Sounds like an actual movie, doesn't it? Well, since no one else feels like it, I'll bring the first of the Arena Fantasy Matches into play. Before anyone say anything, I haven't seriously clashed with IR in a while now. I just thought Scorpius holding Ry's weakness would make the battle interesting. Queen Rygama - tkarena.proboards81.com/index.cgi?board=stats&action=display&thread=1169840538Sample - tkarena.proboards81.com/index.cgi?board=demo&action=display&thread=1175295855Scorpius - tkarena.proboards81.com/index.cgi?board=stats&action=display&thread=1169176323Sample - tkarena.proboards81.com/index.cgi?board=demo&action=display&thread=1175318555Arena: Nevada Desert, just outside Las Vegas This one takes some thought from me. Scorpius' pincers pack mad power, and with that venom, he's undeniably going to maim Rygama in this skirmish, but at the same time, Rygama could quickly do the same to Scorpius, what with the fluid nature of her breath weapon, not to mention her brute strength both taking advantage of the gaps in Scorpius' armor. If Scorpius can get multiple stings in major sections of Rygama's body, he can disable her, but Rygama's not one to let the same weapon hurt her twice, and it probably wouldn't be long before Scorpius found his stinger ripped off. Let's not forget that once Rygama removes Scorpius' claws and stinger, he's completely harmless to her, While Rygama would have to lose a wing in order for it to turn truly ugly for her, and she has those downright nasteh arms between Scorps and her wings. Naturally I'm thinking Rygama, but that's partially because I know her best.

Scorpius likes to use his acid, and that stuff is gonna wreak havoc on Rygama, especially considering she doesn't dodge much. One hit from it, and she's gonna be hurting bad, regardless of whether or not she chooses to feel it.
So yeah, Scorpius FTW.

It's not about feeling, it's about actual damage. Rygama is Jason Vorheese with wings(And an actual sense of compassion, but mainly wings here). Just because it eats a hole in her body doesn't mean it's going to slow her down. Also, Rygama didn't dodge Spacegodzilla's corona beam because it didn't hurt her. Once she encountered an actual threat(the wasps, which she knew could seriously injure her), she made every effort to dodge or parry. Note how she took to the sky and tried to evade. Yes, she failed, but these things are essentially the same as GTS' Queen Bee, they're pretty agile.
Rygama may take a few hits from the acid, but once she does, she's going to be dodging. Also, that superheated water blast is going to wreak just as much havoc on Scorpius as his acid is going to on her. It may not be as powerful, but Scorpius' lack of damage reduction makes up for that. Scorpius' acid is going to be a potent offense for him, but it sure aint gonna save him. Especially considering he might not get to use it for the entire fight...

Just because it eats a hole in her body doesn't mean it's going to slow her down. It sure as hell will if it eats completely through her leg, or, should she be unlucky enough to take a hit to the face, melt her head clean off. Pain is only part of being crippled by an attack. If the muscles to move the appendage are no longer there, it's not going to move. Period. Considering a couple hits is all it'll take to royally screw her... This isn't some wimpy Biollante acid here. Scorpius' acid makes Bio's look like vinegar.

Only wimps depend on heads.
If Rygama was some scrawny, wirey, insectlike little gnat, that might be an issue. It just so happens, however, that Rygama has more mass than TWO Destroyahs compacted together. She is like a walking lead weight. Burning through all that compacted muscle is going to take more than two shots. I don't care if that stuff did completely eat out Megalon's face, by the time he fires enough shots to actually do some real damage, Rygama'll have bitten his stinger off.
Oh please, it'll slow her down, and that's a worst case scenario for her. Trying to Destroy Rygama is like trying to destroy a hypercompressed Biollante. There is a LOT of mass - much of it armor plated or ungodly thick - to destroy before you actually hurt her.
And this isn't some wimpy Seesar style brawler, Rygama's muscle makes Heisei Godzilla look like an anorexic schoolgirl.

Only wimps depend on heads. So you both admit that Rygama is boned if she takes a hit to the face and you're calling her a wimp. Uh-huh. Now you're forgetting about Scorpius' other weapons. If he catches any part of Rygama's body in one of his claws, it's as good as useless from then on, because it'll either be crushed beyond recognition or just plain ripped off. And then there's that nasty venom of his. Even you admit that that will wreak havoc on her. -points to her face- And I'm sure she'd love fighting with a good portion of her innards dissolved thanks to taking a hit to her abdomen. So does Scorpius'.

