1. Deciding witch five players have the most original kaiju 2. What five kaiju of theirs is the most original. 3. What kaiju out of those five is the original of their creators. 4. What is the most of original kaiju out of remaining five.
We are on part one right now. There are rules as to how you vote.
- Give reasons. - Do not vote for more than five people. - Do not vote for less than five people. - Do not change votes after posting. - Do not vote for yourself.
Voting should be done like this.

1. Monster Master.MM has, hands down, the greatest variety of kaiju out of all of us. He's got lots of different types of kaiju on his roster, and he's tried a lot of concepts that no one else has ever really done before. It'll be hard picking just five. 2. Bio.Well, no big surprise here. Bio's always striving to be as fresh and unique as he can be with his monster designs, so I think it'd be pretty unfair if I didn't list him here. He's certainly got enough original designs to deserve a spot here. 3. PyrasTerran.Alright, technically he only has one monster, but I checked with MM and I CAN vote for him. He may only have one kaiju, but it's a damn good one. Very, very cool, and very, very original. 4. OmegaRex24.What can I say? When it comes to mechanical kaiju, Omega's the king. He's got some very memorable mechs, and while you could argue that their basic concepts are nothing new, I think any one of them would stand out in the crowd for uniqueness and general superiority. 5. Yaburu.Yaburu's got some neat, unique monsters. And since he's got 6 of em, that makes it pretty easy for me to pick out 5.

1. Monster Master: Yeah...DH pretty much covered it all. Guy isn't 100% original, as, if I recall correctly, some kaiju are just pics he found and built on, but he's got so much stuff going for him, he's gotta be either way. Milenko (name aside) and Demortis are great and hilarious, and King Claw has just gotta override the presence of his remakes like Gigan or GKG.
2. DinoHunter2: I'm not sure if ALL of them are 100% original, but from what I can tell, most of those dinosaur-critters look plenty original to me. Plus, he has a GIANT BALL KAIJU. How can you argue the originality of a giant, spiky, ball?
3. Bio: Ah, yes...truth be told, I haven't seen much of what Bio has in too many places, so I think it's safe to say that he is pretty original. Rygama is one of the most developed kaiju I've ever seen, story-wise, and those two crazy beasts with motorcycles and musical instruments...tch. That says original, now doesn't it?
4. Omegarex24: I'm relatively certain that Riptide, Darktide and some of the others would never have existed if it weren't for Mechagodzilla. 'Course, that ain't all OR has up his sleeve. If Magmire and Cacharius aren't household names to you by now, and you've been on this site long enough, get out from that rock you've been living under, find a proper place to access the internet, and get off whatever you're smoking. Those two, as well as quite a few others, have got this in the bag...
5. Azure_Ghidorah: Sure, sure, DRAGONS. Yeah, everyone knows that there are god knows how many millions and trillions of dragon kaiju out there, not to mention that Perfect Chaos is something from Sonic, if I recall correctly...still, the way he did Solranous and the rest of the guy's relatives are quite nice. And a dragon that has a baby with a human...ooh, haven't seen that for quite a while. And you know putting Burning and Freezing before kaiju names is awesome...

1. Monster Master -He has 30+ kaiju already, and has some more in the works to make 40. All but like 3 are spawned purely from his twisted little mind. I really don't think I need to go any farther with this...
2. HyperGFreak -See above. And he has the uncanny ability to come up with names that are nigh-impossible to pronounce.
3. Bio -All of his monsters are his own, that's for sure. And his roster contains some of the more... freaky kaiju I've seen. Freaky in the good way, of course.
4. Omegarex24 -Riptide and Darktide are classics that manage to be completely original despite being composed mostly of Gundam parts. That in and of itself deserves praise.
5. Dinohunter2 -Dude... wierd dino-things out the yin-yang. And a planetoid. 'Nuff said.

