Hmm...

Initially, I'd vote for the Giga, just because of how insanely powerful it is. Gigan's weaponry would have a hard time penetrating that armor. The Giga Cannons and the Thunder Strike though, lose a lot of their advantage, due to Gigan's teleportation and the electrical immunity of the nano-bots. In melee, both are superb, although Gigan has a few more moves at his disposal. I need to think this one over some more before I make a final call.

I lean towards Giga on this. That armor is ridiculously powerful, and I'd like to say even the saw whips get through that without too much trouble. And while Gigan's doing that, he's going to have to defend (Pretty much impossibly) against those jaws and blades. Gigan's range is pretty much negligible in this case, and I don't really see those sonic cannons coming into play. So, unless MM can come up with a counter to the jaws crunching Gigan or tail blades slashing him in two...

As for teleportation, I can't see it doing much more than prolonging the battle. Gigan might teleport round n' round and land extra hits, but besides that...

Regeneration. And that's assuming Giga can charge in quick enough to do such a thing.

While I can see Gigan's claws finding an opening in the armor in order to get inside and mangle Giga's innards, I just don't see him preventing himself from being shredded.

Giga is my initial candidate.

Now THIS is a battle for the ages.

Gigan has the mobility, Giga has the armor. Both are capable of shredding essentially anything in melee. Giga has the ranged advantage, though it's negated somewhat by Gigan's teleportation and electrical resistance.

Once they get into T&C -which they will, there's no denying that- Giga has the slight edge. Yeah, Gigan has god knows how many instruments of butchery at his disposal, but even the nastiest of them will take some time to cut through Giga's armor. And about the only one that doesn't bring him within reach of Giga's crushing Jaws 'O Doom is the saw-whips. And those are thin enough that they could be easily severed by a swipe from Giga's tail blades, or simply by Giga pulling away from them.

Now, as MM said when we were discussing this match after he drew it, if Giga manages to impale Gigan with his tail blades (or simply gut him, for that matter), Giga would win by TKO since it would take Gigan several minutes to regenerate the various internal components and come back online. A similar result would follow if Giga crushed Gigan's head or a mouthful of torso in his jaws.

Yes, I did indeed state that, and I still say that be true. As both me and IR have told one another..

Each is well equipped enough to take the other down. It all depends on how well Gigan and Giga handle themselves. No matter whom wins, the winner is gonna' be left hurt massively, and while Giga's jaws, no doubt, will do some damage..

There's a good chance they could be taken out of the fight the moment he bites into Gigan's 'hands.' Example...

Giga bites the saw-whip, the nanobot's inside his maw stretch out from the whip and form drill-tipped whips.

Fight is a MAJOR abstain in my book.