Actually I'm responding to your comment about her losing her head in a manner that was intended to be humorous. Apparently I failed.
Actually, I disagree that Rygama would lose her head to the acid on the grounds that Megalon didn't. Only the front portion of his face was dissolved. Rygama's head is specifically designed to slam into opponents at mach speeds(something she does on more than one occasion in her stories), I seriously doubt that acid's going to have an easy time eating through it.
Also, the point of the joke was to point out that Rygama doesn't need a head to fight. Her brain can divert its information to the rest of her body in a heartbeat.
I doubt that. Scorpius' claws strike me as similar to Wendigo's in terms of crushing\cutting ability. Rygama's dealt with it before. Know how? By shrugging it off and breaking Wendigo's arms again and again. The only limb Wendigo succeded in totally disabling was one of her wings. Crushing Megalon's drill is impressive, but Rygama's limbs are something else. When Scorpius pushes on them, they push back with equal strength. Oh yeah, he'll damage them, he may even destroy one if he gets a good hold on, but it's not going to save him because once Rygama destroys that stinger, she's only got one thing to worry about, and if it gets too nasty for her, she could easily take to the skies and just bombard him until he melts.
Did I mention the possibility of Rygama attacking from behind, away from the pincers, grabbing his tail and cracking him open against a rock? He has no rear-mounted weaponry, he's all forward.
For as long as it functions, of course. You're neglecting Rygama's own offense. I see her stepping right onto Scorpius' head, grabbing the tail and wrenching the last segment off in her teeth, or just crushing the stinger itself. Ry isn't Orochi, if she catches that thing, it's coming off.
Oh heck, what's to stop her from just jabbing her claws into the bug's brain and killing it?
She wouldn't like it, but she'd do it just the same.
I highly doubt Scorpius' strength compares to Rygama's. At her natural size of 42 meters, she succeded in heaving a 300,000 ton aircraft carrier over her head and hurling it a good distance. Scale that up.

Rygama's head is specifically designed to slam into opponents at mach speeds(something she does on more than one occasion in her stories), I seriously doubt that acid's going to have an easy time eating through it. This isn't a concentrated beam that only hits one small area. It's a stream of liquid that will cover her entire head if it hits. So, at the very least, her eyes will be gone. Fat lot of good that'll do when she can't see, hear, or smell. That doesn't really tell me anything, since I have no idea who Wendigo is. You're assuming he'll grab hold of something meaty. There's no hope for her if he grabs hold of her head. She has a very limited supply of that uber-water. Scorpius, for all intents and purposes, has an unlimited supply of acid. Do the math. ...You're suggesting that she'll be able to sneak up behind a creature that can feel the slightest vibration both in the air and in the ground? 'Course, if she bites it, she'll quickly get a jet of acid down her throat... And, as it says in her bio, hemotoxin is especially bad for her. Guess what Scorpius has? -gasp!- Very potent hemotoxin! He stings her shoulder, her arm blows off. He stings her thigh, her leg blows off. He stings her neck, her head blows off. He stings her abdomen, she blows apart in any number of nasty ways. His obnoxiously tough armor, duh. I realize I haven't written it up yet, but I will eventually have battles between NSG, BF, Giga, and Scorpius. In the final of these matches, in which all 4 of them are fighting, a nuke will be detonated in the middle of them. Both Giga and Scorpius will emerge essentially unscathed by virtue of their armor (NSG and BF will do the same, albeit through the use of their shields). Kinda hard to function without a heart... And Scorpius crushed a solid hunk of material that's capable of handling the stresses of ripping though the earth at mach 3 as easily as he would a soda can. He may not be able to throw things around as well as Rygama (primarily because he's not really built to do so), but he'd be more than capable of tearing apart SG in a fraction the time it took her to.