Monster Master- He's got a roster so massive, that it'll be hard to figure out a top five for him. However, even with a few of his kaiju coming from pre-made pictures, his genetic abberations are nothing to sneeze at, and the fact that he can come up with origins and movelists for everything like he does is nothing short of impressive.
Bio- He and I might not always see eye to eye, but the man has style, I'll give him that. Rygama is one of the single most well thought out kaiju I've ever encountered, and overall, he's got a flair for the unusual.
HyperGFreak- He's got a lot of variety, and his own crazy style is more than enough to make up for some of his remakes. Definately original in many aspects.
Lordnidhogg- Again, another person who I don't always see eye to eye with. However, he puts the GOD in Godzilla. His kaiju are nothing short of twisted and evil, and extremely unique, even if many of them are somewhat...overpowered at times.
DinoHunter2- A planetoid and a number of dinosaurians. what's not to like? His stuff, while seemingly generic in appearance, are all very unique in terms of origins and abilities. Even hsi take on Godzilla is a new one.

Been pondering this one quite a bit.
1. Ghost-Rider - I'm surprised no one's brought him up. I realize he's not posted everyone he owns yet, but even those he has are some of the most personality-driven, most neo-retro, most bizarre and likeable characters I've seen in the fandom. He genuinely approached daikaiju as characters, and does a bloody good job of making them memorable.
2. MonsterMaster - With over thirty monsters to his name and counting, with VERY few repeated themes, it'd be unfathomable to imagine him not on the list. He geneuinely strives for originality and personality in his creations, and seems to have a considerable amount of pride in them. From giant crabs to clowns, to fish-men, to demons with skull-hands, he's covered nearly everything in some way or another.
3. PyrasTerran - I've seen what he can do. It's intimidating. Besides that, he manages to bring an arthropod/shark/skeleton beast and make it believable as a perfectly normal animal.
4. Dinohunter - Despite his name, there really aren't a whole lot of dinosaurs to his name. He's got wooly dragons, aliens, abberations, a flying snake and a tiny, flesh-eating planetoid with telekinetic control over its own moons. How could you not consider that.
5. Omegarex - It's tough to be original with that many dragons and mecha, but he manages to pull it off nicely. Everyone has distinct personality, and seems to be very well thought out. Besides that, Chimeragon bloody rocks.

1. Bio - Dude.. Come on. Look at his kaiju.. If there's one person in here whom strives for originality as much as me and DH.. It's him.
2. DinoHunter2 - Planetoid? Hell, I never even thought of that. Then the Platypus..
3. HyperGFreak - Second largest amount of kaiju, him not on this would.. not be right.
4. OmegaRex24 - Three kaiju: Riptide, Darktide, Carcharrius. Then add in Magmire, Chimeragon, and his others..
5. Yaburu - Loving some of his kaiju.. Lots of thought thrown into his.

And it has ended! The top five original kaiju makers are...
Monster Master Bio Omegarex24 DinoHunter2 HyperGFreak
Now for part two. Deciding witch five kaiju of each member is the most original of all their party. Doing this is much like the first part.
Example:
Monster Master - Argus: Reasons - King Claw: Reasons - Darklore: Reasons - Gigan: Reasons - Great Milenko: Reasons
Repeat for next 5 members. Unlike first part, the players can choose their own kaiju... So I can state whom I think is my most original kaiju.. You get the idea. Go!

