iris’s chest, but it’s amazingly still alive.
But not for long. The barrage of orbs now soar into the open hole, and burst without further ado. Green mist sprays over entrails, girl-molesting internal sac, and other organs, dissolving them all instantly. Blood pours, and is eaten away as well. Iris’s chest is transformed, within seconds, into a hole, that of which even growing, until there is almost nothing left of it.
Draenyx glares downwards, watching Iris’s disemboweled carcass plummet and disappear through the clouds. Then the horrible shrieks catch his keen ears, and he swivels in the air.
A flock of Hyper Gyaos, three strong, come swooping at the guardian, ready to avenge their fallen brother. More sonic cutters arrive. But Draenyx, ready for this, simply counters with another shield. He flinches for a moment as the beams strike, but counters with the power of his own mind, retaliating with a telekinetic barrage of blows.
Two Gyaos are thrown bodily into each other, and fall with a tangle of wings. The third is slammed with the power of a mind, and floats onwards in the air, stunned, blood seeping from its chin. Before it can recover, Draenyx’s horn crackles, and the next moment, he hurls an orb of sheer, writhing lightning at the hell bird. It explodes, sending chunks of flesh flying every which way, and sending a headless demon following Iris.
The other two Gyaos are back up in the air, but Draenyx is in no mood to parry idle blows. Returning to earth, he dives straight down, wings folded, cutting through the sky, and trying an old trick that these particular foes haven’t seen. More feathers are left in his wake. One Gyaos dodges. The other isn’t as lucky, and gets its leg severed.
Amidst screams of pain, Draenyx jerks up again, and crashes down on the tarmac. It crumples beneath him, and windows around shatter, those that haven’t yet been broken. The wounded Gyaos plummets, out of control, into a mass of buildings nearby, which explode and engulf it. The other is on top of the hybrid in a second.
It screams. In fury, in rage, in anger. It beats its mighty wings upon the guardian, filling his ears with its dark passion, and claws at his open wounds with a furious foot. But Draenyx has had enough of this bird, and whips his wing at it. The feathers gash its leg, but before it can go anywhere, Draenyx plunges his horn deep into its chest, and electrocutes it without further ado.
Still paralyzed, the Gyaos is unable to stop Draenyx from hurling it helplessly into the sky. Before it can recover, he bounds up and slashes with his elongated claws, cutting through its spine and letting the corpse fall, wings draping the walls, blood spraying onto a shopkeeper’s windows. The wounded Gyaos rises out behind him. Draenyx turns, charging a blast of heat as he goes, and sets it ablaze with a beam of energized flame.
The corpse crumples and covers the rubble. Draenyx lets out a roar of fury, when the ground before his very eyes splits open to reveal his final foe of the moment.
The earth splits, to reveal the flames of hell itself, and out of it rises three necks, each one horned, black, and infinitely scaly. DesGhidorah, destroyer of worlds, is ready to combat this new guardian who challenges its reign of terror.
The pair’s roars fill the night. They resonate over the rooftops, hurt eardrums miles away. Then the battle begins once more, this time in earnest. DesGhidorah lets out a scream and begins a veritable barrage of energy, flames spewing from his three maws, energy pulsing from his form, and Fiery Pyre Roads or whatever smashing down the street towards Draenyx.
The shield comes up again, and this time, as the barrage of assaults concentrates on the front end, the hybrid is pushed back a bit, talons cutting through the ground. The shield starts to buckle on the front end as the Pyre Road smashes into it, but the guardian channels energy from the shield’s rear to the fore for more protection, while charging his own beam to fire forth. This one beats aside the blaze of flame and smashes into DesGhidorah’s frontal chest, sending sparks flying.
Startled, but unhurt, the demon lets out three consecutive roars of anger, but Draenyx is already charging. DesGhidorah starts to raise his central head for a burst of flame, but Draenyx’s mind is ready for that. His eyes flash again, and this time, with a supreme burst of effort, he wrenches DesGhidorah’s body towards the ground and the beast’s head to the skies.
The result? The central head’s neck gives in the center, scales ripping apart on flesh, leaving gooey trails in their wake. Sinew is stretched, then tears, sending blood pouring out the swiftly widening orifice, until only the neck’s spine is left. That snaps too, and Draenyx tosses the limp object over the city roofs.
By now, he’s right in front of DesGhidorah, and he raises a long arm and slashes his claws through the front of the beast. Scales part and are flipped up; flesh shreds and blood bursts over his claws, as he leaves a multitude of slash marks across the creature’s front.
The demon rises up, rearing and screaming, and the guardian darts under the flailing legs and swings again, ripping another bevy of marks in the creatures underside. It follows through with this motion with a powerful overhand, this time making a bunch of gashes from the beast’s front to rear.
But the hydra still has some tricks up its sleeve. With another cry, it slams its powerful bulk, legs first, onto Draenyx’s spiked shoulders, sending the guardian down and pinning him under its weight. With a grin, it begins to fire flame and energy down, bursting into explosions on its victim. With a growl, Draenyx bucks and swings with his wings, but the demon moves to avoid both.
That having failed, the hybrid lashes out with his telekinesis again, smashing the demon back up onto its hind legs. Draenyx turns and crawls to his feet, keeping his back to the enemy. As DesGhidorah tries to stamp down again, he lashes out with his tail, batting it in the underside and knocking it backwards.
Then he flips onto his back, draws back a leg, and smashes talons into DesGhidorah, sending sparks flying. But then both heads clamp down on his shoulders and lift him off the ground, sending excruciating waves of pain through the hybrid. In fury, one wing swings around, and the razor-sharp feathers cut through DesGhidorah’s right head like butter, sending the decapitated form down to earth.
Draenyx bounds back a good five hundred meters or so, having been released by a screaming third head, and faces his foe. Time to finish this. Energy begins to pulse up his wing bones, through his feathers, down his horn, up his back spines, and a vortex of whitish power begins to build around his mouth, spinning and swiveling. Energy starts to pour from the buildings, the rubble, the demon’s corpses, the air itself, and conjoin at one point in his chest, entering his bulky frame.
Suddenly, the guardian’s form bursts into a brilliant splendor, his entire frame illuminated in the glow of a pure white light. His form flickers like energy itself; as he takes a step forwards and bends to point his neck forwards at DesGhidorah, trails of force mark his passing.
A barrage of three or four concentric rings pulse from his mouth, then a massive energy ray, rings following its passage, rockets out of his mouth, like a heavenly spear come to destroy all in its path. The third head of DesGhidorah looks on in muted resignation as the guardian’s strongest assault smashes into it directly, then explodes. The white light emanates outwards in all directions; within seconds, the hellbeast is reduced to particles of dust, which in turn disintegrate even more, until it is nothingness. The light fades, revealing everything (With the exception of the hydra) to be unharmed.
With a final, victorious roar, Draenyx takes to the sky and leaves. The mysterious Shao Kahn type voice, in a blatant parody of some other example battles, cries, “TEST COMPLETE – oh, forget it.”