You are SERIOUSLY underestimating Rygama's material toughness. A blast of the stuff hit Megalon's head and part of it remained when he was done. Rygama's head > Megalon's head.
Again, one or two jets of acid are NOT going to totally disable her senses. The entity that composes her brain spends most of its life independant, it has its own set of senses. Rygama's BRAIN sees, her NERVOUS SYSTEM sees.
Read Ry's bio at KG, covers everything. Wendigo has Scorpius-like claws, and he's a LOT more flexible than the bug.
If he grabs ahold of her head, he'll tick her off, just like he will if he grabs ahold of anything else. Nothing more. She doesn't NEED, a head, she doesn't NEED a heart, she doesn't NEED lungs, a stomach, intestines, a liver or even blood. She has them to sustain her body. Short term loss of these organs isn't going to hamper her in the least. In the unlikely event he can grab ahold of her head without her grabbing his claw and ripping it off, what then? She can still see him, she can still beat the crap out of him, she can still stab him, pick him up and toss him halfway accross Nevada, she can still carry him into the trophosphere and drop him... All it's doing is eliminating her grotesquely strong jaws.
Doesn't matter. She can fire three overwhelmingly massive shots of the stuff, and each one will be seeping between the gaps on Scorp's armor. If you'll recall, it cut one of the hornets in two. I reiterate, the hornets = Queen Bee minus the projectile stingers. In other words, they can survive being bathed in lava.
No, if Orochi bites, he'll get a jet of acid down his throat. But Scorps isn't fighting Orochi, he's fighting something infinitely scarier. Scorp's stinger'll be gone before he gets the chance.
Oh, and her esophagus is kindof... you know... immune to extreme temperatures or corrosives...
Sneak? I'm talking about swooping behind and grabbing him before he gets a chance to react. He tries to bend over and grab her ankles, he loses his leverage and gives Rygama the advantage.
Assuming he gets a chance to use it that many times...
...He won't...
Impressive.
Course Rygama's talons are more or less a no-limits falacy. They can stab through literally anything. The only thing keeping her from hacking off limbs with them is her lack of leverage in that position. Heck, if Spacegodzilla were built low to the ground, she'd have just stabbed his brain and been done with it. Of course her sheer strength dictates that if she tried that with a biped, she'd be more likely to send them flying than make that kind of penetration.
Scorpius is very different.
Heck, she could easily just peel his armor off.
-snorts- For you maybe.
His claws are strong, but the way he's built gives him incredibly little leverage. That puts him at a distinct disadvantage against this opponent. He tries to grab onto her, he'll get his pedipalps stomped into the ground.
No duh, Rygama could've gotten away with throwing pies in SG's face if she wanted to... She didn't see him as a threat so she didn't exert herself in killing him.
The gist of it is, that while Scorpius has three excellent offensive weapons, he's going up against something larger, stronger and more intelligent than anything he's ever been able to. Tearing it apart won't work here unless he does so completely, and it's going to be tearing him apart right back all the while.

You are SERIOUSLY underestimating Rygama's material toughness. A blast of the stuff hit Megalon's head and part of it remained when he was done. Rygama's head > Megalon's head. Correction: Part of Megalon's head remained when Scorpius roared in triumph. Acid has this nasty little habit of continuing to work for some time after it contacts something. You can't see, hear, or smell without eyes, ears, and a nose. The entity can still be there all it wants, but if it doesn't have the organs through which to detect stimuli, it can't detect them. How the hell are her muscles going to function without a blood supply to keep them nourished? The tossing and dropping really won't do much to him, but whatever. And there's still no way she can see without eyes. It's superheated, radioactive water. Scorpius is immune to radiation, including when it's utilized in attacks. So that leaves it as superheated water which, if it's so incredibly hot, will evaporate almost instantly. Whoop-dee-doo. Scorpius' acid would've reduced them to a puddle of goo. What's your point? Funny, but I didn't see any displays of exceptional jaw strength on her part in the demo battle. And don't try that "Super strength is listed in her powers" stuff. Lifting things with your arms and legs has nothing to do with jaw power. And if you want me to get technical, it says in her bio that her "skull and spine are both parts of her body where the bone and exoskeleton have merged into much thicker, tougher plates." That leaves very little room for muscles. First of all, acid isn't hot. Secondly, hot, radioactive water isn't corrosive. So yeah, Scorpius' acid will work just fine. He was able to keep Megs in his sights well enough, and considering Megs is more agile than Rygama, I'm doubting your scenario. He only needs one to cripple her. He could possibly even kill with a single well-placed sting. Hah, I can play that game too. Scorpius' acid can melt completely through literally anything. If they were so godly sharp, simple inertia shouldn't be a factor. If they were as powerful as you say, they should be able to turn anything to ribbons with a powerful enough swipe, because they slice though matter so easily that they wouldn't encounter enough resistance to send anything flying. In short: Contradiction, AHOY! Yeah, stand still for a few seconds while you're well within range of several things that can horribly maim you. Brilliant strategy. And for anything else, really. No heart means no circulation of blood, which means no nourishment for muscles, which means the muscles can't move. So regardless of how mch you don't like it, the fact remains that she would not be able to function for more than a minute without a heart or lungs. Assuming she still has feet to do any stomping with in the first place. Aren't you the one that always criticizes SG for being arrogant and underestimating his opponents? See, this is what you don't seem to get. The moment Rygama loses an appendage - ANY appendage- her ability to fight is lowered. Not because of pain, but because losing an appendage cripples you. She loses a leg, she can no longer stand. She loses a wing, she can no longer fly. She loses an arm, she can no longer grapple. Any one of those is a severe hindrance, and makes it that much easier for Scorpius to repeat the process.