Oh hell, this is gonna be a pain...
Monster Master: - The Great Milenko: I don’t think the picture’s MM’s, but damn, I think this is the guy who characterized “humor” kaiju, like Big Rick, my Davy Stoned, and all the rest...and he has that hilarious “overcooked hot dog” quote to boot. - Thunder: *Sighs* The trademark chimera-thing-dude of MM, the guy’s gotta be on here somewhere... - Scorpadon: And of course, the list wouldn’t be complete without the man-boobed extraterrestrial’s rival, the biggest bad bug with the biggest pain-in-the-arse mass blasting attack. - Taninim: Hey, hey, baby, there’s a new hero in town...and it ain’t Peter Parker. For god’s sakes, what other fish kaiju has killed terrorists? - Argus: And here he comes, possibly one of the most overpowered kaiju in MM’s roster...and of course, the good ol’ dino-god.
Bio: - Queen Rygama: *Snorts* Anyone who doesn’t list her really needs to pull his/her head out of that place it’s stuck...rarely have I seen a kaiju with such a detailed backstory, with the exception of my own revamped ones, of course. xD And she’s a filthy, stinkin’ tank to boot. - Superion: So unoriginal he’s original. That should make sense... - Sir Megorga: A gentlemanly wasp. With a f*cking motorcycle that he puts to great use. Dude...that oughta explain it all... - Roxy: And SHE has the damn electric guitar. Yeah...enough said. - The Rage: I dunno about this, but I’ve always had a soft spot for creepy tree things...and I haven’t seen a kaiju of that design yet...
Omegarex24: - Riptide: Honestly, when you think about it, it’s rather obvious that he was inspired by one of the Mechagodzillas...but since then, he’s evolved into his own being, an incarnation of mech combatant that we all have to appreciate. ...yeah. - Jericho: Not only is he named after a desert, he’s MIE cannon fodder and he has four big-ass guns that orbit him. And they shoot bullets at Mach 50. And he’s also a walking mass of guns...haven’t seen giant flying pistols in a long time. - Magmire: See Riptide...I know for a fact that Omega’s had this guy up his sleeve for a few years already, and like Riptide, he’s evolved quite a bit into his own, fully original kaiju. This guy is what we all think of when they say “golem.” - Cacharius: I don’t actually know Cacharius that much, but he’s another household name, and honestly, I haven’t seen a shark capable of that mobility on land. And that anti-coagulant is just kickass... - Frosty: That nickname should explain it all. ^_^
DinoHunter 2: - The Entity: A giant ball. As if that wasn’t unique and perverse enough, he has more balls around him. Yeah...not good snake food, I’m sure... - Slappy: I’ve always imagined a “rival” for Milenko...but I never thought of a psychotic mime kaiju, I’m sure. Slappy...he almost sounds like a guy from a comedy routine... “The Slappy and Milenko Show!” - Ghouldon: I don’t know what happened to the other pic of him, but I’ve always thought this guy was cool, with all his pointy parts and whatnot... - Ovira: One thing: that “organic rail gun.” Honestly, how many other kaiju shoot parts of their reproductive system at people, and effectively to boot? xD - Unit 246: The guy looks...weird, but honestly, that is one original ‘bot there. He still gets to me with that pose...
HyperGFreak the Sexy: And lastly, moi. Just to note that my own votes should honestly not reflect on anyone else’s, as I can’t really judge myself accurately... *Sighs* Don’t think I can even be accurately judged without my revamp up, as I know and you know half my kaiju are shit right now, but whatever... - The MIE: Not very original at first, but by now, with my revamp and all, its evolved into a lean, mean, gravity-screwing machine. And its had four incarnations. Beat that. - Draenyx: Yeah, Draenyx was just a Godzilla with colorful wings at first...while no one knows about his revamped state aside from me, I can say with full certainty that he as well has become something totally new and improved. Yeah. - Hellflux: Needs revamping, but it’s not gonna change much overall. I haven’t seen many other “dark” machines out and about, and here he is, literally embodying it... - Liyscrix: Right now, he’s just an alien with a god-awful name that sounds like a STD...but what only I know is that he has one of the most in-depth backstories out of all my kaiju now, and that’s what I like him for. He’s just like god...hehe... - Evangelion Unit-007: The idea in itself ain’t original...but Gendo piloting an Eva certainly is...

Monster Master: - Great Milenko. Okay, the design may be taken from an upcoming video game, but MM has certainly made it his own. I think this is the first time I've ever seen the "evil clown" concept introduced into the world of giant monsters. -Argus. Though ridiculously powerful, Argus hasn't got a single ranged attack. He proves that monsters don't have to have a ton of crazy beam attacks to be good, and is also one of the few *true* ceratopsian kaiju I've seen. -Rosie. What can I say... Rosie has really begun to grow on me. He's got kind of a Rampage charm to him, and the sheer novelty of a giant walrus with a mohawk makes him stand out in a crowd. -Qthulu. Alright. Cthulu-ish squid monsters have been done a lot. Rock monsters have been done a lot too. But Cthulu-ish rock-squid monsters...? Let's just say I didn't see this one coming and leave it at that. -Dunkleoder. Despite being one of the most badass fish of all time, I very rarely ever see Dunkleosteus used in anything. I think that, out of all the kaiju out there, I've only seen two (including Dunkleoder) that were based off that creature.
Bio: -Rygama. I'd be a damn, dirty liar if I said she didn't deserve it, and you know it. -Wendigo. While the legend of the Wendigo may have spawned quite a few fantasy and science fiction characters/creatures, I would be willing to bet a very large sum of money that none of them look anything like this one AT ALL. -The Rage. Probably the most original plant-kaiju I've seen since Biollante. First time I've ever seen a tree with a "great cat skull", too, that's for sure. -Superion. He's a satire monster. Nuff said. -Primolith. Before, I probably would've laughed at the idea of mixing insect and primate traits. They seem so completely different from one another that I'd never have imagined them going together and looking anywhere near natural. Still, Primolith does this- and very well, I might add.
Omegarex24: -Riptide. Gundam meets Zoids meets Mecha Godzilla. He's like the embodiement of the giant robot spirit. And for a mech who aparently started out as a souped-up MG, he's certainly carved out a nice niche for himself as a unique and popular fan-monster. -Magmire. I can whine about seniority all I want, but the fact of the matter is, when you say "lava monster", the first image that pops into your mind is Magmire. He also avoids a lot of common cliches and has a genuinely unique feel to him. -Technor. Especially after Kiryu's first appearance, reptilian anti-kaiju mechs have kind of been a commonplace sight. However, the vast majority of them follow the same template: An erect, tail dragging saurian. Technor, though, is a quadruped, and that's something you really don't see very often in mechs. -Raidion. A four-winged, feathered, lightning-spewing, metallic Coelophysis? Now that's original. -Frosty. Really now, how many two headed snowman monsters have you seen in the kaijuverse lately?
HyperGFreak: -Syintax. Because the combination of obsidian rock and purple lightning is as fresh as it is badass. -Rakkaden. This thing sounds pretty nuts. I'd like to see a picture of it sometime... -Aichitlan. Sea monsters are a common staple in the fantasy genre, but you don't see a whole lot of them that use a South or Central American motiff. What you see even less, though, are sea monsters that kill their foes by dehydrating them. -Chrang-X. Mechanical dragons are nothing new, but they're almost exclusively western dragons. Chrang-X is an eastern dragon, which really is a very different kind of monster altogether. Chrang-X takes a seemingly tired concept and puts a fresh, new spin on it. -Apocalypse. While a lot of mechs look organic or futuristic, Apocalypse has that ass-kicking oldschool look, with steel plates and big, heavy bolts and screws. He's also a dogfighter, and dogfights are something you see far too little of in the giant monster world.
DinoHunter2: Complimenting my own monsters feels kind of weird... >_> -Devastator MK II. There have been some tankish monster-fighting machines before, but usually they're just cannon fodder for the real monsters. D2, though, is actually a sincere threat... you don't see that much with the military-style mechs. -The Entity. I really don't think there's anything else quite like The Entity in the realm of giant monsters. I mean... he's a miniature planet with teeth... -Ovira. When it comes to insectoid kaiju, the wasp is a pretty common template. That's exactly why I picked it- so that I could find a way to make it unique. Wasp monsters are common... but Ichneumon monsters...? -Bunyip. Okay, maybe not the most complex, imaginitive design of all time or anything... but come on. It's a duck-billed platypus. How many times have you seen a platypus go on a city-destroying rampage? -Kragos. He doesn't look too different from the average saurian kaiju, but I feel that his specialization in bringing down mechs makes him something new.