Um, if I SAY it can, it can. Know why? Becauses it's kinda MY creation, and if I say that a vaporous entity can live its entire life sensing its environment through means other than eyes, then guess what bud? It can sense its environment through means other than its eyes. It doesn't need eyes to see, its entire body has the hammerhead-like ability to percieve its environment through the electromagnetic particles around it.
Nervous system infuses them with its own bio-energy supply as a temporary alternative fuel source.
From the trophosphere?
Unless I say she can.
Um, housabout gripping Spacegodzilla's neck with enough anchorage to bend his previously immobile neck back to the point of snapping? Housabout ripping out a chunk of it in her teeth?
"Super-Strength" applies to the entirety of her body. I would know, having written it.
Other bios of her specifically mention that her jaws are as strong as any other part of her body.
Are you familiar with the concept of a nuclear reactor? Radiation is used to heat water. Rygama's ray is in no way radiation-based. The radiation is used to bring the water to scalding temperatures, not harm opponents directly.
No duh, sherlok, it's plasma... read the sample battle again, you'll find that mentioned. It's a mixture of gas, plasma and liquid. All three of those have a way of seeping between armor plates.
As an omnivore, Rygama's stomach acids are grotesquely strong, and unlike you or I, Rygama can change her body to adapt to bodily inconviniences. Coating her esophagus in a protective layer of mucous that blocks out acid was one of her earliest merits. When you can digest bone, it pays to be able to survive vomiting. It was later strengthened to be able to withstand her own liquid heat blast.
Not at once, however.
Well, you are toting that acid around like it's the Holy Grail...
Well, since it would kill him instantly and all...
And a giant scorpion couldn't support itself with those scrawny legs, or heck, manage such a high-pitched cry, but do you hear me criticizing you for it? Rygama's bodily functions are more alien than anything we're ever seen on Earth, who are you to tell me what she can and can't do? She is a water-breathing Archosaur fossil brought back to life via a vaporous entity that lives in our trophosphere and posesses dead tissue, reviving it with biological radiation. Where in that summary does it say anything about sticking to the tradiitonal laws of biology? In other words, if I SAY Rygama has Vorhees-like damage reduction, then guess what boy? She has Vorhees-like damage reduction.
Understimating? Rygama could've raped SG if she felt like it! She's ALLOWED to play with him.
The fact that every single extrmity of her body is a lethal weapon, however, makes that less than crippling for her.

It can sense its environment through means other than its eyes. It doesn't need eyes to see, its entire body has the hammerhead-like ability to percieve its environment through the electromagnetic particles around it. Hammerheads don't see with their ampullae of Lorenzini, bub. They sense electrical fields. And I don't see that listed in Rygama's stats. You lose. That's not listed in her stats anywhere. You lose again. Height is irrelevant after something reaches its terminal velocity, which only takes a few seconds. So yes, even from the trophosphere. You can say she can all you want, but if it's not listed in her stats it doesn't mean squat. I can say Scorpius could make Rygama spontaneously combust just by looking at her, but it's not listed in his stats, so it's moot. The neck snapping was all arm/neck strength. And ripping a piece of flesh that had probably already been stretched to its limit isn't all that great of a feat. And yet the only example you give involves arm and leg strength... But not the ones here. And those are the only ones that matter here. Oooh, boiling water. I'm scared. Doesn't change the fact that it's superheated water, which will evaporate almost instantly. The bio describes it as water superheated by radiation. The description in the battle really makes no mention of it being any different, aside from a quick "plasmatic" thrown in before "seawater" when she uses it against the final wasp. Nowhere do you mention gases. Firstly, just because I have very strong stomach acid, that doesn't mean I can chug highly concentrated sulfuric acid and not have a hole eaten in my stomach. Secondly, nowhere in Rygama's bio is it listed that she can change her own body to adapt. You lose... again. Nice job missing my point. Well, it is insanely strong. Yeah... no.