Post by Bio on Dec 2, 2007 23:12:24 GMT -5
Wooboy... tough one.
MM Rosie - DH hit the nail on the head. Charismatic, Rampage-vibe, simplistic yet unique and innovative design. Sweats character and drools personality. Plus he has the same name as my dog!
Taninim - No, I won't compare him to Ripjaws. But he's just as cool. A humanoid, heavy-fanged fish beast who kills terrorists and generally serves as a hero? That's 43 flavors of awsome, that is.
Dunkleoder - A serpent/dunkleosteus hybrid type, carrying parasites, and completely aquatic. NOT bad. Elegent, simple and ravishing.
Argus - As someone who's heavy hitter is also pure T&C, I can appreciate this guy quite a bit. A simple, elegent and oddly appropriate design makes this guy cool in my book.
Q'thulu - Rock flesh + squidhead + four arms + stomach face = instant win. Need I say anything more?
Bio
Rygama - Someone once compared her to a unique blend of the positive traits of Godzilla and Mothra. Not really what I was thinking when I made her, but an interesting asessment. It was Ry who got me to start approaching everyone as a true character, and not just a fancy fighter. Add to it, she's built like a Heisei/Millenium monster, but relies on pure melee abilities. She's also has the distinction of being a female tank, without being completely deprived of character - not something that's common in sci-fi.
Wendigo - Dude, I spent so much time perfecting his design, he'd BETTER get a spot here. Come on, punk mane, helmet-like mandibles, bat-ears, chameleon-eyes, spider-legs, fungus in place of digestive system, AND he's a perfectly natural animal? In addition to being fuggin CREEPY, I consider him my most unusual and effective design yet. I'm quite proud of him, I must say.
The Rage - Despite his similarities to Biollante, I'm overjoyed that he's not compared to her. My DA watchers are probably aware that he has quite a story behind him, and I like the way he plays that, so he reserves a spot.
Random Lobster Dude - Surprisingly popular. I must point out, he's technically a mergeance of a living water organism and a horde of mutated zoaplankton. He's simple, but between his total lack of a real name, his funky appendages and his general character, I like him.
Die Spinne - I'm VERY big on the way his face came out, as well as the fact that he's a spider monster without any of the traditional spider motifs. He's mainly a comedy monster, without being as over the top as Sir Megorga and Roxy. He's just insane enough for me to love him as a truly canon character.
Dinohunter
Tokunaga - I'm a sucker for mammal/reptile blends. He's a truly unique, semi-draconic form, and he seems to have considerable character. Overall, I like him alot.
The Entity - In all fairness, I can think of two or three giant ball monsters before it. Bacillus, The Roller and Bacillian. Despite this, The Entity defines itself as a nonetheless unique being, with its planetary theme, telekinetic moons and HUGE, funky maw. It works nicely.
Ovira - It's a wasp. That alone makes her sexy, but the fact that she uses her REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM as a bloody RAILGUN?!?! GENIUS! My personal favorite among his gallery, in fact.
Bunyip - Not a whole lot of Bunyip-monsters out there, and even fewer platypy. A fanged platypus, at that... An intriguing interpretation of a classic.
Jotun - HUGE, carnivorous sauropod. DELICIOUSLY simple, but undeniably brutal. A true masterpiece, and a runner-up for title of favorite, after Ovira.
Omegarex
Chimeragon - Captivating design and compelling weaponry. It's be a crime not to include him, simply for his sheer innovation. People keep saying blind monsters are underdone, but few people actually bother to make them.
Riptide - A humanoid mechanical dragon is already a target for scrutiny, due to three cliche elements. Despite this, Riptide defines himself nicely as a unique force, and a very personality-driven character, considering his state as an inanimate object. He does indeed embody the mecha spirit, and makes a disturbing amount of sense as an anti-monster warmachine.
Raidion - You had me at 'ramphorynchus'. An intricate blend of the familiar and the bizarre, resulting in a beautiful image.
Frosty - Two-heads + snowman monster + cutesey name = win. Need I say more?
Magmire - A docile, volcanic bacteria colony is an inherently original idea. His shapeshifting mechanism opens wonderful possibilities, and overall, he's got character oozing from every crack.
HyperGfreak
Rakkaden - I'm not sure where to begin. A gut-mouthed insect beast just plain WORKS. Its design is mindblowing, and it succedes in being an insect lorder without the traditional control over arthropods.
Aichitlan - Sea monsters with class are something of a rarity, and it's rare to see one with such innovative weaponry. Its an intriguing design, and its origins are compelling.
Apocalypse - Oldschool mechabird with distinct Indian influences. NICE.
Athrea - Casey digs bladebugs. The chlorokinesis is gnarly, and the attack names amuse me.
Liyscrix - Props for maintaining a central theme and going all out with it. A plant monster based on material degeneration is all sorts of awsome.

Monster Master With a Roster of 37 kaiju, it'll be tough to pick just five, but here goes...
Thunder- Few people could pull off an owl, gorilla, wolf, bull, crocodile, mantis, etc. hybrid and make it work. Not to mention that Thunder's just plain awsome.
Scorpadon- It's a bug, it's a dinosaur, it's so much more than the sum of it's parts.
Q'thulu- Four arms, rocky armor, and a pure T&C combatant? Yeah, that definately takes the cake.
Rosie- No one expects a Walrus kaiju!
Cell- A bit more in the vein of a genetic freak than Thunder. I can't even quite wrap my head around what it looks like.
Bio His roster may be comparatively small, but damned if it ain't original to the extreme.
Rygama- Dude...look at her! She oozes personality, a rarity for atank, and she's a melee fighter (for the most part). What's not to like.
Wendigo- No one does a Wendigo like Bio. A fungal colony inside a primatologist's worst nightmare.
The Rage- It's a tree that manages to look nothing like a tree, save for those twisted, nightmarish types you might see in a Lovecraft story.
Primolith- Four-armed kaiju of the non-insectoid variety are pretty rare it seems. Primolith fits the bill for uniqueness as well.
Die Spinne- Considerably freakier than any spider I've seen.
Dinohunter Should be easy enough...
Bunyip- It's a mutant platypus thing. No one does platypus kaiju...except DinoHunter obviously.
The Entity- A fanged planetoid. never seen one like it before.
Devastator Mk. II- Tanks tend to be reserved for cannon fodder. Using one as an actually effective anti-kaiju weapon in and of itself deserves praise.
Ovira- Dude...Organic railguns.
Jotun- A sauropod kaiju that also happens to be a carnivore that also happens to be pure melee. How can you go wrong with that?
HyperGFreak If anyone has original kaiju, it's him
Syintax- A freakish monstrosity if I've ever seen one. Awsome, isn't it?
Rakkaden- A pretty bizzare insectoid, if I do say so myself.
Aichtilan- Never quite seen a serpent/dragon/water beast that looks quite like this.
Gistra- A freak of nature...in a good way of course.
Arcthryx- Words cannot even begin to describe what this thing is like. Hell, even the description makes it hard to picture, but that's just because there's so much to it.
Omegarex24 Finally my turn is it?
Riptide- Everyone knows and loves this guy. And for something that started out as a souped up MG, he's grown quite a bit since then.
Magmire- Lot's of folks have lava monsters. How many of them include biological components and gene altering capabilities? Yeah, just me.
Chimeragon- A fusion of strange traits, plus he's blind and can petrify targets. What's not to like?
Raidion- A four winged, lightning spewing, semi-metalic Coelophysis. Bet you didn't see that one coming.
Frsoty- Technically inspired by the Deranged Mutant Killer Monster Snow Goons from "Attack of the Deranged Mutant Killer Monster Snow Goons" by Bill Watterson, it's unique in that no one does snowmen kaiju. And he's a joke monster too.