Not talking about the ampullae, buddy. It's a seventh sense entirely.
And why should I go to the trouble of describing in detail that the entity has its own set of senses, when her bio describes it as a living being all its own, which, naturally, would be able to register its environment. How else do you think they find dead tissue to infest? It's not explained because it's obvious.
I win.
Because it's not required. It's simply the nature of her biology. Her ability to shrug off damage IS mentioned in her bio, thusly it's entirely relevant.
I win again.
I mentioned that the entity was a living being all its own, common sense SHOULD tell you that it has its own set of senses. Or should I be getting after you for not mentioning Scorpius' ability to survive, despite his smaller bretheren lacking lungs sufficient to sustain something that size?
Oh please, all her limbs did was anchor her to the spot. The breaking itself was done with her jaws and neck.
It's not boiling water, smart guy, it's superheated plasmatic seawater. And it ate Spacegodzilla and the hornet alive, so I'd watch my mouth if I were you.
Why should I be so inclined to mention gases? It's superheated seawater, of COURSE it generates gases from the cooled plasma.
Oh good lord...
READ Rygama's REAL bio over at KG, and you might learn something. Her ability to modify her body is utterly useless in combat because it takes so long to work. That's why I made no mention of it in her combat bio. Secondly, we DO see Rygama utterly unfased by a corona beam to the mouth. How does one create an oral resistance to heat? Usually through some sort of coating. In this case, that would be the case.
I win for the upteenth time now.
Being stabbed in the brain wouldn't kill him? Nonono, Rygama's MY monster, you're the one who's on the side of the bug.
That might mean something if it actually wasn't in the stats.
It is.
Knew nothing about?! Baby, she could see inside him, and she had already been hit with his main weapon. She softend him up with a few hits, THEN started playing with him once she saw that his weapons didn't do jack to her. She could already see he was useless in melee, and if he actually had anything else worthwhile, he'd have used it on her by then. She knew he was helpless, so she didn't exert herself in finishing him off.
For one, she'd have to lose both legs, or both a leg and her tail before she was unable to stand.
Second, it takes a good deal more to cripple her than it does for Scorpius. Once she takes off the stinger, he's almost useless.

How else do you think they find dead tissue to infest? It's not explained because it's obvious. I win. Just because something can register its environment, that doesn't mean it can see. Something could easily find dead tissue simply be detecting chemicals in the surrounding air/water/ground. A method which is far too slow and vague to work against a living opponent. So yeah, you still lose. Shrugging off damage is completely different from functioning without a blood supply. You lose again. Its own senses, yes. But again, that doesn't mean it can see on its own. An amoeba can sense its surroundings, but it can't see. Jaw strength isn't required to push something back. Her jaws just held SG's neck. And Scorpius is far more durable than either of them could ever hope to be. So it still won't do jack to him, aside from piss him off. No, you don't. It's not mentioned in the bio here, so what is in her "real" bio is irrelevant, because here the bio that's posted on this site is the real bio. Not my fault you failed to mention half a dozen powers in it. And in regards to the heat resistance, I'm not disputing that in the least. But acid doesn't generate heat (well, it might in some cases, but it's not what does the damage), so heat resistance it COMPLETELY moot. Yeah, being stabbed in the brain would kill him. But Rygama can't break through his exoskeleton. And remember Bio, according to your own logic, I say Rygama can't penetrate it, and since Scorpius is my monster, that means she can't. Period. End of story. Now, of course, you'll say that Rygama can penetrate Scorpius' exoskeleton, and since she's your monster, that means she can. See the problem with that logic, Bio? Just saying something works that way doesn't fly. Just because she can see inside him doesn't mean she knew what he was capable of. He could have had an attack capable of annihilating her instantly, but perhaps he'd be reluctant to use it because of the strain it put on him. If that were the case, she'd be screwed because of her arrogance. But she still wouldn't be able to walk effectively. It takes a good deal more to cripple her than him? Normally, yes. But Scorpius is capable of causing her to blow apart with a single attack. The two of them get into a tussle, Scorpius' tail whips around and plants itself in her torso (which is very likely right where it would go, given her stance), and Rygama blows apart after a few seconds.

How would such a mass be able to detect predators? If it relied on that simple method, it wouldn't, and its adaptation, which is the entire bloody reason Rygama even exsists, would be moot because it would never know when predators were becoming overpopulated, and thusly never know when to find a host and create a new Rygama.
No matter how badly you want it not to be true, Rygama's nervous system has its own set of senses that allow it to detect movement.
